ED's page got deleted because it made there members keep attacking us. Also, why not just split 4Chan into it's own page?

That page should be restored now.
I know why it got deleted but it doesn't change the fact that the article was mostly complaining. I suppose 4chan could have its own page, it's definitely the most important imageboard on the western internet, but most of things I said should still apply to the article about it.
"Take your (...) hippy dream world, I'll take reality and earning my happiness with my own efforts" - BarkeyPossibly moved to Useful Notes?
Not sure about this, other well-known websites have their pages. Maybe a page on 4chan and Useful Notes on imgboard culture in general
"Take your (...) hippy dream world, I'll take reality and earning my happiness with my own efforts" - BarkeyI've come across (and fixed) a few pages mis-linking this (Pathfinder and Strategy Guide). GiantITP and Brilliant Gameologists are not image boards. :|

Yeah I agree. 4Chan is ubiquitous enough that it merits its own page with its own list of tropes, and a Useful Notes page should be set up for the rest.
GITAH~God, I feel old.
This page exists because back in Ancient Times, Eddie decreed that 4chan would be the one page that would never be made, ever. There was a lot of back-and-forth on the subject, and the compromise was a single, very general page on Image Boards instead.
So I think splitting off 4chan would require Eddie's sign-off.
No we don't need a list. Hell with them. If they say "Don't talk about us, we leave you alone" then lets not talk about them at all. Is anyone else sick of reading through the trope pages where /fs-/ is listed, well outside of the web original folder, like everyone should know or care what it is?
Modified Ura-nage, Torture RackI see no reason for an Example Sectionectomy (and I'm hearing no reason for this beyond "we have a list of examples," which is...not a reason).
I'm trying to fix it right now, but I'm not too familiar with some of the boards, so their descriptions might be a little on the short side. Better than what we have now though, half of which is "This board is stupid, don't go here" or "These people are real nice. I like them".
Also I neither go to /y or have any interest in going there, so I'm pretending it's just like /u, but with more guys.
Alright, that's all I'm doing. You can probably tell which boards I frequent and which ones I don't, but I think I cut out most of the problems.

To be honest, only times I se link here when someone wants to refer to 4chan, but there is no 4chan page so...
Yeah, does every 4chan sub-board actualy needs it's own bulletin? /b/ I could understand, with it's memetic status but others...
Example cut, or just simply list examples. No need to put tropes and such. And yeah, this should be moved to Useful Notes.
Why's it a Useful Notes? Image Boards are media.
Bump. The examples are cluttered, especially the 4chan section of it. It's also filled with YMMV statements, natter, and it's a little outdated. I'm actually surprised that the guys at the image boards haven't done a major attack on it yet.
Because 4chan doesn't do that. They aren't going to sic LOIC on you just because you uttered their name. Ask a board to raid TV Tropes and they will either ignore you or respond with a sarcastic "LOL ANON IS LEGUN XDDDDD".

I would propose jsut cutting whole list or turning this into 4chan page. Let's face it, when it's used on this wiki in any other reference than 4chan reference?
I don't really think that if we would have a page for 4chan they would sudenly come and raid the place. They would raid it anyway, page or not.
At the very least, 4chan should have its own page. We already have things like SCP Foundation and Ruby Quest, both of which started on 4chan, so if they can get pages I don't see why the parent site shouldn't.
Also, 4chan is notable enough for Wikipedia.
Ukrainian Red CrossYeah. Anyone doing anything here? Or can we call this stale?
4chan really doesn't need an article(TV Tropes ain't Wikipedia) and the examples should probably be trimmed to the important ones(at the very least, all the subchans/whatever-the-hell-they're-called except /b/ don't need to be mentioned)
Yeah, unwritten rule number one: follow all the unwritten procedures. - CamacanI don't see why we need this article at all. This has nothing to do with storytelling or tropes. If it was about the use of image boards in media I might feel differently, but looking at it that does not seem to be even close to the case.
Just cut it.
You realise that with that argument we should cut entire Useful Notes area?
Needs a serious work. It's mostly a long list of existing imageboards, natter and overexaggeration. I'd say we make a list of common tropes like in Something Awful article but avoid personal bias (we can clearly see what boards authors like and what boards they dislike) and ranting about how evil all the people there are (as was the case with Encyclopedia Dramatica article some time ago). Then, we should categorize examples into a few folders - the most notable imgboards (2chan, 4chan etc.), notable 4chan spin-offs (7chan, 420chan etc.), regional imgboards and imageboards centered around some specific theme.
