Bechdel-approved!
My Tumblr. Currently liveblogging Haruhi Suzumiya and revisiting Danganronpa V3.Part of the reason I want a female Revan is so she and Bastila can be the first gay couple in a major Star Wars EU work. Granted I don't view this as pretty likely.
Honestly I wouldn't mind multiple shows
I'm A Pervert not an Asshole!Old Republic shows or multiple shows in general?
Multiple shows in general.
Why would you do multiple Old Republic shows?
That was my question. Granted you could do multiple "Old Republic" shows and have them set in different time periods. We're no longer following the old EU timeline but the era was still several thousand years lasting up until at least Bane's time.
Honestly if Disney ever has the guts to have a major gay couple I would be impressed, but I'd also hope it would include Juhani as a nod to the fact she's the first gay Star Wars character.
My AO3This is C-3PO erasure and I will not stand for it.
I mean 100% confirmed in the material they appeared in gay. Headcanons and interpretations are fine, but they're not the same as canon 'has an ex girlfriend' or 'has a romance you can play even if it's pretty dummied out'
My AO3'Tis a joke.
I have not seen Resistance, so wow I didn't know any animated show had a canon couple. That's impressive, I honestly didn't think it would happen.
RE the joke... sorry, I've run into a lot of spaces where people are so big on fanon they forget it's not canon.
My AO3Man Resistance became really low-key since its release.
"I am Alpharius. This is a lie."The thing about Kreia and Brianna is there is alot of overlap between Kreia and Arren Kae
Namely
None of the Jedi masters call her Kreia but Hey YOU
Mical says Kae is Revan's original teacher and the only one that went with him to the Mando Wars
and Atton notes Kreia's not actually that old stating it takes hard living to make lines like that.
Resistance kinda has the problem that The ST factions are kinda lukewarm retreads of the empire and rebellion
The FO and the Knights of Ren have no real philosophy or point to make
The Resistance doesn't even seem to acknowledge the NR's complacency or corruption
They are little more then GI Joe vs COBRA going at it.

I'm A Pervert not an Asshole!I haven't seen Resistance. Contemplating watching Resistance made me realize I'm not actually that invested in the ST era.
I saw TCW because the fall of the Republic and rise of the Galactic Empire is a fascinating time period for me. It has a unique dynamic not often seen in media.
Rebels, I was much iffier on because it's hard to care about the Rebel Alliance. In the OT, they mainly serve as the provider of expendable mooks. Even now, there's a weird thing where even stuff focused on the Rebel Alliance doesn't care about the Rebel Alliance; in both Rogue One and Rebels, there comes a point where the Rebels are too busy cowering in impotence to try and stop the Empire, so the main characters flip them off and go do it themselves.
Like. Star Wars writers really don't like the Rebel Alliance. They're really dedicated to just never publishing stories where the Rebels are good guys who fight the Empire and are good at it. We always have to have protagonists who are technically Rebels but are renegades and cowboys and don't do what the shitty Rebel leadership tells them to.
So it's kinda hard to get behind watching new stuff focused on the Rebels when Star Wars writers are constantly telling me how much the Rebels suck even in those works. Resistance is just like, "Okay, I know I'm constantly going on about how shitty the Rebels are, but get this: what if it's actually shitty knock-off Rebels, and they're fighting a shitty knock-off Empire that basically has nothing to do with the characters and concepts you were invested in before?"
And I literally have a million better things to do than sit down for that.
Though I am liking The Mandalorian. All the stuff Dave Filoni did with Mandalorians in TCW and Rebels gave me the buy-in hook that got me to sit down for it. I was very interested to see what became of the Mandalorians after they joined the Galactic Civil War in Rebels.
And the answer is very confusing. The stuff about Mandalorian culture in that show makes me really wonder if Dave Filoni, when he was making it, has ever actually seen Dave Filoni's work in TCW and Rebels. 'Cause there's some pretty big schisms between what Dave Filoni and Dave Filoni wrote for the Mandalorians.

My Tumblr. Currently liveblogging Haruhi Suzumiya and revisiting Danganronpa V3.There does seem to be a big disconnect with the Rebels as the good guys in this modern era
I mean at least they are competent in the OT to set up shit and prevent Main character do everything syndrome plus you do have Wedge and Ackbar tertiary that give the Rebels a face
However NEU that divide is on clear display once the Empire packs up and leaves.
The Hardlining Hawks are immediately ostracized and villainized cause the more political aspect of the NR don't want to be the Empire.
Mon Mothma is the fucking devil...
The Resistance... if they are named They die usually due to their leaders own stupidity.
I'm A Pervert not an Asshole!Yeah, that's something I don't like about a lot of modern works about the Rebel Alliance. They try to build it up as a good thing, but then suffer from Protags Rebel and Do Everything. At least once it would be nice to have a member of Rebel leadership be a competent protagonist. (Come on spijinks book about Mon Mothma and Bail Organa in the Imperial Senate trying to build up the early rebellion)
My AO3I feel like we’re overdue for a story about Bail Organa specifically.
Bail is one of the founders of the Alliance and Obi-wan serving him was a plot detail in A New Hope.
Yet he is kinda underused
Clone Wars didn't have him as a recurring Character 'having alderaan as a recurring setting would be heartbreaking'
Honestly he is kinda an Uncle Ben figure
on the Rebels/Resitance
I mean the Bantam Era the Alliance was Competent
it just had Several conflicting Larger than life personalities but were the most part willing to help a Galactic war is a big thing you need other heroes to pull things off
Del Ray's era is when the Apathetic nature started to creep in
Token Traitors 'not even Imperials but straight up Self serving Senators who would gladly sell the Galaxy out
the FUCKING peace brigade
all culminating in the crowning moment of Stupid... They elected DAALA of all people leader of the GA
Disney's NEU
seemingly just takes the Bit in Rouge One with the Alliance split and basically took Garm's impression of Mon Mothma as Fact instead of his flawed interpretation of her.
I'm A Pervert not an Asshole! Was this a typo? Because I recall him being a recurring character, particularly in episodes about Padme and Senate politics.
Oh God! Natural light!I recall him being a recurring minor character
but never a got a big focus arc
I mean
he did get mugged by a Selkath...
Bacta will give you cancer! consider switching to pure clean Kolto!
I'm A Pervert not an Asshole! The Rebel Alliance also crashes on a brick wall due the constraints of the ST era involving the Empire more or less surviving stronger than ever by way of the First Order. In theory, a era post Palpatine would be the time for the rebel alliance to shine, washing away the remnants of the Empire and bringing things to closure in a free galaxy at last.
Instead they drop the ball massively and let the empire come back on steroids.
Welp.
"All you Fascists bound to lose."The new republic funded the first order too making them just as inept and corrupt as the old republic.
"That's right mortal. By channeling my divine rage into power, I have forged a new instrument in which to destroy you."The Galaxy created at the end of the ST just makes you count the days for the new Empire to come. Or the rock to fall.
Wake me up at your own risk.
Here’s a question: Do you think we’re reaching the point where we might have multiple animated shows in development/production at the same time?
Previously, we’ve had one televised series at a time (The Clone Wars, Rebels, Resistance), and occasionally a web-based series alongside it (Forces of Destiny, Galaxy of Adventures). With Disney+ now being a success, and multiple live action series in development at once (The Mandalorian, Cassian, Obi-Wan), will we see multiple Star Wars animated series air on a cycle on the service?
