Eh, he's ok from a gameplay perspective, but most hate him and Choi because Kim shouldn't bogged down by idiots like them when he has perfectly capable people to team up with (i.e Jhun Hoon, May Lee Jinju, Chae Lim, his sons Jae Hoon and Dong Hwan, etc.).

Choi is like a really short somewhat gay nonscary freddy krueger. He's okay as a goon character but I dunno, he's never been one of my favorites. Chang I despise. I agree Kim should drop them.

I'd want a Cv S 3 I guess with 2.5 graphics I suppose but not the art style SF 4 has, as the character models are ugly IMO. If they made another SVC Chaos I'd rather it look something like KOF 13 but that's wishful thinking and would take ages.

Ugh, KOF 13's art style really doesn't sit well with me.

It's more frustrating waiting for the asskicking than the asskicking itself.

Well, I went looking for KOF games today, but all I could find was Maximun Impact. Still, a fiver is a good price, and I've played it before so I bought it anyway. I t wasnt terrible as I remember.

Why did I sell Neowave?

I picked up the King Of Fighters game they have for the Wii. It was terrible. Put it this way: you can only use the Wiimote. Vertically. Half the (important) buttons are on the back of the controller, and a third of them aren't even mapped at all thanks to a button deficiency. It was an instant return.

It seemed like some stupid generic port where they just copied in the game and mapped the controls to random buttons - if I remember correctly, one of the kicks was 2, and the other one was B. WTELF?

Maximum Impact is worse than I remember.

I haven't played the original Maximum Impact, but if he's anything like the guy in the second one and Formulation A, he's a riot all the way through.

Just went through the story mode as Iori. I love how Duke has retarded AI, but they gave him infinite super and a 360 degree ground smash that takes half your life.

Love using the "DIE!" grab though.

Errr, the one where he grabs their head and smashes it into the floor, then shoots a fireball into it. Always satisfying to catch someone with that.

Wish he still had his SDM Maiden Masher. Hell, I wish Maximum Impact had SDM's.

Maiden Masher is his "DOA Thrashing" move in Maximum Impact. Which is Maximun Impactese for a super move. Only it's not called Maiden Masher, it's "Rage of The Eight Maidens".

In other words, I wish he was able to do ^This^ in Maximum Impact.

One hit ko combos - aka: "put your controller down, you're not playing anymore" combos. Always... "fun"...

Ironically, one of the main reasons I play Ko F less than Street Fighter is that I find combos (at least, the ones that aren't Target Combos) harder to do. I can still kick a lot of ass with pressuring though, just on of the combo sort.

I'll admit i suck at KOF. I got XIII and blitzed my way through arcade as fast i could, and was proud to earn an achievement for my efforts...

... Named "Slow starter". There are like eight more for completing it even faster.

2000 is my favorite ever, but i can't play it anymore because the PS 2 port i have doesn't support analog sticks. So i have input all those crazy movements on a D-pad. Ow. I questions how my six year younger self was actually able to pull off all those DOA thrashings...

I always just use the D-pad on the bog standard PS 2 controller. You get used to it.

So KOF 2000 called them DOA Thrashings too? Really stupid name.

All the other games just call them Desperation Moves/Super Deadly Moves.

Shirow, you use the analog sticks? Hm, I'm perfectly fine with the D-pad.

Whenever i use the D-pad to do QCB moves my thumb starts hurting really, really badly really, really quickly. It feels like i'm cracking the bone and blistering my skin at the same time. I think i had the same problem when i first got the game, it just wasn't as pronounced or i sucked it up because it was the only good fighting game i owned. It's a huge shame: 2000 is freaking awesome with all the charecters and and strikers. Wish "Cool" Choi and "Smart" Chang replaced their playable counterparts.
