So I guess this makes Cassandra Soul Calibur’s Raiden? One person stuck trying to fix the timeline?
... Lets hope she does a better job than Raiden did at first. I mean, he literally had to be retconned himself before he finally fixed things.
One Strip! One Strip!Technically two if you count Zasalamel, though he's less about fixing the timeline than just acting as a general overseer.
OMG is Cass out yet? Her critical edge was boss.
If she is, I'm buying her...though maybe when I get paid lol.

Huzzah, they finally added my main as a premium purchase to their half-baked, full-priced $60 game. Yay for me.
If I don't get Aeon/Lizardman in Season 2, I'm done (unless of course there's a season 3). I'm tired of my weirdo mains getting dumped from my favorite fighting games. Anyway Hwang and Aeon would complete the original SC1 roster (well, there's Edge Master, but mimic characters aren't as important).
this place needs me hereHuzzah, more unsolicited whining. The game came out with a full roster and story, full development, mechanics, etc., you're just being pissy because your character wasn't released in the base set. She's here now, and DLC, and even on-disc DLC, has existed for like a decade at this point. The series was almost dead, but they're doing what they can to revive it. That's a good thing. Maybe they're withholding some stuff to give us something to look forward to so that the game lasts longer. That's not ideal, but still, if it helps the series live, that's not as bad as not having a game at all.
As for her and her story, that was really interesting. It took me a minute to realize it was implying 2, not 3, timelines. I'd first started thinking that Cass-0 was a third possible timeline, but retaining the mask made it clear. So I now think it's stating that basically Cass is now hopeful that with her foreknowledge, she'll come up with a way to prevent the Bad Ending. Not the birth of the kids, but just prevent them from experiencing undue harm. And that may mean warning Rothion and Sophitia about the piece in her chest, given Sophitia apparently doesn't know.
All in all, a good character and story. I'd probably crush on her more if she were brunette.
Also, How different would you have to look/sound before you became unrecognizeable to yourself? Timeline 1 Cass has a different eye color, hair color, alightly different voice, and some different clothing in the same style. Also, people generally can't see their own non-mirrored faces, and even then she had her eyes covered. Still, they both move the same, and are approximately (given time placement) the same build and features.
The sad, REAL American dichotomyOriginal timeline Cass would be 21 (physically that is), while she'd have been 17 during the events of the original SC (since Sophitia is herself 21 in SC and 25 during the events of II -IV. A I'd say how much a 4 year age difference can change someone depends on the person, but it may be that OG Cass was just so messed up from being in Astral Chaos that her slightly younger self completely failed to recognize the similar physical traits (though she did notice once the mask was off). Being Malfested can wreck you pretty well, so I'm not totally surprised.
I do find it interesting that the gods are willing to back Cassandra this time around, considering she's not exactly all that big a believer in them, but I guess making her a holy warrior as well might be them playing their part in preventing the disasters of the original timeline. Perhaps they feel if Cassandra has their power as well, she can put it to good use saving Sophie, and then have two warriors if needed.
As for telling Sophitia about the shard, that depends on a lot of things. If she learns about it early, maybe they can look for a way to remove it before she has children that won't kill her. That is the biggest issue. If she gives birth while the shard is still in her body, then they are back to square one. But if they can find a way to get it out and keep her alive, then there's less of a reason for Tira to target her family, no reason for Sophitia to protect Soul Edge to save her kids, and she doesn't need to sacrifice herself either.
The biggest question is if that's even possible.
One Strip! One Strip! This timeline needs more doctors. And not ones in crazy cults. ...next guest character: Faust from Guilty Gear.
The sad, REAL American dichotomy... a Guilty Gear character guest starring in this game is something I never knew I wanted until now.
I really love seeing characters from 2D games reinterpreted in 3D playstyles - and vice versa. It's such an interesting thing to play around with. Especially something that runs on strange, like Guilty Gear.
But that's me semi-joking (but still semi-serious). I do think that if Granblue Fantasy Versus had come out much earlier, one of its characters would have had a good chance of being DLC.

"The difference between reality and fiction is that fiction has to make sense." - Tom Clancy, paraphrasing Mark Twain.Being Malfested also comes with this strange voice filter effect, so i dont blame Cass for being unaware
I just figured she was in denial.
A lot of the rest of her story - the way she goes to bring back Sophitia but doesn't take much action beyond that, her motivation being a more general "keep Sophitia from getting hurt" even though she knows exactly what's wrong, the way she talks herself out of doing more and convinces herself she's obtained a happy ending, the way she immediately after the fight with her alt self she tries to rationalize it as not real - lends to the idea that she was spooked by the experience but didn't quite want to believe it was true, like Ebenezer Scrooge looking at the grave but not wanting to believe it was his even though it's obvious.
Which would make sense if she's supposed to get more of a protagonist role in the future. Right now while she hasn't refused The Call, not really, she did just kind of half-assed it and figure that was enough. With the things she was warned about still to come, if soon, that puts her in a good starting place for the next installment.

"The difference between reality and fiction is that fiction has to make sense." - Tom Clancy, paraphrasing Mark Twain. We shouldn't have to accept shitty business practices just to "have" the game. If they can't make the game properly in the first place then don't even goddamn bother.
It's a fighting game and these things are competitive. I don't care about being competitive but everyone who mains Cassandra, or Tira, or Amy has been screwed until they pony up more money for a product they already bought. Who else isn't in the game yet, so the multi-billion dollar company can make more money?
So I'm a lifelong Tekken fan but never played any of these games. Where would you all recommend starting? I'm one of THOSE fighting game fans who are here for plot and characters. And music! Fighting games are second only to RPG's in having the best music generally.
Also I must ask because I always ask this: is there any character even vaguely like Tekken's Anna Williams in the Soul series? She's been my fave forever and ever and I just really like that type of character.
Let's reiterate: this franchise was dead. DEAD. SCVI was a risky venture and the guys upstairs with the big pockets of money wont go all out with something they don't have much hope for. How do you show your support? You give them money. By being successful, the big wigs will give more money to make future products bigger and better.
Look, scroll up a bit; a season 2 wasnt even planned, but the high demand kept breathing in life into it. Saying that they cut corners for the soul purpose of making a half baked product tells me you arent aware of how this all works :/
Start with 6. We just had a timeline redo so now is the pergect time to hop into the series. As for playstyle...ill be honest i havent fought too many dedicated Anna players. Can you describe her playstyle? If its her personality, then you probably want Ivy Valentine.

Yeah it's Anna's personality more than anything that makes me love her. I don't play competitively or anything. I'm decidedly average at best, probably below average really, when it comes to fighting games. I figure out a few good moves with Anna and then just repeat them along with assorted button mashing if necessary until victory
And thanks for the reply. I'll look into SCVI then.
Also... I'm confused about complaints of VI being half-a-game. Compared to most fighters, it was a far more robust game than most.
Legitimately the only thing I thought was truly lacking is 2P costumes. Which is absolutely a nitpick.
You've got a decent single player campaign, solid Create-A-Soul, and the combat is good. What exactly is missing here? I do admit I'm not happy about Tira being on-disc DLC, but bitching about them adding characters later with Cass comes across as unpleasible.

Found a Youtube Channel with political stances you want to share? Hop on over to this page and add them.I'm a little cheesed that you can't play as Lizardman, even though he is in the game with a complete moveset. Like, you programed him, he's done. Why not let people play as him?
Doubtful, unless they give him his V move set or anything. If you CAS any Lizardman and give them Cass or Soph, you’ve got close enough to classic Liz that I doubt it’s a high priority to adapt him.
"The difference between reality and fiction is that fiction has to make sense." - Tom Clancy, paraphrasing Mark Twain.Oh, I forgot that you could make lizardmen in the Create a Soul mode.
I think if you like Anna's personality, you might like Ivy's? I'd suggest seeing what tropes on her character page you like the best, and seeing who in this series shares those tropes.
The sad, REAL American dichotomyWhat WAS Aeons original playstyle? Cause soul blade was before my time, i only know lizardman as the axe and shield reptile i know and love. But in story mode he carries a sword?
In Soul Calibur he had a sword and shield, in Soul Calibur 3 & 4 he had an axe and shield, in Soul Calibur 5 he had two axes. In Soul Calibur 6 there is no specific Aeon Calcos, but there are many generic lizardmen who use a variety of movesets, and you can make your own custom lizardman in Create a Soul.
Yo, wild thought: what are the odds of ZWEI coming to this timeline falling from a portal?
