Whooooo that's great!
"I am Alpharius. This is a lie."I'll admit its gonna be REAL interesting to see who they get for some of them.
Can we pleeeeeass have Mark Hamill as Majima again?
He doesn't even remember that role, so probably not.
The Joon-Gi Han thing is something I find interesting.
Why is this theme so catchy?
Trans rights are human rights. TV Tropes is not a place for bigotry, cruelty, or dickishness, no matter who or their position.Hey,
I am playing Yakuza: Zero for the first time. I played and completed the first two Kiwami games, enjoying them tremendously but have been told this one is the best by far. Honestly, I like the gritty crime drama elements of the game more than I like the bananas humor or the mini-games.
I just finished Chapter Four and am so far impressed with the story. It's nice to see everyone before they get on, but the cutscene lengths are seemingly particularly long.
That may just be Yakuza, though. It's one part video game, two parts television season.

Author of The Rules of Supervillainy, Cthulhu Armageddon, and United States of Monsters. If it helps, Zero has the best Yakuza story that isn't Judgment.
It's been 3000 years…That's Yakuza, yeah. Also 0 has more emphasis on minigames to acquire tons of cash to really build up Kiryu and Majima.
Yeah, I'm going to probably play Judgement after this one rather than going to play the Remastered version of 3. I have always been a big fan of the medium of video games for storytelling but a lot of developers seem hesitant to tell a deep story with actual characters or social commentary. The failure of the Deus Ex series with Mankind Divided was a real blow to me.
Yakuza don't give no shits, though, and is always an entertaining crime drama despite the tiger punching.
Author of The Rules of Supervillainy, Cthulhu Armageddon, and United States of Monsters.3 is okay but it’s definitely one of the weaker stories, and admittedly after playing the two Kiwami games going back to the older engine that powered 3 and 4 is definitely a downgrade. Judgment is just a good crime drama with no real Continuity Lockout.
I like the crime drama, but I honestly think I'd get pretty bored with it if it didn't have the ridiculous bits in between.
Like, I would just consider the game to have its head up its ass and taking itself way too seriously to an unreasonable extent.
Also, I just plain wouldn't like the characters as much. Kazuma Kiryu without his bouts of being The Comically Serious is almost just a robot programmed for kung fu and doing good.

I think the moment I was most confused by was when there was apparently a mechanical castle run by the Omi Alliance in Kiwami 2. I'm like, "Okay what now?" On the other hand, I wouldn't give up Kiryu punching out a tiger for anything.
Just got involved in the Real Estate mini-game and was curious if anyone had any tips for it. It seems pretty complicated.
Author of The Rules of Supervillainy, Cthulhu Armageddon, and United States of Monsters. It's not, but I'd use a guide anyway to find the stores you can buy.
Basically you run around the sections owned by the Kings and find businesses they own, then buy them. You return to your office and assign workers and security for the area, and then you get a cash payout after a bit of time. There's also enemies who will pop up and block your money intake that you have to go and deal with.
The only thing really complicated is figuring out which properties you can buy; for that, I would use a guide.
Otherwise just make an offer... in cash! and let the money flow in. It's pretty great.
Different workers you can assign have different stats and they cycle through several sets of them when they're used (it's complicated to describe but you'll see that repeatedly using a guy will rotate through their various ranks). Just cycle through them and you'll be fine, the difference isn't that huge.

Hop on over to this page and add them.Well, I successfully defeated the Leisure King but am doing something wrong since I lost three properties despite being immediately going out to beat up his goons every time I saw the Red Cirle on my map. I think I'll pass on taking any more of them down at least for a while as I want to just progress through the rest of the main story.
Hopefully, I can still collect money enough to upgrade Kiryu's martial arts.
Author of The Rules of Supervillainy, Cthulhu Armageddon, and United States of Monsters.Okay so...the last Legend difficulty bouncing mission in Kiwami 2 is kinda kicking my ass.
Money pretty much grows on trees in Zero. You are in the middle of an economic boom, after all.
It's been 3000 years…Against the Three Amons? Yeah, that's tough as nails.
Bring a Muramasa Blade if you have it, and any other swords in general, then clear out the mooks when the Amons start piling in. attack them until they pop that dumb barrier, then basically manipulate the AI around the big obstacle in the back until it drops, kill them, rinse and repeat.
I've got a couple of Muramasas, yeah, and I got the Sacred Wood Armour. Shame Jiro's still a dickface. I try to pace myself so I don't have all the Amons at once but its still a git
Just finished the scene with Kiryu and Nishiki in the woods. That was pretty powerful stuff even when you take into account its overacting. It mirrors their future together a lot too. Nishiki feels like a coward for not being able to pull the trigger and Kiryu is a Death Seeker who is kind of annoyed he won't. Kiryu also sours their relationship by refusing to let Nishiki help him save Kazama, which makes him feel doubly useless.
Author of The Rules of Supervillainy, Cthulhu Armageddon, and United States of Monsters. Finally beat Pandemonium (Legend)! I had a couple of Muramasa blades on me too like Mage of Fire suggested.
- For Kazuya and Jiro I wailed on them with Muramasa til their bubble came out then ran til their barriers vanished and threw two heat moves at them, one with my knife (I had the infinite durability knife) and one with a tonfa (which some how did dino damage.)
- Sango was a problem because sometimes goons grab you and that lets Sango fuckin' blow you away. Not fun. So I said "fuck this" and popped Extreme Heat, grabbed a Muramasa and hoped my invincibility during Extreme Heat would help. I ended up carving through Sango in pretty quick time and used the rest of my invincible time to cut down the last few jabronis.
EDIT: Finished off Kiwami 2 Jo Amon too. I also only died to him once when he caught me off guard with his Burning Super Death Sword (also vinesauce Joel Kiwami 2 stream when) but the second time I slashed him right back and spammed charged punches since I had Fists of Fury.
So then I blitzed the rest of the game since there wasn't much to do by that point. Ryuji was a pretty fun fight I'll say.

Okay, I am absolute shit at the Hostess Minigame. I got a bunch of Gold Hostesses and have upped my Platinum one twice and still got an F in my service record. On the plus side, I've gotten to the point of the car bomb. It's a really solid storyline and I can't wait to see how it all turns out.
Author of The Rules of Supervillainy, Cthulhu Armageddon, and United States of Monsters.I have no idea how to do it either, so I gave up. I'm just gonna do Kiryu's real estate game and give that money to Majima.
Holy crud. I wasnt expecting that.
