Nakoruru is back. Nice! Plus Haohmaru and Darli Dagger are joining her for Kof-15.

I wonder if there's gonna be Fish out of Temporal Water jokes for the latter two with Nakoruru as the straight man of the group since she has already adapted well living in the modern era as seen in Snk Heroines.

I am curious how Darli react to the world of the present.

TBF Nakoruru's been in the series as early as 95's Game Boy port so she REALLY has the advantage over Haohmaru and Darli.

I assume they've been working on Garou 2 for a while, that's why Kuroki left Sam Sho after Season 2 and Ogura was the main creative force behind XV.

I knew that Sam Sho team was coming from the leak but I'm still miffed that Darli is the third member and not a classic character like Ukyo, Galford, or Genjuro.

It makes sense they'd use one of the popular new Sam Sho character from the most recent entry.

Haohmaru and Nakoruru are important classic picks.

I'd understand if Sam Sho 2019 would still be actively supported, but they left it to die after releasing Baiken, and the rollback drops until next year, so I would rather have another classic pick. And I like Darli but she's so out of place as Luke was in the SF collab.

Hang on, was Nakoruru in a KOF before this? Or not really? I know she was in SNK Heroines.

She was leading the Team Another World in XIV

She was in KOF XIV with Love Heart and Mui Mui. She was also in the Game Boy port of 95, as stated by Mighty, and was a striker for Yuri in 2000. She's also a hidden character in the pachinko game.

If we're counting mobile game appearances and cameos, Nak's in KOF: All Star as an playable character and cameos in the background of both the Women Fighters Team and Team Korea stages in '94 Rebout as well as in the K' Team version of the Neo Geo World stage in 2002 Unlimited Match.

Is worth noting that KOFAS outright considers KOFXIV as Nakoruru's game of origin while Haohmaru, Genjuro, Charlotte, Rimururu, Amakusa, and Ukyo are considered crossover characters.

So are Haohmaru and Nakoruru, quite literally. So it's not a point against Darli, the devs clearly didn't think so.

Not sure how that's a point against Darli. And the game wasn't left for dead or they wouldn't be adding Rollback, which takes time.

Haohmaru is literally billed as the missing protagonist finally joining KOF and Nakoruru has a story participating in KOF either as a bonus character or as a full-fledged one. XIV even set her up as a major player in the Specters saga before she got dropped in XV for some reason.

Darli is just a popular newcomer from the newest game added to promote the game, at least if the pick would've been Yashamaru he would've been the K' to Haohmaru's Kyo.

Yeah, which is why she's on the team.

And she stands out like a sore thumb.

I'm just happy Thorgi called Team Samurai Showdown would be Darhi, Haou, and Nako in his Capcom vs SNK 3 Build the Roster, and now he predicted the future.

Pick who's supposed to be the face of the franchise, the actual face of the franchise, and new character everyone loves and has surprisingly no controversies from angry dudebros. EVERYONE WINS.

Here's the question on my mind: will Shingo and Kim be on the same team, solo entries, or different teams?

I agree with Cortez that there's is absolutely nothing out of place about Darli that isn't also shared by Nakoruru and Haohmaru.

And the "she's just a popular new character, that doesn't matter" take is weird, given that that's the number one reason why a character typically is put into a crossover. This is typically how crossover teams should be structured: a mix of old classics and new popular characters who can advertise the latest game.

To be fair, the DLC up to this point have been leaked. It's Kim onwards that isn't.

I like Darli, but I would've rather had Genjuro or Hanzo over her.

Nah we got Genjuro in SVC Chaos AND NGBC. Idk why people just keep wanting the same characters every single time. I honestly could've taken Charlotte or Hanzo over Nakoruru too.

I think part of the reason Nakoruru keeps appearing in stuff is because she's one of the mascots for SNK's non-profit organization for children. She's more or less an ambassador for the company.

Terry Bogard, Athena and Nakoruru have always been used for means and promotion as individual pillars for SNK, including spearheading games on their own, they have plenty of precedence, no one should be surprised they have priority in any work that could include them in some shape or form.

x3 True, but I can't get enough of his intros with Iori. Plus you could form a rivals team with them + Billy.

And that's why 75% of the time, I don't read leaks. Much more fun to be surprised.

a Samurai Shodown team was initially planned and potentially considered for both KOF '95 and KOF '96, with the team itself consisting of Haohmaru, Nakoruru, and Galford, but the entire scenario was scrapped due to time constraints.

x4. New stuff is scary. Just have all the same familiar faces that no one gets tired off and keep them complacent. That's what people loved about Street Fighter IV and definitely loved with SFV, right?

That's so sweet. I love when they use Kid-Appeal Characters to motivate real life children.

And just because they get support and the most attention doesn't mean it won't affect the rest of the team. Terry's had Joe, Andy, Duck King, Tizoc, Blue Mary, Kim as teammates, Athena's teams has always had changes from losing Kensou & Chin, gaining Momoko/Hinako/Mai/Yuri, and Nakorou has had REACTED|Mui| and now two people from her home game. They didn't have to put Haoumaru in but still did it anyway. The face can still have unique arms around them.

Well Thorgi's Capcom vs SNK 3 had Team Rivals be Iori, Billy, and Genjuro. I think it works, the main SNK rivals all have red hair, kinda fits.

Who knows, we might get other teams:

• Team Justice: Kim, Jhun, May Lee
• Team Protege: Shingo, Alice, Marco

We got all the Awakened Orochi Team Story Intros. Yamazaki finally has an intro, LET'S GO.

Don't give me hope that May Lee will be in the game. I don't want to be disappointed when the team is revealed and she's not on it.
