I recently learned that in Super Mario 64 there are butterflies that can turn into 1-Ups or bombs.

The random times people learn things.

The only butterfly that turns into a bomb is in Tiny-Huge Island.

Turns out there's set patterns to it! https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=h8BHEMo-zOM

Going by the comments, the reason for it is due to Japanese mythology about butterflies and souls. "So I think I may have a reason for why this is in the game. In Japanese mythology, butterflies are symbolic of the souls of people and of love that can transform people's souls. This would be why it transforms into a 1-up. The same reasoning can be said in Ocarina of Time/Majora's Mask when you use a Deku Stick to transform a butterfly into a healing fairy. As for why they can become bombs, I'm not sure. The only thing that I found researching was some references to Butterflies being bad omens when going to battle, because they are the souls of those already departed. I am fairly certain that Nintendo deliberately put this into the game for the Japanese symbolism of butterflies."

A demo for Luigi's Mansion 3 will be playable at the San Diego Marriott Marquis & Marina during the next Comic-Con.

It is the perfect day to release it for that maximum spookiness.

It would be much better if they released it on October 4th so we could play it most of the month of October.

This date also gives it a couple of weeks of space before Pokemon hits.

In fact, this seems to be the first first-party retail Nintendo game to not come out on a Friday (at least in North America) since Game & Wario in June 2013.

So I guess the final title is Luigi's Mansion 3. Kinda weird.

Also, is there some Berenstain Bears alternate dimension stuff going on? Because I swear Suddenly Numbered Sequel was an actual listed trope and not a failed trope proposal from six years ago.

The Berenstain Bears is a common point of reference for the Mandela Effect, since it's one of the more well-known (and funnier) examples of that phenomena.

Spooky.

Looking forward to this! I was kinda disappointed by Dark Moon, but thus far all of my main gripes with it seem to have been addressed.

I just found a hilarious video of someone attempting to beat all 3 Mario 64 slides using voice commands. What really makes it are the words he uses for the commands XD

Arlo is officially leading the charge for a Paper Mario: The Thousand-Year Door remaster on Switch, including creating a hashtag movement on Twitter and a petition on Change.org, and just generally encouraging everyone to do what they can to make their voices heard (as long as they keep things respectful).

He argues that it would be an easily profitable and low-effort release for Nintendo, Risa Tabata in that infamous GameXplain interview said that a remaster of The Thousand-Year Door would be considered if fans were vocal enough (a comment that fans at the time were too occupied with the backlash against Color Splash to notice), and it's the only early Paper Mario game that hasn't been re-released yet, with used copies are getting more and more expensive and a remaster on Switch would allow newcomers to play the game more easily.

As someone who absolutely adores that game and also wants it to be re-released in some way, I've already signed the petition, and I'm sharing it to both just get the word out and so anyone else here who's interested can sign it too.
