I never noticed it cause I was too busy running. I'll definitely keep an eye out for it next time I play!

Funnily enough, I think I only learned, if not of its existence, then its necessity, from our own YMMV page for thegame.

Sky Rail and Metal Harbor had some really tight timing for some of the shortest levels in the game.

Only speed stage I A-Ranked was White Jungle.

I was also able to A-Rank (iirc) both Cosmic Wall and Security Hall. Maybe Wild Canyon and Dry Lagoon.

Sometimes it feels like Sega could be sitting on a potential gold mine, but they're trying to dig down to it with a plastic beach shovel instead of a pickaxe.

Something that just struck me about this scene. It hints that there's more to Sonic than meets the eye, and that's something the franchise has occasionally toyed with

• the echidna murals in Sonic and Knuckles that show Sonic facing Robotnik
• the Fleetway comics had Sonic's iconic blue as a side effect of his shared origin with Robotnik
• the Boom games hinted at Sonic having some kind of connection with ancient ruins (and the show even gave him a mech that he alone could activate) but never went anywhere with it

Here, Shadow says there's no way Sonic could perform Chaos Control (and of course he can, he's the main character) but - it just hit me "there's something unusual about Sonic, he can do things that should be impossible."

I wish they'd followed up on this. Where does Sonic's speed come from? Even the movie dodges the question. What cosmic importance does Sonic possess?

Apparently Shadow / Ryuko is a thing, not unlike Sonic and Lucina except for being... well, surprisingly enough, less pornographic.

Blame the Twitter takeover.

Not really, way before the Twitter Takeover people where memeing Ryuko was basically Shadow, down to the same story.

And, naturally, Satsuki is kinda the "Sonic" to Ryuko's "Shadow".

People made these jokes too.

I believe those were the only two Kill La Kill/Sonic jokes.

On a unrealted note, this thread has 2020 pages now. What a coincidence.

Talking about 2020, there was info about a new Sonic Game but so far it isn't much.

In other news, the finally released the Sonic Channel artwork for Sonic of this year.

So, I don't know how many of you people know this, but Sonic 1 has a nasty bug in Labyrinth Zone:

At the end of both Act 1 and Act 2, don't roll and hit the goalpost. If you do, the game crashes with an "illegal instruction" error, as shown here:

"Game crashes just as you complete an act of Labyrinth zone"

Of all the diabolical traps Eggman puts, this is by far the most cruel one.

So if anyone was ever interested in the current IDW comics, but not exactly sure what they are about and how they compare to the games. Then I recommend this video series going into details about them to give you an idea on what they're about. I like this guy's content, as he's the same one who managed to get many prominent community members to speak out about their opinions on the series in his retrospective about Sonic 3. Highly recommend subscribing.

I saw an interesting edit reason on the movie's YMMV page. Do you guys think Amy is Sonic's love interest or not?

Well, I’d say that mainline Sonic doesn’t reciprocate Amy’s feelings at all, but I’d also say he legitimately thinks of her as a good friend, so that whole “The Thing That Would Not Leave” comment is no more accurate than the claim it was made against.

I'd say it depends more on the era, too. In '06 you could pick Amy in the Test of Love, not that it changes anything.

Hmm... I guess it can also be cultural difference. Here's one post analyising differences of Sonic and Amy's relationship between Japan and USA.

Meh, while Amy herself has been affected by translation, it's not like Sonic will ever proceed into a real relationship, or even show interest in one, Japanese or English version.

One of my favorite Sonic Shuffle moments is when Illumina asks Amy what her dream is, and she says it's to be like Sonic.

I believe those were the only two Kill La Kill/Sonic jokes.

You could also compare Mako to Amy. Though, dear god, don't compare Ragyo to Eggman.
