Combining the player character list from Super Paper Mario, the main characters would be:

What's the difference? Looks all the same to me.
For those who can't immediately spot the difference, lately Peach's dress has an extra layer around her waist that gets larger as it makes its way from the front to her rear. Also, the dark pink section at the bottom of the dress is smaller than it used to be.

Mario Party 4 was the game that basically standardized every character's modern look, including Peach and Daisy's new dresses, although the new design elements on Peach's dress were on her Super Mario Sunshine dress. Paper Mario: The Thousand-Year Door does seem to be the only game released after Mario Party 4 to use the classic dress.
