"Gale is a known shapeshifter and can teleport around the ship via the shadows, those abilities could easily cover up anything the ditto is doing," he pointed out.
"Picking Gale would be a good choice," Roxy admitted, "Those abilities could be easily covered up... but we need to be careful."
Silas took a deep inhale, "What do you suggest we do? We can't very well leave her active."
Roxy gave it some thought, "We lock her in cold storage for now. If people still vanish while she's out, then she's innocent."
<Or there's another one,> Wayne pointed out walking in with Amber.
Amber sighed, <Gale, if you could please come quietly with us. The freezer in the kitchenette area will be where you are staying, your suit should keep you warm.>
Delta read over the file, "Something we've been needing to correct. DNA profiles from genetic research, my little pen drones haven't been fully up to snuff recently due to that hit I took."
"We'll need some extras, I can handle Lightwave but balancing that against getting this data will be difficult. Perhaps Kitbash with Salem as a guard for him?" Delta commented thoughtfully.

Shutter, meanwhile, continually scanned the footage for anything suspicious. He also took note of Gale's purported abilities. This was not a good sign, but no reason to jump to that conclusion, either. After all, they had a ditto with them, and their companion transforms into one. And previously, they had a zoroark with them.
And then it hit them.
Shutter: Phineas, try to scan for anything reminiscent of the purple slime we saw in the security footage after Ba'al disappeared.
Phineas: Got it.
What is telling is that Upton and Astarte rarely left slime trails. Even if they did, it was often the vaguely magenta colors associated with the ditto found on Earth. Shutter immediately found a thread. If he could correlate the presence of the purple slime, he could find the culprit.

Silas rubbed his face, "I know, I'm just... exhausted, we're all under a lot of stress. Gale, thank you for taking this so well, we just need to be certain."
Amber and Blyeth walked Gale off somberly.
Roxy felt a little weak, this was getting to her, she took a deep inhale and stepped out, "I... I have to go check the cargo hold."
Silas looked over as Roxy walked off, "I'll come with."
Roxy nodded, "Yeah I could use the help."
The repairs made to the Wing had restored some elements back to Bishop's world, "Excellent," he noted, "Time to see about fixing this problem."
He noticed a request for video footage, he smirked to himself, gave his wings a roll and set about editing the footage, intent on highlighting every last detail.
When he was satisfied, he drifted over to what controls he had left, one last little outage... and this would be all over.
In Phineas and Upton's room, the footage would come through, with some noticeable tweaks such as highlights and circles around certain parts. But there was a common thread throughout it... everywhere Silas and Gale went, there was always a trail of the purple ooze left behind...
it seemed connected to both of their feet. But the footage of Gale being carted off... her feet didn't leave any trails...
Roxy and Silas entered the cargo hold towards the forward bow of the Wing. Her home, it felt so... unfamiliar now, the upgrades changed it sure but it never seemed to really change, but now there was a entity inside it only bent on replacing all of them for some reason.
She gripped a blaster pistol, she was never a fan of these things, it wasn't her style or her method. But she was going to ensure should the Ditto come for her, she'd be ready.
There was a dripping sound, and out of the corner of her eyes she saw a familiar purple ooze, the telltale sign that the Ditto had been around. Silas eyed her, and then in an uneasy voice said; "Roxy..." she heard Silas say, she ignored him.
Over the Wing the lights went out once more...
Roxy dug out a flashlight and shoved a panel aside, there she saw the telltale sign of a silvery chromed arm, wrapped up in a cocoon of... something she saw him. Silas...
"Oh how I didn't want you to find out, this is such a shame."
She wheeled around, her heart pounding, her breathing uneven, it felt like there was a sandaconda wrapped around her chest squeezing the life out of her. She raised the Blaster Pistol, staring right at the face of 'Silas'.
"Really... I wanted to leave you for last. Cute sylveon girl, something I don't see a lot of."
Tears were rolling down her face, the blaster uneasy in her hands.
"Come now, I'm still Silas... sure he's wrapped up there, awaiting his fate but honestly. Just put the blaster down and let me be, this is a nice ship... it'd fetch quite the mint. You can't pull the trigger."
Roxy took a few deep inhales, whatever she felt was quickly giving rise to anger, her grip steadied.
The imposter stepped into the light, his face illuminated, he looked so much like Silas... that only made Roxy angrier, she pulled the trigger.
The Imposter stumbled, a hole appeared in him, "Okay... ow! Rude!"
Roxy pulled the trigger again and again, the blaster bolts destabilizing the Ditto further and further until they were nothing but a pile of unstable goo. Roxy thought quickly and dropped the blaster and grabbed a vacuum from the locker, she sucked the ditto up and deposited him into a vacuum sealed jar.
Bishop wiped his brow, content in the knowledge it was over... and so turned the lights back on.
Roxy rushed over and pulled Silas down from the cocoon, he coughed and hacked, even spat up a bit of the purple, "guuuuh..."
Tears running down her face she hugged him tight, Silas paused for a moment... before returning the hug. "Hey, it's okay, you got him."
"I... I defended him, I never suspected it was you, I-I-"
"It's alright. They're known to be good actors," Silas assured, holding her tight, "We'll get through this."
Roxy nodded a bit, "A-Are the others-"
Silas looked over, "Yeah they're here."
Roxy took a deep inhale, and got up, "We... we need to get everyone down here."

Soon enough, they spotted the thread. They come to the obvious conclusion, though Shutter is the only one who seemed to bother mentioning it out loud. As soon as the lights went out, Upton fired a few sparks from his fingers while Astarte transformed into a charmander. This was joined by the glow from Phineas' unit.
Shutter: She's innocent. The trails stopped when it was only her. This leaves—
Upton: Yeah, we get it. It's the captain.
Phineas: Well, I told you. Someone should get her out of there. She shouldn't be punished for it.
Shutter: What do you propose we do?
The lights come back on. They receive the message.
Upton: It seems that the captain is calling us aboard.
Phineas: An obvious trap.
Shutter: Hey, when opportunity knocks.
Phineas: We set Miss Gale free and confront the imposter ourselves.
Upton: Team, let's get out of here. Tanit, hold onto the scarf for me.
Shutter takes out an apricorn ball.
Upton: Gavin, what are you up to? Wouldn't it be better if you were that lizard thing?
Shutter: Hey, we need all the firepower we can get. It's too bad Moloch can't fit in here.

As Upton and Shutter attempted to finally leave and take action, they would hear for a brief instance, "There will be no need for that."
And the lights went out.
As the ship listed in the void, the beautiful and deadly clouds of the nebula all around them... it sparked... and resumed function.
Silas leaned against a wall, "I'm gonna need to check out the medbay..." he muttered.
"Silas, what was that?" Roxy asked.
"Reset code, Bishop had it made in case of an emergency. We realized he may at some point get trapped inside the computer core and we'd need a total hard reset," Silas answered.
Bishop floated out of the wall, "Welcome back Captain."
"I'm guessing the Imposter took out the computer systems as Bishop would have rendered their plan pointless..."
Roxy nodded, and grabbed the jar, "What do we do with this?"
With everyone united, the prisoners of the ditto untethered, and Silas taking some pain medication, "Alright hello and welcome everyone. Glad to see we've got everyone back," he said.
Arthur rolled his shoulders, "So, one last meeting. What are we here to discuss?"
Roxy set the jar down, letting everyone star at the purple ooze wriggling inside, a pair of eyes appeared... they looked displeased.
"What do we do with this," Roxy answered.
~Hold up,~ Hacks interrupted, ~How did it even get us all so quickly? How did it know what to say as Silas?~
"Dittos typically take on traits of the form they are mimicking and can even mimic moves they have used before," Bishop explained, "It seems this particular species based on my preliminary scans reveals also is psychic thus read Silas's mind."
"And based on the fact that my mon form has extreme speed as a move," Silas added, "It wouldn't be too hard for it to mimic that."
~Huh... so it's dangerous then.~

(Triton dodges the Pikachu's attacks, before once again- wordlessly launching towards the regular jester-hatted Pikachu in a burst of water.)

Hoops munches on an apple, having been calmly watching the battle. They offer half of it to Kec, who gladly takes a small bite.
Kec: <Well, that was very impressive. You're really raising your pokemon well, Kim.>
Hoops: Yeah, I'm impressed. I guess I was wrong when I said you can't raise that many pokemon effectively.
Kec: <Oh and Hatty, sorry that had to happen to you. When I heard what they did to you, I almost jumped into the battle myself.>
They offer all the others an apple.
Hoops: Anyway, I guess we're just waiting for Ian to get back before we move on to Ballonlea. Does anyone have a game or something?
Wyndon Museum
Hoops: So I guess you got a new team member, Evs. Since I got Cof as well, I suppose this museum trip wasn't such a waste of time after all.
They realise they're in the presence of people that run the museum and look around for help, before sighing.
Hoops: I mean... I'm so glad that this museum trip, which I had been looking forward to for so long, actually managed to exceed my expectations! Yippee!

You remember the Dream World? Well, between roughly it and the Waking World is a place called the Collective Unconscious. It's where Mindscapes are, but more pertinent to our purposes, outside of them the beliefs of humans and Pokémon manifest as demons, and their hidden aspects as Shadows. Those humans and Pokémon who can tame their Shadows make them become Personas and Pokésonas.
That app we have, with the proper keywords, allows us to visit a portion of it known as the Metaverse.
