Maxwell is a character who has a bit of a... complicated history. Basically when introduced he was a metahuman with telepathic powers who wasn't a superhero, but a rich and relatively honest man who gave his support to the League. He was their ally for a while, until Geoff John retconned him into having been Evil All Along because he thinks super-powered beings are dangerous to humanity. Then he killed the Blue Beetle of the time, and Diana had to kill him on cameras. Linkara spoke about him in detail in his Top 10 Worst Heroes becoming villains. But point is, no, he wasn't just another evil CEO in the comic. Not sure how they'd translate this.

I thought it was Geoff Johns who did that retcon.
Yeah, it was Johns, not Morrison.
Close: it was Greg Rucka, though Johns co-wrote the actual one-shot issue where Lord was revealed to be evil. The whole Evil Max plot was part of Rucka's Wonder Woman run and his OMAC Project limited series.
If Pedro really is Max, it makes me wonder if the OMA Cs may show up here.

Personally, I hope it isn't Max as I prefer his character before that retcon.
Yes, it was John, not Morrison. I apologize for my mistake^^ Fixing it my post above.

Matt Reeves debunks the claim that his Batman movie is based on Batman: Year One, and says it won’t be another origin story.
Make sense, the whole point of this batman is that he is a veteran with a sort of mysterious past a la nick fury, so missing that will be just another regular batman story and we already have a lot of that.
"After Lex Luthor they have a very low bar for evil CEO villains,"
Meh, CEO are rather blant and since Iron monger no other have actually step up in that department.
Also I prefer mad scientist luthor over CEO Luthor, more engaing I think.
Luthor is both.
Seriously he can balance both cause he’s that smart.

Kinda both depending of the story he often switch to one or the others, also there are diferents between Mad scientist and Evil Ceo in general.
so far the only media who manage to kinda capture lex luthor are the animated universe and Smallville, both in part by their lenght.
He doesn't say they abandoned the plans for a young Batman. Just that it's not an origin.
And Luthor certainly didn't step up in the mad scientist department, so it is what it is.

Has there actually been a proper mad scientist villain in recent superhero movies? Most of the time the Luthors and Osbornes tend to be employing (mad) scientists instead of actually doing mad science themselves. I legitimately can't remember any hands-on science/tech baddies since Syndrome or Doc Octopus back in SM 2.
Shazam might break the mold though depending on how Sivana is depicted.

Actually Luthor in pretty much every film appearance he's appeared in fits that description. Yes he's a corrupt CEO but he does all of the dirty science work himself.
There's also Dr Poison from the Wonder Woman movie and Whiplash in Iron Man 2.

Dr Poison is a good call, though she was more of a lackey than a Big Bad. Whiplash is a legit example though, unfortunately the film was bleh.
Sooooo, Ray Fisher posted this...

Oh boy, celebrity vaguebooking.
I'm absolutely refusing to look into that on principle.
Fuck Ray Fisher.
What's wrong with the tweet?
The poem contains references to broken promises, uncertain futures, and how things might be too good to be true; ending with a line that says that every goodbye is a learning experience. Obviously it's a bit vague at the moment, but fans are wondering if Fisher was unhappy with how WB has been treating him and if he's considering quitting his role as Cyborg.
Or, too put it another way...
Rumored plot synopsis for Birds of Prey
A Supergirl movie is in the works.
"And Luthor certainly didn't step up in the mad scientist department, so it is what it is.
He did, exploring unknowing Sustance? manipulating aliens bodies? hell him in the alien ship is pretty much mad scientist deparment.
As in he was a shit character.
The Birds of Prey antagonist is Black Mask.
The other Justice League members won’t appear in the Aquaman movie.
I would think not. It would be hard for most of them to go underwater for very long. And I don't think we want to see a Batsubmarine.
Only if it comes with an exploding shark.
Seriously, though, did anyone truly expect any of them to turn up?
