It was changed with consensus. The thread was later revived when someone suggested another image.
The Crystal Caverns A bird's gotta sing.Eh, I still prefer the old Light picture. This one◊, to be specific.
Belief or disbelief rests with you.How do you know he's supposed to be the protagonist if you aren't familiar with the show?
Dr. Horrible is a good choice IMO. Given the name of the work it's pretty clear he's both a villain and a protagonist. Nearly everything else I can think of it is hard to know both just from one image unless you are familiar with the work. Except maybe another cover of Johnny the Homicidal Maniac.
Edit: Megamind would work too.

I'd like to suggest this◊ again.
According to the thread, someone just placed a Dr. Horrible image but the thread had not gone to an agreement.
Still favoring Mega Mind. Ookamikun, use the quoteblock instead of six arrows please.
Fight smart, not fair.XD I will, forum doesn't have that button but I'll use it now.
So, crowner?
There is no quote button and there never will be, Fast Eddie hates them.
Fight smart, not fair. The .gif is slightly grainy, but fullsized. The .png looks better, but I couldn't make it more than 250px wide without going over the maximum filesize.

Let's go with the PNG, it's more than big enough to get the point across.
The smaller one is big enough, and the quality is much better. I'd say go with the png.
Reaction Image RepositoryShould I put it up? It's been floating around for a while, and nearly unanimously agreed upon.

The Magamind one would be a good choice. Otherwise I would once again nominate the Overlord◊.
I ♥ the VRSAnd I still like the box art currently on the Destroy All Humans page. Very Villain Protagonist-y.
Rhymes with "Protracted."The Overlord is a really good image, actually. Although I think Megamind also works, so for me I'm fine either way.
I would prefer the Overlord, if only because I've actually played those games, but also because Megamind doesn't really scream "Villain Protagonist" to me. Looks more like a blue guy with a giant head. The only indicator I have is the caption above the guy, "Giving bad a good name". Overlord on the other hand looks clearly like a villain, with the spiky helmet, the Minion Horde around him, and the Glowing Eyes of Doom. He's very Obviously Evil, but the problem becomes showing that he's the protagonist of the game. That one is a bit tricky, if you ask me, as nearly everything he does is evil to an extent. I think the best thing for him is getting a screencap of him smiting some good guy-looking races (like the Dwarves) and possibly contrasting that to a more "heroic" action he can do, such as saving the Elves.
Still need More Dakka, and it's about time to start a real WAAAAAGH.Overlord and Destroy All Humans just look like pictures of the antagonist, and need either a caption or a second image to show their protagonism. Alone, they look like normal box art. "This guy is evil, therefore the object of the game must be to kill him." Though if I were to choose between the two, I would pick the Overlord one.
While I agree that Megamind isn't perfect, I would still say it's the best image we've found so far.
Surely a better image than all of these exists. We just haven't found it yet.
What makes the Overlord and Destroy All Humans examples work for me is that they're box shots, which almost always feature the protagonist.
And movie posters don't?
