Aye! I really wish SEGA/Sonic Team would bring back Amy's affinity for the arcane. Or better yet, make her a full on Magic Knight. It can certainly explain everything about the Piko Piko Hammer, and gives Amy new moves and skills for adventuring and combat also gives a good basis for her to gain a Super Form, if ideally not the exact same as Sonic and Shadow's
And maybe people can finally stop calling Blaze "superior" for her pyrokinesis alone

Okay, I guess "bring back" wasn't fully applicable wording. But Amy's affinity for arcane and tarot cards should have been firmly established from the beginning. Certainly adds more to her character than "girl who loves shopping and baking"

It's in the Japanese Sonic CD manual. It's just never come into play in the games themselves (I think one of the Archie comics might have brought it up once, idk).

Amy's tarot cards have appeared in the games. She has the move "Tarot Draw" in Sonic Chronicles.

My point is they were established in some form, just not in any media people pay attention to. An Informed Attribute, basically.
Except that, I guess. But even that was just one move from one game that isn't even really considered canon IIRC.

There's not really any place for Amy to mention her tarot cards, so it makes sense it doesn't get mentioned much. It's just an interesting character quirk.
It could easily come up in conversation in the comics. Like maybe Sonic's at Amy's place for some reason, and he's like "Hmm? What are these?" And then Amy goes "Oh, these are tarot cards." And then it goes from there.

The comics are separate from the games and they have a tendency to do their own thing. They made Bark and Bean into antagonists because the writers didn't read their Japanese bios.
She mentioned her tarot cards in Sonic Battle, too. "My cards told me I'd find you here!"

Maybe that's how she always bumps into Sonic. According to the CD manuals, it's how she found Sonic at Little Planet.
It would also "explain" how Amy is suddenly a chameleon in Sonic 06

Maybe hedgehogs are just quirky in the Sonic-verse. Three of the four hedgehogs depicted have some sort of odd trait and the mural in Sonic 3 is also a hedgehog.
