That be alright... if they weren't shown to be incompetent
I mean if the ST is a critique on the modern Generation, We're DOOMED
80% of the Imperial Fleet and military assets have fled into the Unknown Region
NEU Mothma: WE WON DEMOCRACY CONQUERS ALL
Totally Not Garm: Umm no we didn't, they are gonna come back.
NEU Mothma: Nah uh, you're just a bloodthirsty hawk poisoned with toxic masculinity and your need to kill things! We are safe forever!
-proceeds to run all the sane members of the Alliance off and gladly welcomes back all those imperial sympathizers! -
NEU Mon Mothma is just presented as fucking naive' and self deluded about her importance.
I'm A Pervert not an Asshole! And her policies led to Leia's warnings and very well founded concerns about the FO to be ignored and her to be disgraced for the horrible crime of being Vader's long lost daughter, something she has no control over whatsoever.
"Bingo! If two species hate each other, they will wipe each other out on their own."Mothma is a prick. Never forget that by her weird demilitarizion and ignoring the FO. It would lead to hell being unleashed on the galaxy
"That's right mortal. By channeling my divine rage into power, I have forged a new instrument in which to destroy you."She demilitarized the Galaxy in a misguided attempt to not create a powerful government that could oppress and for all purposes messed up worse than the Old Republic.
As The Lost World: Jurassic Park had spelled out:
"Don't worry, I'm not making the same mistakes again."
"No, you're making all new ones."

"Bingo! If two species hate each other, they will wipe each other out on their own."Stuff like this is why I really dislike the ST and wish we had something more in line with the Legends storylines.
As silly, weird, and just plain bad as the Legends could be at their worst, as their best they’re head and shoulders above the canon ST.

At least the ot heroes get to win their. And live happy lives with their families
"That's right mortal. By channeling my divine rage into power, I have forged a new instrument in which to destroy you."And Legends New Republic pushes through adversity despite getting it worse than Canon NR
"Bingo! If two species hate each other, they will wipe each other out on their own."Oh cool. I see we lasted about two before going back to whining about the movies in the animated series thread.
Awesome.
Legends also had more interesting aliens and technology.
I'm still annoyed that most Star Wars series have a predominantly human cast.
Are there any plans for more animated material after Clone Wars? And how did Resistance do? It didn’t seem to attract nearly the level of noise CW and Rebels did.
Resistance is just their. It's one of those shows that no one seemed to really talk about or care about unlike clone wars or rebels.
"That's right mortal. By channeling my divine rage into power, I have forged a new instrument in which to destroy you."I heard there were rumors of a Rebels sequel series, but dunno if there really is one in the works.
"Bingo! If two species hate each other, they will wipe each other out on their own."I highly doubt that Disney will abandon animated works in the future, its just that TCW comes back in like two weeks and they probably don't want to pull attention away from what may well be the single most well-recieved and unifying work in the franchise.
My guess is that whatever the next major animation project is (and more specifically the continuation of Ahsoka and Ezra's stories) is being kept in secret for after the grand finale. Probably to be formally announced this summer.

PSN ID: FateSeraph | Switch friendcode: SW-0145-8835-0610 Congratulations! She/TheyThat would be A New Hope, and the only reason I’m not saying “and it’s not even close” is because The Empire Strikes Back makes it pretty close.
Y'know, I hadn't thought about it but you're right that we should have seen more of Alderaan. TCW is all about the juxtaposition between what is happening onscreen and the overbearing knowledge of what it's all leading to. Spending time fleshing out Alderaan and really making people feel the tragedy that will come for them in 20-30 years would have been great.

My Tumblr. Currently liveblogging Haruhi Suzumiya and revisiting Danganronpa V3.And a lot of this stuff is why I think Old Republic stuff would be cool. You can do a lot with different eras, and showing the era when the Sith are apparently beaten for good means you can show the Republic at its prime!
Though it would also be cool to see a foundation of the Republic story, if only because you can have tons of factions. (I want a balkanized GFFA is that so wrong?)
My AO3
You know... if they had just made Naboo... Alderaan
then just make Padme and Bail cousins 'you'd still have to explain why they split the twins up but suddenly Bail's being willing to adopt Leia makes more sense and you could still have the weird democratic monarchy
Alderaan is a core world what says you're government system is inflexible over bloated and corrupt then when one of the Oldest civilizations is effectively invaded and nothing is really done.
Boom you have the seeds of the Clone wars and The Rebel Alliance planted in one go ' Alderaan has to deal with the crisis itself'

I'm A Pervert not an Asshole! If you use Alderaan instead of Naboo you lose the connection to Palpatine.
True...
then again you could just make Palpy Alderaan's Senator at the moment which then shows you how little empathy Palpy has when Tarkin blows it up on a Whim 'then again cut content in A New Hope implied that Tarkin might be thinking about crowning himself Emperor now that he has the Death Star
I'm A Pervert not an Asshole!I guess the idea is to avoid the Doomed Hometown trope. Also the implications of meeting an entire species, seeing them fight to liberate their home, then Tarkin blows it up with nary a concern.
And that may be why Vader warned everyone “the ability to destroy a planet is insignificant next to the power of the Force.”

Pfft, I'd like to see the Force blow up a plan—
Oh, wait, Malachor V exists. Well, steady on, then.
Oh, wait, that's not canon anymore. The planet's there but that whole ripped apart by Force something or other thing doesn't seem to be a thing. Ha, Tarkin wins!

My Tumblr. Currently liveblogging Haruhi Suzumiya and revisiting Danganronpa V3.Malachor V wasn't ripped apart by the Force in Legends. It was ripped apart by the mass shadow generators, which killed so many people it created a wound in the Force.
Darth Nihilus does eat a couple planets, though.
I mean something destroyed Malachor pretty bad. Since it was the site of a giant Jedi and Sith conflict it could be Force related.
The resistance trying to sAve the galaxy is basically like trying to shoo a lemming away from a cliff. It's just not going to happen.
