Henry Cavill was fine. He just had nothing to work with.

Kinda surprised WB is willing to commit that hard on Supergirl that they would axe Superman.

That Warner Bros. would fire Cavill because he wouldn't make a cameo in the Shazam! movie underscores just how atrocious the studio's treatment of the DCEU has become.

The Wonder Woman Cinematic Universe.

That's what some people have been suggesting. Just cancel the DCEU, reboot it entirely and keep the Wonder Woman movies canon. I think it's a great idea, when it gets right down to it...

I admit, I kind of don't care. I have seen Cavil in other roles, and while he isn't a bad actor, I don't think that I have seen a truly great performance from him just yet either.

And if DC goes for some sort of reboot, it would be the best to replace as many actors as possible and kind of disregard the while DCEU except Wonder Woman....

Maybe a Days of Future Past-thing where, post-1984, The Flash goes back in time and... does anything.

I mean, yes, it's contrived and ripping off a rival universe, but at least the DCEU has already introduced time-travel other than that coming directly from the movie's butt in DOFP.

Well, for all we know Aquaman and Shazam might be good, so a reboot that erases them from existence might be a bad idea.

Interesting note from Deadline's report on Cavill's departure:

"The word has been out that Warner Bros. has been mulling a completely different direction with its Superman canon for some time, even considering casting Michael B. Jordan in the role down the road."

Pretty sure riots will happen if that comes to pass.

WB even considering a black guy for Superman is about as likely as Megan Fox changing her mind about Wonder Woman.

Riots would be the good outcome. This could well end up being what starts World War 3 and results in humanity being wiped out in a nuclear holocaust.

Also, dogs and cats living together.

There weren't any riots when Michael Clarke Duncan was cast as Kingpin in Daredevil.

And let's not forget Gillian Loeb in The Dark Knight movies.

Still reeling from the turn of events, but I think I've calmed down enough to know that they're just going to get a new guy for Superman. But yeah, people will probably riot if the next Supes is African American. I can only hope whoever they get will have the same level of love for Superman as Cavill did.

To their credit (assuming they go that route), the X-Men Universe kind of wasted their time travel reboot if Apocalypse is anything to go on (and Deadpool and Logan are so disconnected from the main X-Men movies that they kind of don't count) that maybe not many people will mind too much if someone else does it.

Shazam could be part of the reboot. It is pretty much a stand alone movie at this point, isn't it?

Seriously, this is just a farce.

Cancel the DCEU already and start over.

Now that I think about it, people seem to have less of an issue with making white villains into non-white people. I don't recall Eartha Kitt facing any controversy for playing Catwoman and the usual suspects said nothing about Ghost being played by a black woman in Ant-Man and Wasp.

I believe the trailer shows an article referencing the events of Justice League.

After what they did to his mouth in JL, he probably didn’t want to be connected to that character anymore... or he didn't have fun playing him altogether.
