Kim: (takes the business card) "You work for Macro Cosmos? Interesting." (She takes out her business card.) "If you're willing to do any linguistic research... Striaton City Trainer's School."

Kim: "Wait a second... you don't speak Japanese, do you?"

Daisuke: Jitsuwa sōdesu. Nani o iitaidesu ka?^* Actually, I do. What would you like me to say?

Kabu: Let's start this show! Ninetales, use Flamethrower! Arcanine, use ExtremeSpeed!

-Ninetales unleashes a stream of fire on Mirai while Arcanine charges ahead at blinding speeds.-

Me: Oshawittle, stop Arcanine with Razor Shell!

Evelyn: Mirai, use Psychic on yourself to dodge the flames!

-Oshawittle steps into Arcanine's path, takes his scalchop, from which a glowing blue blade forms at the tip, and slashes at Arcanine with the blade.-

-Mirai surrounds herself in a psychic aura, which she uses to levitate out of the path of the roaring flames.-

Motostoke Stadium

Hoops leans in close to Kec. "I think this guy is crazy. Who jumps out a window."

<It's not polite to whisper> Led scolds them. <Although, I do have to agree. This person makes me uneasy.>

<I could jump out of a window> Sal boasts.

"Don't," Hoops warns. Then they turn to the newcomer.

"Hello, sir. My name is Hoops, and I'm a recently made friend of your daughter."

Motostoke Stadium

Daisuke: It's a pleasure to meet you, Hoops. And, I apologize if I'm weirding you out... I mean, normal people don't just jump out of windows willy-nilly...

Motostoke Stadium

(Kim suddenly notices the battle starting and smiles.)

Kim: "Nothing. The battle's starting."

Peechee: (going into his bloodthirsty mode) <THIS IS IT! THE BITVA HAS NACHINATTED! ^note  begun >

Geddy: <Ooh! This should be fun!>

Motostoke Stadium

"I'm not trying to be rude or anything, but you probably get why I'm a bit skeptical. I mean, surely it would have been fine if you'd taken the lift and been a couple of minutes late to the battle, right?"

Kec tugs on their sleeve and points to the screen. <You should watch this.>

Hoops gives Daisuke one last suspicous look, and then returns to their seat to watch the battle.

"Oh oh! The newlyweds are opening their gifts!"

Des watched as they went to the gift table.

Des's gift to them was in a rectangular box in plain brown paper.

If opened they would find a matching pair of 18th C Flintlocks and a note that said "couldn't find Romulan Ale so here's the next best thing :P -Desmond and Kaiiseii".

Lumiose Outskirts, Near-Dilapidated House, 15 Minutes Later

Lita and Evaline were laughing and chatting it up when the back door opened and Des climbed back into the house. Danielle was close behind. Lita stared at her pastdad and opened her mouth to say something before deciding it was best to not say anything right then and there. She knew by the look on her father's face that this visit was a mistake.

Des: "Let's go, Lita."

Des headed for the door immediately. A bit taken aback by his bluntness, Lita quickly said her goodbyes and thank yous then followed her father. Danielle took the seat opposite of Evaline, staring off to the side with her head hung in shame. She seemed to be avoiding looking at her son as he departed. Evaline left her chair and got on her knees to look up into Danielle's sullen eyes. She gave her hands a reassuring squeeze.

Evaline: "You told him, didn't you?"

A nod was the only response that came. Evaline stood up and gently cradled Danielle.

Evaline: "It's ok. It would have been crueler to not have told him."

Outside Lita called out to Des, begging him to wait up. Des begrudgingly slowed down as the pair walked down the road together.

Lita: "...I'm sorry."

Des: "Don't be. I needed this. I really needed this. It's a bit of a shock."

Lita: "I guess you weren't expecting your mom to have a girlfriend, huh?"

This made Des stop dead in his tracks.

Des: "...That was mom's girlfriend?"

Lita: "...uh, yeah? I mean it was obvious the second I walked in there. Evaline is great by the way, you'll warm up to her easily. Did you know that her grandmother-"

Lita couldn't finish what she was about to say as Des started walking again. She once again caught up to him.

Lita: "So wait, your mother didn't come out of the closet to you?"

Des only slowly shook his head.

Lita: "Then...what did she tell you?"

No response came.

-Daisuke shrugs and thinks "Oh well. You can't please everyone..." before turning to watch the battle.-

Motostoke Stadium, VS Kabu

Kabu: Arcanine! Use Iron Head on Kirlia!

-Arcanine's head glows with a metallic sheen before he charges at Mirai full-speed.-

Me: Oshawittle! Use Protect!

Kabu: Not so fast! Ninetales, use Extrasensory!

Evelyn: Mirai! Use Psychic on Ninetales!

-Oshawittle raises his scalchop, preparing to summon a shield of light to protect Mirai from Arcanine's Iron Head, while Kabu's Ninetales' eyes glow pink and she lashes out at Oshawittle with a psychic force. At the time, Mirai's eyes glow pink, and she traps Kabu's Ninetales in a psychic force, motioning to throw the nine-tailed fox Pokémon at Kabu's Arcanine.-

Kim: (smirks) "Well. Already, this battle is getting off to an excellent start."

Geddy: (awed) <They work so well together...>

Kim: (smiles) "They do, don't they?"

Steamdrift Way, past

Channah: Did you ever make snowmen as a kid? I used to have a pet Meowth and I tried to make snow versions of him.

The Gale And Kai Corner

-Kai giggles a bit.-

Kai: Hey, being Gale suits you, I think. And you'll still have a following even after the publicity of the League passes, as long as you still have the drive to keep doing what you're doing.

-It looks like the new supply of Aura is starting to kick in, and they're starting to look noticeably more healthy. There's still a bit of a gaunt element to their looks, but it's not as bad.-

Kai: Personally, I'm not certain I want to keep going with... y'know, number 330. I think a dramatic defeat at the hands of a hero would suit them. But it can't be too obvious, you know?

-They finish their cookie, tilting their head curiously at Gale's cookie explanation-

Kai: Ooh. Well, you definitely landed on a nice, interesting flavor. It's so good aaaaaaaa~

Slumbering Weald

???: Yeah, come on. If you're gonna do graffiti, at least do it correctly.

Me: Alright, Evelyn! Let's show these 'mons what we can REALLY do...

Evelyn: Right! Mirai! Use Psychic on my mark!

Me: Oshawittle, use Razor Shell on my mark!

-Mirai and Oshawittle stand ready to use their next attack.-

Me: Go!

-Oshawittle readies his scalchop, from the tip a light blue blade manifests and sharpens, ready for use!-

Evelyn: Now, Mirai! Use Psychic!

Me: Oshawittle, catch the Psychic with your blade!

-Mirai's eyes glow a bright pink as it catches Oshawittle's blade in a psychic force, powering it up! The powered-up blade turns pink with a radiant aura of psychokinetic power glimmering in colors like blue, gold and green. The resulting combination grants the Razor Shell properties of a Psychic-type move!

Me: Now, Oshawittle! Use Esper Shell Blade on Ninetales!

-Oshawittle charges at the Ninetales with a psychic-enhanced sword in hand, ready to strike blow with more than one type on his blade.-

Persephone Station

-Gale lets out a soft hum and nodded-

Thanks. Means a lot to have some support behind it.

-She finishes off her own cookie and sighs-

So, technique to deal with the spacesickness?

Hoops watches the battle in awe. "So, you can combine moves like that? Those two are incredible."

Sal looks at Led. <Maybe we could try that.>

<Maybe. As long as you don't come up with the move. It'll probably end in pain for me if you do.>

Motostoke Stadium- Gym Battle

Kim: "As I expected. This is why battles with these two are always fun to watch."

Geddy: (to Peechee) <We should try that sometime!... maybe.>

Peechee: <Yes. Maybe.> (then, to the stadium) <VRED THEM, IAN!>

Silas whistled at the dueling pistols, "Very impressive Des," he said, "These will look nice in my cabin on the wall."

Roxy nodded, "Get some decoration in there, it is kind of bland at times."

"It's the biggest cabin on the ship, it has an office, a bathroom, and a bed section," Silas protested.

"Yeah but every cabin has its own bathroom, it's not that special," Roxy noted, a sly grin on her face, Silas frowned a bit.

Next up was a large rectangular present from Arthur, Silas sighed and smiled a bit, "3 guess as to what this is."

"First two don't count," Roxy replied.

They opened it and inside was a set of swords, one was a dark meteoric black colour with a thick blued hilt with a modern grip. Following that was one with a silvery white blade and what almost to be blue and pink ribbons wrapping the hilt as well as a ringed pommel of sorts. Roxy and Silas looked them over, Arthur did good work. Though the more Silas looked at it... the more it felt like there were two swords here instead of-

"Hey Arthur did you have Denali cast that perception charm on these?"

Arthur just smiled and said nothing, Victor began to laugh.

"I guess the Jackal has a new blade," Silas muttered, "What are they made of?"

"Meteor iron."

Silas blinked, "Wait... that stuff is like... incredibly expensive how did you-"

Victor laughed again and Silas felt it best to not ask further.

Then, he turned to Gio, "Alright cat man let's hear it."

Roxy sighed, "Yep."

"Hear what?"

"What is the big pay cheque or marketing deal that you got us as a gift."

Gio looked genuinely insulted, "Oh just because I like to do business-"

"Yes," the newlyweds said in unison, Gio sighed and then smirked.

"You underestimate me, open that envelope there."

Silas picked up a brownish-orange envelope and looked to Roxy, who took it herself and opened it. Inside there were two tickets of sorts, depicting what looked to be some form of vaporeon woman and a umbreon man relaxing on a beach. Roxy looked to Gio who was grinning quite a bit, "Go on, press your finger against the sun."

Roxy blinked and then did so, from the tickets sprouted a wisp of blue light as suddenly, a holographic advertisement was playing, of course Foxverse tech would somehow shove holoprojectors into paper tickets.

"Come to Shantan IV, your peaceful paradise resort world. Enjoy our beaches, the deep blues of our ocean, the privacy of your own resort home. Take our rapid transit autoships to many of our resort towns to interact with other guests and staff. Shantan IV, paradise awaits you."

Silas and Roxy stared at Gio, Roxy was the first to speak up, "The hell did you just get us?"

"If you had figured I'd just give you money you'd be wrong, I gave something far more valuable to me in terms of pride. A vacation. Shantan worlds have a long wait list due to how many people want to go there buuuuuut... if you know the right people some strings can be pulled. For your honeymoon you have two lovely weeks all to yourselves there," Gio explained with a grin.

For Gio, everything boiled down to greed and pride, you do something because you can gain something out of it, or you gain some measure of pride for the deed. If somebody did something that seemed selfless because it had no monetary or resource gain than it was done because of pride. Silas was in a way thankful that Gio was easy to read like that.

"Thanks, genuinely, thank you. A vacation sounds real nice actually," Silas said, unsure of how else to react.

Roxy was already dreaming of relaxing in the sun on a private resort.

Gio just smirked and walked off, still fascinated that the station made use of rotational gravity instead of the more normal electric variant he was familiar with.

Galar Route 8, past

-To Channah-

Snowmen weren't really a thing I did, never really made one until I met the others.

Galar Route 8

A young girl walked with her Snom on her shoulder. "Well, it's been a wild adventure we had, hadn't we? I'd love to take a break in the Campsite. How about you, Snowy?"

<I'd love to! Let's go!> Snowy said. While Maya doesn't know Monese, she can understand her Pokemon's body language. "You seem excited as well. Sure, let's head there."

Motostoke Stadium, VS Kabu

Kabu: -smirks- Ninetales...

-Kabu's Ninetales looks back at Kabu.-

Kabu: Subdue that Oshawott... Saiminjutsu o shiyō!^*  Use Hypnosis!

-Ninetales nods to Kabu then turns to face Oshawittle, her eyes glowing a deep red color, as lavender flames manifest at the tips of each of her tails, which dance around and converge in front of the Ninetales' face, then with a howl, the flames turn into lavender waves of energy mixed with red focused on Oshawittle! Oshawittle makes eye-contact with the Ninetales, only to catch a facefull of the lavender energy waves and stop in his tracks, with his eyes glazing over...-

Me: Oh no!

Oshawittle: <So... sleepy...>

Mirai: <Oshawittle!>

Kabu: Now, Arcanine! Use Iron Head!

-Arcanine's forehead glows with a metallic sheen as he charges headlong into Mirai, sending her flying backwards.-

Evelyn: Mirai!

(Kim, Geddy, and Peechee see what is going on and all three of them react in completely different ways: Kim grimaces, Geddy's eyes widen in shock, and Peechee reacts exactly how you'd expect.)

Geddy: (horrified) <Oshawittle! Mirai!>

Kim: (to herself) "I figured something like this was going to happen. Now that I know for a fact that Ninetales has Hypnosis... I'll need to find a way to combat that."

Peechee: (absolutely furious) <OH NO YOU DON'T! YOU PUT OSHAWITTLE TO SPAT?! ^note  sleep YOU MERZKY ^note  filthy NINETALES YOU'RE ITTYING TO BE VREDDED FOR THIS! DON'T YOU DARE OOBIVAT ^note  faint, kill MY DROOGS ^note  friends !> (then, to Oshawittle and Mirai) <AND DON'T YOU DVA DARE GIVE UP NOW!>

Motostoke Stadium

Hoops gasps. "They were that strong, but he was still able to knock them down like that. Just how good is this guy."

<That Hypnosis could be a problem> Kec observes.

<No> Led shakes her head. <I got this. You know what to do.>

Hoops nods. Their pokemon is right.

"Come on, Ian, Evelyn!" they shout, despite the fact that they know their friends can't hear them. "I'm up next, so finish this quickly!"

Motostoke Stadium, VS Kabu

-Mirai picks herself up, though reels from taking the full brunt of the Iron Head attack. Not helping her case is the fact that she is part-Fairy type.-

Evelyn: Mirai, are you okay?

Mirai: <I'm fine... but Oshawittle definitely needs a wake-up call. Don't worry about that. I'm on it.>

Evelyn: Use Psychic!

-Mirai runs towards Oshawittle, her eyes glowing pink, she lifts Oshawittle into the air and throws him at Arcanine! The shock from the impact snaps Oshawittle out of it.-

Oshawittle: <Gah, I'm awake!>

Kabu: Most impressive! Now let's show you what we can really do! Ninetales, use Solarbeam! Arcanine, use Play Rough!

-Kabu's Ninetales howls to the sky, gathering sunlight in its mouth, while Arcanine charges headlong at both Mirai and Oshawittle!-

Motostoke Stadium

(Upon seeing that Oshawittle has woken up, Geddy and Peechee happily react.)

Geddy: <YES! He's awake!>

Peechee: <THANK GOODNESS!>

(Kim, however, appears more grave, realizing that Ninetales is about to use a supereffective move on Oshawittle.)

Kim: (to herself, gravely) "Yes, but..."

(Geddy and Peechee turn towards Kim.)

Geddy: <Oh? What's wrong?>

Kim: "Ninetales is using Solar Beam, which is a Grass-type move."

(Geddy and Peechee both realize it, and turn to each other in shock.)

Geddy: (horrified) <And Grass beats Water! Which means...>

(Kim nods. On cue, Peechee's claw starts shaking and he turns straight towards the stadium.)

Peechee: (screaming down at Oshawittle) <NO! THAT'S A GRASS-TYPE MOVE! DON'T GET TOLCHOCKED ^note  hit , OSHAWITTLE! AND IF YOU DO... THE NINETALES IS GOING TO PAY!>
