Totally out of left field, but, does Weiss have some way to turn Mitsurus evoker into a real gun?

Persona 4 Arena does have Persona Breaks, which if your Persona or your character gets hit while the Persona is active enough times, you lose the ability to summon the Persona for a period.

Meanwhile, Weiss' Summons can be destroyed, but she can just re-summon, and she has multiple summons available to her.

One weakness of Weiss's summons is that they're not instant. In a fight in Vol 5 against Vernal, who was constantly in her face, she performed rather poorly.

I vaguely recall from Persona 4 anime that hurting a Persona does hurt the user, and vice versa, and I have no substantial reason to believe Persona 3 Personae work differently from those from other games. It's not quite the Jojo deal of "will die if my superpower dies", but if Mitsuru's main mode of power is disabled then she doesn't have much else to present against someone who can hold her own against a sword larger than she is tall (White trailer), among other things.

Persona 3 movies show the Personas getting beat up and not affecting the user.

Its amusing that the 1st Persona rep is from the least realtivly popular of the 3 modern Persona games.

Can I just say I loved the start of this fight because both heroes where very in character.

Then things got brutal as Death Battle does... bah.

I learned a lot about both of'em though. I never grew up with Ben 10, it was after my time.

I agree that the whole, all battles have to end with death rule, can lead to a lot of Out of Character moments. I’d personally prefer if that rule was gone, and fights only ended in death when it made sense, but I guess it wouldn’t be Death Battle then.

I just find it weird that finisher is always so gory, while rest of the fight looks low budget version of fight from official crossover would probably look like.

The fight actually took place in the Injustice universe which also revels in switching between comic booky and needlessly dark

We need a fight with sunshine and rainbows, then one of them falls into an acid pit or something like that

If you make it so being willing to murder is such an inherent advantage, then things are gonna be skewed heavily to darker and edgier characters. You also will just have heroes holding back constantly, so we're not seeing who would win.

I’m not saying anything about the research or reasoning for who wins should change. Just the animation wouldn’t end with death every time. The result would still be determined by who wins going full out.

All that does is make the losing side say "well, they could still totally do X and then blah blah blah" for why that would totally not be the end of the fight. Dead is dead, everything else is an obstacle a fighter could get out of.

Just imagine if the Superman and Goku fight ended with Goku just getting arrested. How on earth would that be satisfying to anyone?

A silver age Mxyzptlk couldn't escape the phantom zone. No-one in Dragonball, no matter how hard you wank them, could get out.

That was a complete one-time unexplained fluke caused by one guy undergoing a temper tantrum though.
