So I haven't read any of these books since, like, Dark River... How many are there?
Victory! Honor! Destiny! Mutton! So many. So many.
10 more main series books, 5 Super Editions, + 13 comics and four field guides.
And all eight books about the adventures of SHAPESHIFTINGBEARJESUS and an In Name Only book about dogs (like, somebody else wrote it).
"Oh great! Let's pile up all the useless cats and hope a tree falls on them!"I think after I finally get a copy of The Last Hope that I am going to stop reading. I am not really interested in seeing how we got to where we are.
Personally I'm really excited for the new world of Dawn of the Clans, but I could see where those feelings would come from.
Nope, nothing in common.
"Oh great! Let's pile up all the useless cats and hope a tree falls on them!"treu dat
Seekers was essentially Green Aesop in book form. It was a horrible drag.

Does it get any better? I read like the first couple of books, found out that there were like fifty million, and just didn't find myself all that engaged.
If you mean the first two books of the first Warrior Cats series, then yes, the first two books aren't that great. Neither is the third series.
What? The third series is the best one. Though I am willing to admit I have yet to finish Omen of the Stars.
I'm pretty sure that is what I meant (I had searched for the earliest titles within the overall series I could find.) and thanks. Good to know.
It was better than the first two books and had some good moments, but I wasn't really a fan of the storyline.
Eh. I might be biased because I like Jayfeather more than Firestar and Brambleclaw.
I like the second series. That's the first one I ever read (Stormwhatever was awesome but I can't even remember his name now). It took some getting used to Firestar being not Firestar when I went back. :P
That said, the last book of the first series I do really like.
I wasn't nearly as engaged by the third series.
Victory! Honor! Destiny! Mutton!Stormfur? Yeah, he rocks.
The second series was great. Actually, I liked all of them aside from the originals (yes, I know I'm an anomaly), but Fireheart/star/bleh always felt like a giant flaming Marty Stu. And I thought he was one before I even knew the meaning of the word Marty Stu.
I like Omen of the Stars, then Power of Three, then The Original Series, and then The New Prophecy.
Fireheart/star didn't have very much character development in the first arc, but the supporting characters were extremely awesome.
"Oh great! Let's pile up all the useless cats and hope a tree falls on them!"Graystripe is my overall favorite character so the lack of his appearance in The New Prophecy makes it lowest on my list. That and every other arc is better including the original.
Oh yeah, the supporting characters in the original series were great. Graystripe, Yellowfang, Cloudtail, Bluestar, Brightpaw/Lostface/Brightheart, the other leaders... Cinderpaw was adorable as an apprentice, too.
Victory! Honor! Destiny! Mutton!Yellowfang is still my favorite Medicine Cat which is why if the summary of The Last Hope I read is true, I am definitely excited for it amongst other things.
Thanks, everyone. I might give this another try then, but with some of the titles/series that have been mentioned.
Well, y'all have inspired me. I read the Last eight books in the main series in four days.
One thing that bothered me: at one point, I think it's Dovewing that says Spiderleg would be an elder soon. I immediately was like YOU ARE KIDDING ME. HALF THE CLAN IS OLDER THAN HE IS.
And then I started thinking. If Mousefur has been an elder most of the time they've been at the lake, why haven't, say, Graystripe or Dustpelt or Ferncloud retired?
Victory! Honor! Destiny! Mutton!Because they're immortal. The Spiderleg thing is brought up a lot.
So anyway, how did you like them?
"Oh great! Let's pile up all the useless cats and hope a tree falls on them!"I still think the first series had the best supporting characters, and also the main characters interact with each other much more than other Thunder Clan warriors, I think. At least until that weird Bumblestripe thing happened. Which was weird. (And no real closure on Tigerheart, come on.)
One thing I did really like was Flametail's brief stint as a POV character. Shadow Clan has always been my favorite Clan, and I was so happy when there was a POV in the camp. And then they killed him. Boooo. I also liked Blackstar's Clan meeting after the battle, I had a lot of respect for him after seeing how he led and motivated his Clan.
I also liked the Running Gag of Firestar coming up with a new training technique and Thornclaw complaining about it.
Leading up to The Reveal of the fourth cat, I was torn between writing off Firestar and guessing him. It was either "He's already had his story" or "He is the main character of the series." So I... wasn't that surprised.
The climax was very emotional. I liked it a lot. But Dustpelt! And Ferncloud! D:! I can't remember who said it, but the comment about whether Cloudtail still doubted Star Clan's existence or not was funny. :P
Oh, also. I think Tigerstar's entire plan of recruiting Clan warriors was really freaking stupid. Of the recruits we were shown, Hollowflight, Applefur, Tigerheart, and the four Thunder Clan cats fight for the Clans, Icewing isn't mentioned, Beetlewhisker is killed, I can't remember what happened to Sunstrike or Furzepelt, and only Redwillow and Breezepelt (and maybe the other two Wind Clanners, like I said I can't remember) ended up actually fighting for the Dark Forest. Tigerstar already had his army. And if any of these recruits decided to spy on him, like Ivypool totally did, then the surprise would be ruined. Any of the other cats could have told their Clan what was going to happen. Tigerstar/Brokenstar/them couldn't tell, because they didn't know when Ivypool did it. Why didn't he just attack the Clans with the gigantic forest full of evil cats that he already had?
Oh, minor plot hole: Hollowpaw trains with Ivypaw in the river fighting against Darkstripe, and is later introduced as a new recruit who's never been there before.
All in all, though, I enjoyed it. The flashback stuff was really cool.
Victory! Honor! Destiny! Mutton!Today is the 10th Anniversary of the series! Awesome!
I offer congrats to the Erins.

My friend made a php game of my choose your own adventure. It's awesome.
Also, there's an excerpt from The Sun Trail, book one of Dawn Of The Clans up on the official forum. I'll leave a link if anyone wants it.
Not too long until the 10th Anniversary!
