-He grabs the brim of his hat.-

-And he launches a flurry of punches.-

Tommy, meanwhile, glitches out as he rolls, then runs, toward the square. Aranos finally catches up to his trainer. They run to an alley.

Aranos: <Okay, I've got to admit that the old man wheelchair thing was badass, but this has gone too far.>

Aranos: <Every other alternate version of you is a wimp.>

Dieselpunk Tommy: What are you trying to get at, exactly?

Aranos bites Tommy in the lower left arm. He falls over, screaming in agony, and then glitches into Arachna-Guy again.

Arachna-Guy: Way to make me relive a traumatic teenhood memory.

Aranos: <I forgotten how much pain it caused you. It was funny though. You weren't gonna die.>

Arachna-Guy: No it wasn't. And it hurt for days.

He recognized who the Adonis project was. Upton: The hotshot new guy from work.

He fired several shots of the expanding polymer at the feet of the giant metal bird in an attempt to slow it down.

The bird soldered on, but was sufficiently slowed by the actions of the two superheroes. Arachna-Guy saw the opening in the bird's chest cavity and the guy inside.

Arachna-Guy: Aranos, pull out as many of those panels as possible and get that guy out of there.

Aranos: <But he ate your lunch.>

Arachna-Guy: Yeah, so he eats other people's lunches in the office. We're not judge, jury or executioner, here. We're superheroes. We save everyone, including the bad guys sometimes.

Upton, of course, can understand Pokémon. He didn't need to be a genius to figure this out, but mentioning it didn't seem prudent.

Beneath them, Dr. Braun approaches the cave eagerly. He had heard that the J-Team had buried the legendary anomaly Missing No after it was defeated. The glitch was a failed attempt at Mewtwo. And where else could it possibly be? Certainly not in some anonymous ditch.

The plan was simple. Achieve the apotheosis denied to him by circumstance (and by his counterpart through the machinations of meddling heroes) by possessing the remains of the glitch that overpowered the legendaries.

It was all so close.

I noticed when she spoke Japanese she said "Watashi"^note A Japanese pronoun used to refer to oneself; in a similar vein to boku, ore and wagahai. and not "Kanojo"^note  A Japanese pronoun used to refer to a female in the third person. when I asked about what Ammy was going to say! The other stuff was more obvious, but that one little nuance I thought I'd never catch!
