Discussion of religion in the context of LGBTQ+ rights is only allowed in the LGBTQ+ Rights and Religion Thread.
Discussion of religion in any other context is off topic in all of the "LGBTQ+ rights..." threads.
Attempting to bait others into bringing up religion is also not allowed.

My counter argument to trans sports bans would be to ask why isn’t it simpler to set thresholds/weight classes for whatever characteristics (weight, testosterone levels, bone mass, etc…) and let people fall into the appropriate grouping regardless of if their cis or trans.
“And the Bunny nails it!” ~ Gabrael “If the UN can get through a day without everyone strangling everyone else so can we.” ~ CyranThat usually just gets people really anxious because they don't want to think about the fact that a lot of gender division literally comes from men being upset about the idea of women possibly beating them at sports when women's divisions started to be a thing.
Not Three Laws compliant. Most opponents of trans people playing sport probably can’t even define what characteristic is meant to be the thing providing an unfair advantage.
“And the Bunny nails it!” ~ Gabrael “If the UN can get through a day without everyone strangling everyone else so can we.” ~ CyranPff, scientists. Who needs science when you have Common Sense™?
Trans rights are human rights. So recently, Missouri made a form to allow transphobes to report trans people to the state. It just got shut down because the responses became full of fanfiction and Bee Movie scripts.
Huh, hasn't something like this happened before?
Where there's life, there's hope.Per the article:

Trans rights are human rights.I think I read somewhere that someone managed to drop a zip bomb on them in the petabyte range.
But could be wrong.
"Yup. That tasted purple."Fort Worth had Texas Police aid and protect Proud Boys as defenders came to protect drag story hour. Not only did they escort the Proud Boys peacefully, they threatened and detained Medics who tried to help injured protestors, hurt and detained Protestors, and pointed loaded AR-15s at them.
Every accusation by the GOP is ALWAYS a confession. And bragged about barrel-flagging protesters.
"Yup. That tasted purple."Isn't attacking medics a war crime?

Domestic police aren't subject to the Geneva Convention.
Hence why they can tear gas people and the army can't.
"Yup. That tasted purple."This is why we need much tighter scrutiny on the police. Or reform the system altogether. "Defund the police" is a thing for a reason.
It's still a shitty/misleading slogan though.
Certified: 48.0% West Asian, 6.5% South Asian, 15.8% North/West European, 15.7% English, 7.4% Balkan, 6.6% ScandinavianIt's a slogan born from the frustration of people to whom a police presence is always a detriment, for whom an encounter with cops often results in deadly results for no other reason that they have dark skin.
Also, you know, how a lot of major cities react to literally everything by increasing police funding. Like, Chicago doesn't actually need to fund the police more, the city needs to fund a lot of other programs that are effectively being starved.
It's pretty well established that increasing police funding doesn't actually decrease the crime rate, but funding social programs and housing programs and libraries and a ton of other social service-y stuff does. So we've got this situation where a lot of politicians will frequently refuse to fund those programs and fund the police instead, which does nothing to help the big picture.
People mostly hate "defund the police" because there's a super pervasive media narrative that the police are absolutely necessary and must be funded to the maximum possible because they're the only way to lower the crime rate.

Not Three Laws compliant. We have had dozens and dozens of pages spent arguing that slogan in the US Politics thread, can we please not do that here, too.
“Once you’ve been to Cambodia, you’ll never stop wanting to beat Henry Kissinger to death with your bare hands." ~Anthony BourdainDidn't the army tear gas protesters at Lafayette Square in 2020? It was a big event.
I think the actual deal is you can't use it on wartime enemies. Protesters don't count as that so both the police and army can do it.
Nope.

Not Three Laws compliant. And the pantsuits
That guy looks like a fucking idiot, he isn't fit to judge anyone's manner of dress.
Never trust anyone who uses "degenerate" as an insult.
It's still being researched but the general consensus from scientists using the best studies suggests that trans women on HRT for a certain amount of time do not have a significant advantage over cis women of a similar weight class.
A trans woman who has not undergone any biological transitioning will probably be stronger than the average cis woman, and I can understand a restriction against that and placing an HRT moratorium requirement, but past a certain point that goes away. The science doesn't support the idea that living one's life as a man gives a permanent inherent advantage over living as a woman.
Likewise, a very large and well-trained cis woman can probably kick the ass of a small trans woman, because what really matters is size and weight class.
