Wow. This is actually quite well done. I hope you got a good grade for it. It shall certainly serve as an inspiration to my own project on Metal Gear.

Not to be harsh, but the typos were due to the googledocs version being a draft or something, right? Otherwise I'm kinda worried you might get docked points by the teacher for that.

Just to show a few:

He took an interest in many film and considers himself “70% film”.

  • Might've been better to phrase that as "filmography", or "in many films.
  • After finishing college, he got a job in konami’s MSX division Kojima got involved with a sequel to the hit Arctic Adventure with Penguin Adventure as an assistant director.
    • A company's name should be capitalized. Also, it looks like you're missing a period, or a better way of flowing into the next idea. Best correction would probably be "...he got a job in Konami's MSX division; he was involved with a sequel to the hit Arctic Adventure known as Penguin Adventure as an assistant director."
  • 'It changed everything and is still remembered today as a classic. Then came metal gear vr missions, an expansion pak for mgs1, then metal gear solid ghost babel, a spinoff which he supervised for the game boy color. Then he started work on the zone of the enders series a sci-fi rpg. Then came metal gear solid 2 that completely subverted everything about the first metal gear solid and essentially mind raped an entire generation. Then came boktai an Rpg on the gba about hunting vampires where you used the sun reader built into the cartridge to fight vampires.
    • Again, need to capitalize the names, along with their abbreviations. It would also help the audience if you explained just how Metal Gear Solid was such a big deal - how most games even in that generation often did stealth poorly, how few games cared little about crafting deep, cinematic stories (save for JRP Gs or a few western RPGS), how the voice acting was outstanding for the time and even had several well-known VA's of the era secretly work on the project under aliases, etc. All of that would help sell the audience on the cultural significance of the Metal Gear series.
  • each one expanding on the sun-based vampire fighting, infact the boktai series even had a crossover with the mega man franchise.During this time...
    • I'd place a semicolon after fighting, it'll help the sentence flow better. Also, forgot to put a space between the end of the sentences.
  • And of course metal gear solid 3: snake eater, a prequal set during the cold war. Which introduced more open-ended gameplay and a system where you have to fend for yourself by hunting the wilderness to survive.
    • Once again, needs proper capitalization for the names. Prequal is incorrectly spelled, should be "prequel". The beginning of the sentence, "and of course", should probably be re-written since MGS 3 was not even the final product in the franchise, but only of that console generation.
  • But do to the success he decided to make peace walker to fill in the holes between 3 and 1.
    • Typo; should be "due" instead.
  • ...and supervise a remake of 3 on 3ds and a spin-off made by platinum games (known for making over-the-top hack n’ slash games like mad world and bayonetta.)
    • The fact that it took me a bit to recognize that you were talking about MGS 3 and Metal Gear Rising is going to be a problem, and doubly so for the audience, who may be foreign to the subject. Using their abbreviations is acceptable for MGS 3 since you already mentioned it once, but Rising has yet to be named in your presentation so you need to say it's name in full at least once for the sake of the audience. Might also be a good idea to explain how Rising underwent some revisions due to the original team not being able to pull off Kojima's vision, and how Platinum had to scrap much of the original game design.
  • And this was where his relationship with konami got rocky, his budget for mgsV was way to high and on top of konami’s poor treatment of companies, it led to mgsV being slightly rushed while his project for a silent hill reboot was ultimately cancelled in place for a series of pachinko machines based off of castlevania, silent hill, and ultimately metal gear itself.
    • Use a colon after "with Konami got rocky", it'll read better. And it sounds like a run-on sentence after "it led to MGSV being slightly rushed...". Fix that. Can't hurt to talk about all of the allegations brought about by ex-Konami employees either, it'll really drive the point home as to just how bad things were in the company.

Again, not trying to be mean or a grammar Nazi, just looking out for you since this is a school project after all.

Remember about ten years ago when MGS 2 was still hated, we were in a post-MGS 4 and Peace Walker world and everyone thought Big Boss was way cooler and better than Solid Snake? After all MGS 3 was literally the greatest thing to ever happen to mankind and then MGS 4 was...not and then people adored Peace Walker so it's natural "Naked Snake" got all the fans.

Glad that fad is over. Solid Snake 4 Life.

Big Boss killed his mentor, betrayed his country of origin, survived less than optimal hospital conditions, hid away for years under a false identity, left his doppelganger with a 5-star wanted level, went into a coma for several years, and later contracted cancer... so that Raiden could live in a badass future where cyborg ninjas are in vogue.

Every 6 out of 10 troops captured, tortured, and eventually coerced to fight alongside of him claim that he's got really soft hands.

Go, Vic Boss! Greatest man to ever walk this earth!

Snake fought a Metal Gear on foot? Pffft. Big Boss fought a tank on foot. With one eye. And a tranq pistol. And possibly some glowing mushrooms and a box of mice!

An LP'er I watch named slowbeef also has a few commissioned lines from Hatyer as Snake for when people subscribe to him. Like "that sub...how does it taste?" and "you were the lightning in that stream."

I love them all and I'm glad the Internet still loves them all, too.

Anyone seen this 3 hour long takedown of MGS 4? https://youtu.be/93-_r0w7ykI

I just got it linked to me.

I don't hate MGS 4 as much as I used to, I even like Old Snake, but goddam.

On the bright side, remember Chip and Ironicus' MGS 4 Lp?

Liquid Ocelot: Our father's will....

Ironicus: Never went to the reading of that.

Chip: To Snake: all of my money, my big base -wherever that was - to my other son Liquid..................... The guy's just reading the will to both of them and he gets to Liquid's part "to my dear, beloved son Liquid Snake - what? There's nothing here." And he turns the paper around. "He drew himself shrugging!" Spirit Monk: A human should decide human destiny, no matter the cost.

And when Snake confronts Campbell about dating a woman young enough to be his daughter and he says "I'm very lucky" Chip as Roy saying "I'm a great human being, Snake."

There's rumors on the interwebs about Konami unveiling a remake of V at Gamescom called Demon Edition which completely redoes the story and changes various gameplay elements. I'm almost entirely certain its complete wishful thinking nonsense but it did get me wondering as a thought experiment on what would be a Metal Gear game that Konami could remake that would have the smallest amount of backlash given the lack of Kojima. And it had me thinking then there might some merit to redoing Ghost Babel.

Its a non-canonical sequel to begin so there's no controversy over defiling canon, Kojima wasn't heavily involved in it, so there's no spoiling his vision, and given Snake's front and center, it would allow Hayter to come back to the role he's most beloved for. Now its fairly simple given it was GBC release, but the core of it can be built upon to make a more complicated game if need be. It would be Konami's version of the Link's Awakening remake, taking a well liked portable game and allowing for an improved version to work out the kinks.

Of course it would still face backlash because after Survive any goodwill the company had has been remarkably pissed away and there's no guarantee it wouldn't try the same microstranscation nonsense it did with MGS, but it is interesting hypothetical to think about.

Maybe if they remade Ac!d or commissioned Platinum to make another Rising they wouldn't instantly be buried under all of the fan rage, but it would take a lot to get people to give them the benefit of the doubt.

Also heavily altering the plot of a game already marred by its executive meddled plot.

[up][up][up] A redo of Metal Gear Solid V? It's probably bullcrud, but if it's true, the internet would probably rip Konami a whole new one all over again.

The 4Chan post sounds far too ambitious to be true, and their intention to virtually remake MGSV's plot along with re-voicing half the cast sounds impractical, not to mention expensive... something Konami these days hates (unless its a sports game). Besides, why even bother remaking the scenes when technically they own the property?

Oh, and having Richard Doyle (aka Big Boss's VA from MGS 4) voice Venom? Why not Hayter? Heck I wouldn't even mind keeping Sutherland's work intact, he did a decent job, just needed more lines and opportunities in the script to speak - which is Kojima's fault.

I can sort of buy it, under the assumption that Konami is doing it to spite Kojima. Spite is a powerful motivation, and considering the stories you hear, i can totally see executives trying to push the Konami brand over Kojima.

I'll teach you a lesson about just how cruel the world can be. That's my job, as an adult.
