...I ain't. Only good thing Blur did was "Song 2" and Oasis is meh to me.
It's not exactly naive. And it can happen. But it's tough. And definetly worthwhile.Yeah, I'm in agreement here, the only good thing about British Pop during the 90s was that it was slightly better than the 80s. I mean, Billy? Spice Girls? Take That? I'd rather burst my drums with a hot iron rod.
"There's more evil in the charts then an Al-Qaida suggestion box" - Bill BaileyThere's always going to be dumb pop, though, so I don't think I'd ever rate an era based on the dumbness of its pop. Rather, whether there was intelligent stuff out there popular enough to get known.
A brighter future for a darker age.Have to agree on the Take That/Spice Girls front. There were a lot of mediocre boy/girl bands especially in the late 90s - but there always are. I can't go along with 'Song 2' being Blur's only good song though. 'Parklife', 'End of a Century' and 'The Universal' are pop classics.
"Well, it's a lifestyle."Oh I'll take the Spice Girls over the Katy Perry and Keshas of today. Sure they were dumb, but they were fun dumb.

Emperor Wu liked cake, but not exploding cake! No, just dumb.
At least these new ones are actually kind of attractive. I mean, like, high class prostitute attractive, but still...
Charlie Tunoku is a lover and a fighter.Nope.
Emperor Wu liked cake, but not exploding cake!Nope? I'll nope your nope down into a straight no!
Charlie Tunoku is a lover and a fighter. As this is the 90s thread, I just have this to say...
We're all stars now... in the Nope Show!
-is probably violating the spirit of mature discourse-
Emperor Wu liked cake, but not exploding cake!Speaking of the 90's (what was this thread about anyways?) anybody remember Legend of the Hidden Temple, the gameshow?
Charlie Tunoku is a lover and a fighter.Oh god, I loved that show. I think I was in that Facebook group for people who were pissed off when kids couldn't put together the Shrine Of The Silver Monkey. It was three frikkin pieces!
Emperor Wu liked cake, but not exploding cake!Ah, All That. Now those were some entertaining sketches.

Actually, at my school recently, because they're cheap when it comes to buying new equipment. Besides that, probably not for eight years or so.

“Isn't it enough to see that a garden is beautiful without having to believe that there are fairies at the bottom of it too?”I love the nineties.
Though it's more Lostalgia in my case. I was alive from '94 on, but don't really remember anything about it. Except that Baha Men song, which might've been early 2000's anyway.
I spread my wings and I learn how to fly....Eh, I was born in '94 as well.
It's not exactly naive. And it can happen. But it's tough. And definetly worthwhile.
On the music front, the '90s if you were British meant Britpop and a truly fantastic run of bands - Blur, Suede, Oasis and all the rest of them. I remember at one point during my university days thinking to myself - "This is such a good time, people will want to get nostalgic about it in future, like the '60s."
And lo and behold...
"Well, it's a lifestyle."
