What march?
There's a big-ass march planned in central London tomorrow in support of a second referendum.
"Yup. That tasted purple."
That someone had to asks makes me nervous...if they want a chance to turn this ship around, they need as many people as possible.
Somebody with an American flag below their icon? Guessing they won't be going :D
Organisers are expecting a crowd at least 100,000 strong.
Oh, bother.
Yeah, I doubt a Minnesotan like kkhohoho has this as their top priority.

I feel 100,000 protesters is unlikely and frankly they're expecting too many people to show up,I expect people will show up to protest just not in the volumes they expect

Why is that unlikely? Berlin just recently had a protest against the far right with at least 100.000 participants (the Organisators talked about more than 240.000 instead of the 40.000 which were originally planned, the police was at least ready to confirm that it was at the least a number in the six digits area), and London not only has a bigger population than Berlin, we are talking about an issue which will impact a lot of people directly.

I hope that the march in London will look similar. It has to in order to have a chance to change anything.

Maybe, maybe not. But it is better than doing NOTHING. The only thing which has to happen for the evil to win is good people not taking action. Even if you think the action will most likely fail, you have to try.
"Plus the vote thing". That's what the march is about: getting a second referendum. Because, as the argument goes... it's become increasingly clear over the last 18 months that Leave lied about, well, everything the first time, and that nobody actually has a clue how to exit the EU remotely as safely as they promised.
Is it a fair vote when every promise made by one of the sides was an absolute farce?

I just noticed that Corbyn is conveniently busy elsewhere...yeah, I guess it would be too much to expect of him to take a clear stand and support the march.
God, I feel so sorry for the British voters. I experienced my own frustrations with politics, but if I were a Brit, I wouldn't know who to vote for at this point.

So, first numbers are in...more than half million people say the organizers, which is easy to believe looking at the live stream. Wow, the streets of London are packed! I don't think that I have ever seen anything like this (though apparently the Iraq war protests were larger).

Regarding the People's Vote march, there are claims circulating that the size of the march is anything from 250,000-560,000 strong, but these are preliminary estimates rather than 'official' estimates.
Official estimates of the size of London marches tend to rest with the Met Police, whose estimate tends to be the one the media use. However, it's already clear that, regardless of what the people conclude about the size, it has far exceeded the expectations of the organisers (who were hoping for 100,000).

Tubes are bloody packed right now, much worse than my normal Saturday commute (I’m on my way to work right now), also they’ve closed Green Park tube station, don’t know if any others have been shut near the route.

Stewards' estimate is 570,000. For reference, the Stop The War Coalition march in London in 2003 was 750,000.

The layout of London can make gridlocking a little too easy to happen. As a result, I was trying to avoid mentioning the gridlocking issues in London right now because it's not necessarily indicative of crowd size.
Yes, although numbers are being debated right now, the general feeling seems to be that this is the biggest turn-out for any march since the Stop The War march in 2003.
Like I said, we need the police estimates. That's the figure the media will settle on.

I was going to make a joke about London traffic always being at a standstill but that’s not totally true, the congestion zone keeps things semi-flowing, Whitehall is presumably the path they’re marching down and I can imagine that Westminster bridge has been shut and that that’s rebounding onto other bridges.
