"Dang that sure is totally poggers my good bitch"One more character for Team Mobius.
- Species: Porygon Z
- Nickname: Omega
- Gender: Male
- Ability: Download
- Personality/Bio: Blood Knight is the best way to describe Omega. He only joined with Team Mobius because he knew another Porygon who had been given a robot body as well, Mecha, and was promised by Mecha his own robot body. Omega's only concern is being the most powerful force of destruction, and as such has no real allegiances, though he does respect strength and will work for those he deems the strongest.
SKYZERK IDEA CORNER!
If only because I'm extremely board at the moment and wanna brainstorm something!
That something beiiiiiiing~!
Battle Bond!Sylph!
That's right, I wanna petition Sylph to gain the Battle Bond ability! And I have ideas regarding this.
Condition:May only activate if Sylph is the very first or very last 'mon sent out in a battle.
Look:Sylph turns a pure white with long, silver fringes, and a even pointier "hat"
And as for the move that gets boosted, I was thinking one of 2 possibilities.
Ominous Wind:Power remains the same, but the effect changes. In addition to the 10% omni-stat raise, now it can Freeze, Burn, or Poison the target 10% of the time, and confuse or infatuate the target another 10%. These 10% rolls would be rolled using Random org, with the statuses being rolled separately. This makes it a fun little random move, lightly fitting the "Ominous" aspect of the move's name.
Failing that...
Shadow Ball:Raises the Power to 90 and takes a different shape than a ball. Can (possibly)be charged for an extra 5 Power every round.
Those are the ideas I have.
Tear into it, y'all.
I like the Ominous Wind, but I feel it'd be best to go with Shadow Ball.
"Dang that sure is totally poggers my good bitch"I'd go with the Shadow Ball variation. The Ominous Wind one is cool, but a bit too crazy to really work comfortably.
ALRIGHT GUYS IDEA TIME.
Okay, so I've been playing Borderlands 2 recently, and I came up with a miniarc idea.
Basic premise would be that Shaun decides to be the DM for a game of D&D where J-Teamers can join.
I'm thinking he makes an imaginary (in-universe) world with anthro Pokémon as the characters, and everyone goes on an adventure to...I dunno, kill something or find a treasure or something like that.
I know I need to draft some actual stuff up for this, but it'll be a while before this starts - if it even does - since the Entralink arc's going on.
But thoughts on the basic premise?

"Dang that sure is totally poggers my good bitch"Unfortunately, we've tried an in-universe D&D campaign in the past, and it just sorta... faded into obscurity after the first couple days. I don't think it's really something that can properly take hold well enough to last.
Yeah, I feel like while this could be some sort of thing that could be happening in-universe and be mentioned R Ping it out would be awkward at best.
All are significantly abnormal in a normal world... All are significantly normal in an abnormal world. That's fair. I felt like it might be strange anyways, since it's, ya know, not actually happening.
"Dang that sure is totally poggers my good bitch"So I've brought this up in the chat a couple of times, but I think I've got it worked out enough to propose the idea in here. So, without further ado, a new character idea!
Evan Septimius
Age: 14
Gender: Male
Appearance: Come on he's an expy of Benjamin Tennyson guys (but like, closer to his Alien Force appearance)
Home region: Unova
Bio: Once a totally normal kid living a totally normal, non-Trainer-oriented life, Evan's entire world changed when he found a particular armband unlike any other. It didn't take long for him to discover its power: the ability to change into one of seven different Pokemon! Now, in lieu of a Pokemon team, he himself uses this special armband's power to accomplish what most humans can't. However, he couldn't have anticipated the mysterious wormhole in the sky that dragged him away from his home universe and to the one with what we now know as the J-Team.
Personality: Evan tries to be a good kid. He tries. But with the sort of power he has, he can get a little cocky about being able to accomplish more than most people without a fancy transformy armband. He tends to embellish personalities for each of his forms, but it's all him underneath it.
The Omniband
- In lieu of a Pokemon team, Evan has what he calls the Omniband: a Human-to-Pokemon armband, given modifications by remnants of the fallen Alakagross civilization, to be able to transform into up to 7 different Pokemon species. No matter the transformation, Evan is still himself.
- Unlike the other armband types, this one works on a timer — you can transform into something for a Narratively Convenient (or Narratively Inconvenient) amount of time, and then it reverts and charges for an obviously Narratively Inconvenient time before it can be used again. Evan doesn't know how to end the transformation early.
- Registering a Pokemon in the Omniband requires a DNA sample of some sort. If all seven spots are filled up, the oldest one gets replaced by a new one for a different species. (Of course, I'll keep track of the forms it cycles through so nothing ends up an ass-pull)
- Sometimes it messes up and gives the wrong form. It's unfortunate but it happens. Sometimes you just have to make do.
- Unlike the source material, the Omniband actually can be taken off as long as there's no active transformation. We don't want it to be too exclusive, now, would we?
- That said, there's only one. Maybe only one per universe, maybe only one total.
Of course, this could definitely use review for balance. So please feel free to nitpick.

I like him! Question, he can't gene-sample Ditto as you said in the chat, but what about Legendaries or Ultra Beasts or Deltas?
Contact Me!Deltas, he could definitely transform into the species, but I don't know whether he should get the type or not.
Legendaries... I feel like lower-tier ones are a "maybe" that I'd like other opinions on, but of course higher-level Legendaries are likely incompatible for one reason or another. ("Aw, man, you're telling me I could have been Vilgax Mewtwo?")
Ultra Beasts, I feel like should be fair game, especially because they're actual aliens. It's thematically appropriate :P
Hm, now I'm curious for another thing: If he DNA samples a Pokémon, does he turn into a clone of that Pokemon or just a member of the species?
EDIT: Guess you answered with the Delta thing, but will keep the question up

"life is just a series of increasingly canon-eluding ao3 tags" ~ everydunsparce "Keep your hellfruit away from me, tempter" ~ also EveryOkay, so I am doing a thing in a couple weeks that is a favor for a friend. Namely, a guy I have known in RL since second grade who is generally pretty great. But the thing is that one day he asked me:
Friend: Hey, could you write a Pokemon Trainer version of me into one of your stories? I've got a dream team and everything.
Me: Uh, sure, OK!
I was originally gonna make him into a gag character of sorts in the Yangverse, but I have too much of an idea backlog there for reasons for him to be a thing there anytime soon. But I realized I could still make him a thing in WAAPT, and so I give you:
Name: Jared Goldherst (NOT HIS ACTUAL LAST NAME)
Age: 25
Gender: Male
Ethnicity: Caucasian
Appearance: light brown hair, tall, brown eyes, usually in outdoors-y gear
Organizational Ties: none
Region: Kanto
Bio: Jared is a guy who grew up in small-town Vermillion, living a fairly normal life before setting out to become a wandering Ace Trainer with an emphasis on the outdoorsy. He is a friendly, enthusiastic guy who aspires to be everyone's "bro", but can be grumpy about minor things. He also has a strange fondness for quoting [NICOLAS CAGE]...
Pokemon:
Valerie (Starter)
Species: Pidgeot
Gender: Female
Ability: Keen Eye
Bio: Takes the "team starter" role a bit too seriously. Likes bossing peoplemons around.
Jim
Species: Alakazam
Gender: Male
Ability: Synchronize
Bio: ALWAYS SHOUTING ANGRILY AND TELEPATHICALLY. EVEN SHOUTS AT HIMSELF AND LIKES TO PICK FIGHTS
Rachel
Species: Absol
Gender: Female
Ability: Super Luck
Bio: A shrewd manipulator and strategist. Tends to act high and mighty
Perdita
Species: Arcanine
Gender: Female
Ability: Flash Fire
Bio: Sweet, friendly, doggy... But one who prides herself on power and knowledge.
Salvador
Species: Milotic
Gender: Male
Ability: Competitive
Bio: An angsty sort fond of grunge and grit. Is not very perceptive that this just makes him look silly.
Rooflespuffer
Species: Dragonite
Gender: Male
Ability: Multiscale
Bio: A mood-swinger, who switches between friendly, chill and lazy to viciously violent. Sometimes referred to by his teammates as "Juggalo Lite".
But thoughts? He's probably debuting on his inspiration's birthday this month.

Contact Me!Okay, so:
- Re: CLONES, my current idea is that, like... whatever sample it's from, he ends up looking like a *close relative* rather than a full clone — like, if he ended up with DNA from Banjo the Ursaring, he'd look different, but like, Banjo's First Cousin rather than just some generic Ursaring.
- As a result, it's probably reasonable to go with "use the original species' type" for forms caused by Delta Pokemon.
- An idea I had moments ago re: the transformation timer was, the wearer gets a certain number of their author's posts (set at 14 for now, but it can be adjusted after the first instance to see what feels right) to do whatever they want, before being forcefully reverted to human form no matter what they're in the middle of. Hopefully that sets up for some entertaining shenanigans, because it can't be a Ben 10 expy without that inconvenience. :P
There are also some things I discussed with Silent re: this idea, but he's unable to make the post regarding it until tomorrow.
Oooooh!
don't think i don't recognize exactly what those personalities are
Given all of those are incredibly distinct and something bitters gets that I have no clue about I'm gonna take a stab and guess it's a MOTHERMUKKING Homestuck reference?
"If I am to be met with disrespect, then I must first love myself with a fierceness no fool can take away." - Vraska, Gorgon assassinBen10, actually
All are significantly abnormal in a normal world... All are significantly normal in an abnormal world.Izshta: She was talking about Umbra's character(s) and my recognition :P
and yes it's homestuck
ooooooooh nvm then
All are significantly abnormal in a normal world... All are significantly normal in an abnormal world.-patpat-
"If I am to be met with disrespect, then I must first love myself with a fierceness no fool can take away." - Vraska, Gorgon assassinD!Post from Silent, with a significant portion about Evan
And now, my notes on his concerns:
As he noted, we do tend to have different perceptions of the RP in a broad sense — and I know a lot of other people here have even more different opinions than either of us. From what I understand — and I could be misinterpreting — Silent's view of the RP and the franchise is more or less "humans are ultimately more in the background while Pokemon are the ones supposed to be in the spotlight", while others are closer to the middle or the opposite of the scale. That of course shapes opinions on these sorts of things a lot more than other aspects.
Moving on from that, there's the "human replaces Pokemon" thing, which — I actually see the H-P armbands and variations thereof as the opposite, or even something different entirely. For Evan in particular, it's less "he's taking the place of a Pokemon" and more "Evan is effectively a Composite Character consisting of trainer and team". In fact, I'm considering reworking the "transformations' personality" thing with more awareness of that fact, so that each one blurs the "it's like I'm me, but also not" line more like it is in canon.
In another aspect, though, it's more satisfying to me personally to write a single character with eight layers of personality, than eight one-dimensional ones, especially if they're limited to the span of a single arc and only get that much major screentime — it's why I'm so selective about giving my already existing characters new team members, out of fear that some of them will drop off the radar or their personality quirks will fall out of interest and whatnot.
On the subject of arcs, though — I'm thinking that it won't be, like, a distinct Media Arc(TM). Instead, he'll be involved with the main plot, while working to find his way back to his home, wherever it is out there in the omniverse multiverse...
Meanwhile, on the other side of the portal, Gwen Evelyn and Grandpa Max (who has to be Grandpa Max, you can't change Grandpa Max's name on a clear conscience) are seemingly regular Trainers with actual Pokemon teams, who happen to be going on a MULTIVERSAL ROAD TRIP to find where Evan ended up, fixing problems the Classic Trainer Way. And of course they pick up whatever characters want to hitchhike around the multiverse, forming their own ragtag squad and getting into episodic shenanigans in true superhero-show fashion.
I'll need planning for Evelyn and Grandpa Max's teams, though — although no doubt Evelyn takes immense pride in having been the one who usually fills the Trainer role as Evan learns his forms. o3o
For Pokemon that he can't transform into at all, I suggested all deity-level Legendaries, plus Type: Null and Silvally; it's an extremely rare event that he'd have the opportunity to get, say, Manaphy samples, but in the rare event he does, it's a viable form.
Like I said earlier, I support Ultra Beasts being fair game. What's the point of a character based on one with alien superhero forms if he can't get an actual alien superhero form? :P
On a different note, though, the Type: Null thing did give me an idea — that being, on the off chance we decide there's a reason for a Kevin analogue, he somehow ends up with a Type: Null Pokeform, as a parallel to his canon counterpart's "Omnitrix Chimera" transformation. This, of course, will need heavy justification, both in-universe and out, and it's not even certain that it'll be a thing.
One last point, readjusting the "clones or not" aspect — in particular, like I said, it'll be a pseudo-clone genetically, but only of the first instance of the species that was registered in the thing. So basically, if an Aggron form is replaced in the Omniband with something new, and then a new Aggron sample is registered, the thing will remember the first instance as the form it recreates.
This helps with the personality aspect I mentioned I wanted to change — since it's the same Aggron all the time, that Aggron will always have the same oddly embellished personality quirks each time. Blurring the line, again — is it still Evan, or another character who happens to have his memories? What secrets does this thing hold? We may never knooooooooow (because it's presumably not going to be a major feature of the story past this arc unless circumstances contrive themselves so that the Septimius family shows up again~)
I'll keep track of how things change so it can effect other characters who borrow the thing, of course. They're traits that blend with, not replace, the original user's personality, so there's not really any worries about other writers writing it "wrong" if it ends up in their hands temporarily.
And of course since it's always the same forms per species, they'll get consistent names! :P
Anything I missed?
I hate to drag away attention from the Ben 10 discussion, but I have some plans in the future that bring up this concept and I just wanna run it by y'all before I make any hard decisions, which is:
Do Humans Produce/Contain Infinite Energy?
Now, of course, any Infinite Energy produced by a human would be minuscule compared to the amount produced by even the weakest of Pokemon - possibly even vestigal from when Pokeman and Humans were "one in the same" as based on one of the Canalave Library legends (those on the Auric spectrum maaaay have slightly more IE to go about, but still minuscule compared to what a Pokemon could pop out). As such, it would completely inefficient to use human based IE as a resource, but none of the less a lil bit of IE would be there.
So that's my question I guess, would humans in the WAAPT Pokeverse produce some IE, however tiny or insignificant that may be.

I'm having to learn to pay the priceI mean that would make sense to me.
All are significantly abnormal in a normal world... All are significantly normal in an abnormal world.Yeah, I'm gonna agree with Izzy on this.
off the shits
This is kind of sudden, but Uill has been banned from WAAPT until further notice for repeated abusive behavior towards other waapters.
