What's this about made-up Pokemon?

Oh, sure.

-Flicks through book, coming to rest on a page showing three pokemon. The first is a carved pumpkin with a small flame on the stem, the second has vine-like arms and legs as well and the third is pretty much a Golurk made of various pumpkins-

Okay, that first one is Jacklit, the second one is Lantyne and the third is Gourlem. I've only got a description of Gourlem yet.

Gourlem, the Pumpkin Collective Pokemon:

The interior of Gourlem is in a constant state of growth and decay. By igniting the methane produced by this decay, Gourlem can expell massive spouts of flame from it's head and arms.

Yeah, what else would you expect from something orange with vines?

I do not know. Buizel are orange, after all.

Yeah, but this has vines. So it would have to be a grass type. Right?

-Finishes up writing, checks in on my pokemon I left in my box and then tries to get some sleep-

Actually, I have plans to involve the Dream World sort of when we have to rescue Elite Four. Long story short, Caitlin's psychic powers will put herself and the other three members of the Elite Four into Convenient Coma, and we'll have to enter Caitlin's mind using her Musharna's dream mist in order to save them all.

- Has somehow managed to calm myself down, and has gone back to training my Pokémon -

Sorry I freaked out like that earlier, guys. I guess I just don't take it well when small children become the subjects of evil plans. Partially because I miss my own childhood...

Artemis: <Why would you miss your childhood? Didn't you tell us that your childhood sucked?>

Actually, it was mostly my early teen years that were rather lonely and...

Chase: (standing in front of Artemis) <Don't be mean to DS! Leave her alone!>

Artemis: <I wasn't being mean, I was just making an observation!>

Chase: <DS is our trainer, we must treat her with respect. Continue your training, you need to be stronger!>

Artemis: <Chase, what has gotten into you? You haven't spoken to us since you were a Tranquill, and now you're just complaning?>

Chase: <I'm complaining because you're not training so we can help DS earn her next badge!>

Artemis: <Chase, stop acting like you're better than us! We're friends!>

Chase: <Friends? Ha! The only one who matters to me at all is DS.>

- Artemis looks rather shocked at this, my other Pokémon stop what they're doing and look over at the two Pokémon -

Chase! Apologize immedietly!

Artemis: <No, no... It's all right... I...> (runs off)

Goggles: <Don't worry, I'll cheer her up!> (runs after Artemis)

Chase, now look what you've done! You've hurt Artemis' feelings!

Chase: <Oh, please. As if she actually cares about anything I say.>

Munna: <Chase seems to be a jerk. Or worse.>

- Artemis sits by herself in one of the caves -

Artemis: <As if Chase could hurt my feelings... It's not like I considered him to be my closest friend or anything...> (sigh) <I can't believe I respected that... that... that bird-brain!>

- Goggles walks over to her -

Goggles: <Oh, there you are, Artemis!>

Artemis: <I'm not upset or anything, I just...>

Goggles: <Don't worry, I'll cheer you up! I'm going to tell you a story!> (clears throat) <Once upon a time, there was a princess who was engaged to a handsome knight. But one day, an evil sorceress came and murdered the knight for absolutely no reason. The princess was naturally devastated by the sudden death of her fiance, and so, she picked up the knights sword... and KILLED EVERYONE!>

- Artemis jumps back in surprise at the final line, as Goggles just smiles cheerfully at her -

Artemis: <... What.>

Goggles: (cheerfully) <So you see, Artemis. There are people out there with far worse problems than you, so try not to worry too much about it!>

Artemis: <... Thanks... I think...>

((Gatta go.))

- While I'm trying to talk some sense into Chase, Ribbons sits there with a somewhat concerned look on her face while Crush tries to cheer her up -

Ribbons: <I'm still not sure if I want to evolve... I want to help DS get the remaining badges so I can meet my mother, and she said that change isn't necessarily a bad thing... I don't know what to do...>

Crush: <Oh, come on, Ribbons! Cheer up! DS said just to wait until you're ready to evolve!>

Ribbons: <...>

Crush: <... I know! Let's have some fun! Come on, let's play!>

- Crush starts affectionally licking Ribbons' face -

Ribbons: <Hahaha! Stop that, it tickles!>

Crush: <Let's forget our problems for a while and just go have some fun!>

Ribbons: <Okay!>

- Crush and Ribbons start happily chasing after a wild Cubchoo while I'm still talking to Chase, meanwhile, in Icirrus city -

A Mienfoo from Dragonspiral tower: <Last night... I had a dream... The one I've been waiting for... We will finally meet.>

Chase: <All I'm saying is that your other Pokémon don't seem very grateful to have such a great trainer as you! I mean, you're smart, you're pretty, you're very nice...>

- Artemis and Goggles return -

Oh, hey, Artemis. How do you feel?

Artemis: <Better, I think.>

- I pet Artemis on the head -

That's good to hear.

Goggles: (looking around) <Isn't something missing here?>

Huh? Oh no! Where's Ribbons and Crush? Did they wander off on their own?

- Artemis, Goggles and I hurry back to the other trainers in the group while Chase stays behind -

Chase: <... Well, guess I can probably find those kids on my own. How much trouble could they possibly have gotten into?> (flies off in the direction Crush and Ribbons ran off to earlier)

- As I reach the other trainers -

Guys! Have you seen Ribbons and Crush anywhere?

Artemis: <Don't worry, DS. They're just kids, how much trouble could the possibly have gotten themselves into?>

- Meanwhile, in another tunnel, Ribbons and Crush are being chased by an angry Beartic for bothering her son -

Ribbons: <I thought DS said there weren't any wild Beartic in this cave?>

Crush: (panting) <I know that, and you know that, but does the Beartic know that?>

- The two of them keep running as the angry polar bear Pokémon chases after them -

Pink: <ILL TAKE A CHOCOLATE COVERED WAFFLE WITH SPRINKLES AND WHIP CREAM PLEASE! Huh?>

-pink leaves me with my pokemon and she heads to cave-

Pink: <I think I just heard ribbons and crush! CRUSH! RIBBONS! COME OVER HERE I HEARD A BEARTIC!>

- I realize that most of the trainers are still asleep -

Come on, I need help! Two of my Pokémon... (I notice that Chase is not with us) No, three of my Pokémon are missing!

Artemis: (notices Pink heading into one of the tunnels) <Maybe she can take us to them?>

- We decide to follow Pink, meanwhile, the Mienfoo from earlier has decided to head into Twist mountain -

The Mienfoo: <Surely, she must be in here somewhere...>

- Ribbons and Crush end up running right into the Mienfoo -

The Mienfoo: <Do you mind? I'm looking for someone.>

Crush: <Sorry, but... ANGRY BEARTIC!>

- The Mienfoo looks up to see the angry Beartic charging forward -

The Mienfoo: <... Get behind me, you two.>

- Ribbons and Crush step back as the Mienfoo steps forward, prepared to fight the polar bear Pokémon -

The Mienfoo: <... Bring it on.>

- The Mienfoo leaps into the air, kicking the Beartic in the face using fake out, before striking it hard with force palm -

Ribbons and Crush in unison: <Wow...>

- The Mienfoo lands in front of the two, and uses detect to shield them as the Beartic tries to attack them, at which point, Chase shows up -

Chase: <Hey, ugly!> (the Beartic turns around) <Leave those kids alone!>

-pink heads to ribbons and crush-

Pink: <RIBBONS! CRUSH! THAT THING IS DANGEROUS GET OUT NOW!>

-pink charges at beartic ready to use double slap-

-munna has been stalking pink-

Munna: <Why is she risking herself to protect those idiots despite the fact that she is weak?>

- The Beartic angrily attacks Chase, hitting him hard due to the type advantage -

Chase: <Ah!> (falls to the ground)

Ribbons and Crush: (in unison) <Chase!>

- The Mienfoo attempts to get another attack on the Beartic, but the Beartic ends up smacking her with its paw, knocking her back down before turning its attention back on Chase -

Chase: <No! Stay back!>

Crush: <Ah, no! Ribbons! Do something!>

Ribbons: <Like what?>

- At point, Goggles, Artemis and I manage to catch up to them, having been lead there by Pink -

Artemis: <Chase!> (leaps into battle, landing between Chase and the Beartic (who doesn't seem to notice that Pink is trying to doubleslap her) and glaring at the polar bear Pokémon)

Chase: <A-Artemis?>

Artemis: <Leave that bird alone!> (leaps at Beartic's face, using fake out)

- The Beartic roars and scratches at Artemis, leaving a notch in her left ear -

Artemis, use slash!

- Artemis leaps forward and slashes at the Beartic with her claws, the Mienfoo looks up at us -

The Mienfoo: <Could it be...?>

Now, use assurance!

- Artemis strikes Beartic again, getting a critical hit and knocking it out -

-wakes up slowly, only to hear the loud noises of people and Pokemon running through the tunnels. Releasing Mace and Sammy, we go to investigate-

-pink sees a cubchoo walking to beartic-

Cubchoo: <Mommy why are you ACHOO! Attacking people again? Have you been eating the tiny mushrooms again?>

Ribbons: (to the Cubchoo) <We're sorry if we were bothering you earlier...>

Crush: <Yeah, we just wanted to play!>

- Artemis walks up to Chase -

Chase: <Artemis... You saved me...>

Artemis: <Well, yeah. Of course. You may have been a jerk, but you're still my team mate.>

Chase: <...> (embraces Artemis) <Oh, Artemis! I'm so sorry! Everyone, I'm sorry about the way acted! Please forgive me!>

Artemis: (hugging Chase) <It's okay, buddy.>

The Mienfoo: (staring at Artemis, from her point of view, Artemis is surrounded by sparkles) <Such a powerful creature...> (looks over at me) <... It must be her, the one I've waited for so long.> (walks over to me)

Well done, Artemis! (notices the Mienfoo) <Huh?>

The Mienfoo: <I've come from the Dragonspiral tower, seeking a girl with a mind clear as crystal. Seeing the way you rescued your Pokémon from that Beartic, I believe it must be you. Tell me, what is your name?>

Uh... It's DS.

The Mienfoo: (kneels down in front of me) <Master DS, hear my request. I would like you to help me become stronger, teach me new ways to fight. Please, let me join you.>

Oh... Well... Sure, why not? I've been looking for a sixth member for my team.

The Mienfoo: <Thank you, master DS.>

-Pink heads to munna and stares at him-

Munna: <....What?!>

pink: <You're lying about you were following you're sister.>

Munna: <What are you talking about?>

Pink: <You were not stalking you're sister. You were stalking daisy.>

Munna: <.....How did you know half the truth?>

Pink: <I'm a neutral born nurse. Why do you think?>

Munna: <Fine you caught me. I was looking for the heart of gold. But there were 2 so I had to pick at random.>

Pink: <You thought that was daisy?>

Munna: <Yes. That mienfoo over there and I heard about heroes of destiny and that stuff and we decided to follow them. Mienfoo wanted the mind clear as crystal while I wanted the heart of gold. I thought that if I followed the heart of gold I might be able to....>

Pink: <Be able to?>

Munna: <.....Learn about my feelings...I may be a psychic pokemon but I am bad at empathy. I cant understand feelings like you and daisy.>

-munna heads to mienfoo-
