Shutter: There appears to be some commotion at downtown Lumiose. Good thing we've got that touristy stuff out of the way, huh Gimbal.
Gimbal: <For about 11 minutes.>
Shutter: We should be safe here. It shouldn't be something local security can't handl-
Tommy, grabbing a knapsack and a weathered camera: I should go.
Shutter: Hold on there, Pyroar. Just where do you think you're going?
Tommy: Trust me, I just need to cover this. This was the reason why I went here.
Shutter: To cover supervillains? Look, I already sent your report to the gendarmerie. They should have it covered soon.
Tommy: And I'm documenting it. We've a dangerous occupation, Gavin. I would say it's our duty to cover anything dangerous. You don't have to go follow me; you've your own responsibilities, and I respect that.
Gimbal: <He's not gonna budge. I've a feeling the kid knows what he's doing.>
Shutter: *Sigh.*
Tommy: You've talked about that beedrill and volcarona incidents a few times. Someone's gotta get up close.
Shutter: F...fine. Just keep your distance. It was a fool's error that got us into that mess last year. Your money shots better be worth it.
Tommy, confidently: Thank you. And I shoot in RAW; it'll be a snap.

With that, Tommy enthusiastically ran out the door of their quarters and into the hallway, bag on hand.

-As it turns out, Ogden followed Jetta's example and ducked under the table, though he is nothing if not indignant about the whole affair.-

Ogden: Here! And I am not going to be driven from my own establishment by some common criminals! Rotom will see that these ruffians are chased out of-

-Dynaman swoops down and smashes into the RotomPDA with a Brave Bird, knocking it out and upturning the table that Ogden and Jetta are hiding under in the process.-

RotomPDA: Error. Error. Unable to... initialise...

Dynaman: <Have no fear! Aeroraptor and his valiant sidekick Dynaman have come to rescue you from society's grip of vice and inequity!>

-Aeroraptor walks over to the pair, chin raised imperiously.-

Aeroraptor:    Hello there! I'm supposed to ask you to hand over all your belongings at this point, but I realise you've probably got all kinds of cards that you'd have to cancel in your wallet, so I'm happy to just accept cash.

Tommy exits a Gruber ride and steps into the city center, an orange-colored phone in hand. Beside him is a joltik and a spinarak.
Tommy: Merci beaucoup.
The Gruber driver bowed her head and drove off as soon as she received her payment. Tommy looked at his phone.
Tommy: Gimbal, give this lady five stars. She's definitely earned it for taking me this close. Where exactly is that Game Corner?
Gimbal, switching on the text to speech: A few meters up ahead
Tommy: I can see a gathering of gendarmes. That should be it, I suppose.
Gimbal: Whoa. *This* is what human sounds like?
Tommy: Trust me, it's overrated, especially if you're some blowhard like Harvey. Now, I'll have to leave you to guard my stuff while I try to get close enough to get pictures. Drake and Tobi should be able to cover me by now.
Gimbal: That's... not what you're here for, isn't it?
Tommy: That's my story and I'm sticking to it.

Jetta gulped loudly, shaking. Truth be told, while she knew perfectly well these guys were a pack of idiots for making this much noise and showing up in distinctive costumes that could easily be traced back to them, that didn't make them any less dangerous right this very second. She could afford to think about their inevitable comeuppance later, when she wasn't in immediate danger of getting pecked to death or- wait, is that a Fairy-type specialist? Okay, then getting pecked is the least of her concerns.

"N-now, mister... Aero...ror-ra...raptor, w-we're not looking for any trouble..." she began to say, rummaging around in her skirt pocket for her wallet. She felt some degree of relief about the fact that her suitcase - with her Pokemon inside - was off some distance away on the floor because - WAIT, WHAT?

She shivered even harder now.

<"Hmph... it's amateur hour over here, I see..."> Jetta could hear echoing in her head. "What the hell...? Who's... don't tell me one of these freakos are psychic too... oh crap, they coulda heard me say I'm calling them a freako!" she thought. And then she could hear someone think back.

<"Calm the blazes down, you hysterical Whismur-lady... it's me, M-7.">

Jetta's eyes widened behind her glasses. "Wh... M-7? As in, my Malamar?"

<"No, as in your Togepi. Of course your Malamar! Now you listen to me, 'Miss Jetta'. I know exactly what's going on, and I can tell you're burning up your fragile little brain over what's going to happen to us. Don't worry about us... well, me. I can't speak for those other two. My psychic powers have some degree of effect on the world outside of this comfy ball-shaped prison I'm in, so... well, you'll see what happens if they try to do anything funny to you or I. And I couldn't care less if they can 'see through me'.">

-He hears Isbrand rushing him and tries to duck at the last second - unfortunately, he tries to dodge her right arm, which leads to him taking her left hook straight on the nose and recoiling.-

Aeroraptor:    OW! T-that really hurt! Turboranger, take them out!   

Turboranger: <Okay! Super Turbo Power Strike, go!>

-He swoops towards Isbrand and tries to grab her with a Sky Drop. At the same time, Shun bursts through the front entrance, eyes darting around the room to read the room and all the costumed weirdos within it.-

Shun: ...More of them? Seriously? We don't have time for this... JD, see if you can deal with them, I'll check the upper floors!

-He darts upstairs before waiting for a response.-

JD nods and then stares at Aeroraptor with clear intent, "Surrender now and no harm will come to you, resist and I will be persuaded to use force."

He slowly marches forward, "Do not test me," JD says ignoring Isabrand who is there.

Seeing her cue, Jetta almost instantly dived down to grab her dropped suitcase the moment Aeroraptor's attention was diverted. "Eheh, OKAY MR. DUPONT, WE REALLY GOTTA GO NOW, WITH THE LEAVING AND THE RUNNING AND THE AVOIDANCE OF DANGER!" she yelled, attempting to grab at his hand and pull him towards the nearest exit door.

It was then that, somehow, her suitcase - which she'd locked down pretty tight, since it was full of sensitive company documents and whatnot - suddenly began to unbuckle itself with glowing pinkish energy. Too busy trying to frantically run away, she failed to notice when the suitcase flew open... just long enough for a certain Ultra Ball to come bouncing out...

Jetta slid along the ground, freezing in her tracks. "Ohhhh boy, oh boy OH BOY OH BOY THIS IS NOT GOOD NOT GOOD NOT GOOD" she began to mentally panic.

<"Oh, be quiet, will you? I can't hear myself think over the racket you make with your thinking... don't you worry, it's all part of the plan..."> M-7 responded from within the suitcase still.

The Ultra Ball that M-7 had released popped open after a bounce, and in a flash, a Deino appeared. And immediately got pissed at something.

<"JUUUUUUUUUUUGAAAAAAHHHHHNAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAUUUUUUUUUUUT!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!"> the Deino screamed, charging at Turboranger, the nearest Pokemon that happened to be in her vicinity, and attempted to Dragon Rush him right out of the sky.

A hooded figure wearing a ski mask enters the building largely unnoticed. He is followed by a faint tapping noise that appears to come from the ventilation ducts.

As he went into one of the backrooms of the lower levels, he notices an escalating situation.

Hooded figure who is totally not a twentysomething greenhorn journalist: psssT. madam, sir, this way!

Lumiose Game Corner, Lower Level

-Despite clearly not expecting to face this kind of resistance, Aeroraptor stands his ground against JD, hoping that his slight trembling won't be noticed.-

Aeroraptor:    I will n-never surrender to the forces of justice! Neowarrior, Night Slash!   

Neowarrior: <I don't know what you think this will actually do, but alright.>

-The Honchkrow swoops down upon JD and tries to slash at him with her talons, while Turboranger is knocked away from Isbrand by Juggernaut's attack and wheels around to face her.-

Turbowarrior: <Gah! You interrupted my Turbo Power Strike! You'd better be ready to face the consequences!>

-He charges Juggernaut with a Superpower. Meanwhile, Ogden - rather taken aback - seems content to follow Jetta and the hooded figure's lead.-

Ogden: Very well. You'd better know what you're doing...

-World's Oyster vaults over and creates an ice wall to block the exit while the smokescreen is up-

The Hooded figure... somehow... grabs and pulls the briefcase toward Jetta.

Hooded guy: There are a lot of superheroes in this town. And here I thought I was having a bad day.

Gimbal—possessing a floating DSLR camera—wanders the corridors and makes her way down to where the action is, trying not to draw too much attention to herself.

Gimbal: Petersen? Petersen? Where is that kid? This is wayyy too close. Of all the things he could've left behind, he had to leave the camera.

Lumiose Game Corner

-Isbrand wordlessly opens her hand as a red katana flies into it. She adjusts her grip and takes a fighting stance, the blade crackling with electricity.-

Isbrand: "Luckily I'm just a a pissed off mechanic."

-She rushes Aeroraptor.-

-An Arcanine and a girl crash into the building. The girl is clearly Jessica in her power armor while the Arcanine looks like this but Arcanine-sized, red and black, and with a chainsaw instead of a claw.

The Armored Arcanine: <SUP BITCHES I'M THE ARMORED ARCANINE, SHE'S VULPECULA, AND Y'ALL ARE ABOUT TO GET FUCKED UP!>

Vulpecula: "You take the Fey Fiend, I'll take World's Oyster."

Hoo, boy, this was starting to get a little too complex for Jetta's liking. Some guy in a mask showed up - no reason to assume he was friendly, given all the other freakos with masks on - then smoke inhalation, a sudden chill, massive shivers, and then the man attempted to give her a suitcase? Even though she already picked up hers, so... maybe the smoke was getting to him or interfering with his balaclava, who knows and frankly who cares at this point, she thought. "Uh... thanks? Better idea, how's about you BREAK US THROUGH THIS ARCSDAMN ICE WALL, YOU MASKED FREAKO?!"

Meanwhile, at battle central a few metres away,

"<DESTROY!! DESTROY!!>" Juggernaut began to yell as the Braviary rapidly approached, and two other mons charged up their own attacks. "<BLAAAAARGRGRGRGRGHHHHH!!>" she went as she Dragon Breath'd right at Turboranger, at a moment coincident to her getting struck and making her aim off, breathing Dragon fires all over the place. The blow raised her up, making her an even bigger target for the incoming Moonblast and Ice Beam, which would surely be the end of her...

However, just as Jetta was yelling about an ice wall, as if on cue, her own suitcase opened itself again, and her other two Poke Balls came flying out, releasing Birdie and M-7 himself. Birdie's Poke Ball sent him out mid-bounce, and he flew right at the Fey Feind's Alolan Vulpix, his arm raised in a fully-primed Brick Break. "<GO... TAH HEAVEN!!"> he yelled as he landed. Meanwhile, M-7 remotely summoned a Reflect at Juggernaut's location, lessening the pain she took when those attacks knocked her down.

"<Sorry I'm late, Miss Jetta, but I couldn't have this dimwitted dragon hogging all the fun over here. I made sure Birdie knew what was going on, as much as I'd have liked to see him make a fool of himself...>" the Malamar thought-out-loud... and then he turned to the masked man. "<As for you, I'd hold onto that suitcase I gave you.>"

Aeroraptor:    A mechanic on the s-side of truth and the oppressors thereof, clearly!   

-At the same time, Turboranger is clipped by the Dragon Breath and knocked back, and though he recovers quickly he seems to be on his last legs wings.-

Turboranger: <You... you will never survive my Saiyan Super Ultimate...>

-He starts flapping frantically to fire off an Air Slash at Birdie, M-7, and the Armoured Arcanine.-

-Meanwhile, Ogden is still crouched next to Jetta and the hooded guy, looking indignant about the ice wall in front of him.-

Ogden: I thought you said you knew what you were doing! This incompetence will be logged in my minutes!

-Amidst all the smoke, Gimbal might feel someone bump into her on the stairs.-

Hooded guy: Pardon me. I got a bit distracted what with the smoke and all. You're probably thinking "ooo Mr. Unovan-accented Talking Hooded Guy you should do something and... POW!

The hooded guy kicks the ice wall a couple of times, creating a laughably small hole that should be large enough for the two of them to crawl through. It is smaller than the hooded person.

Hooded guy: Go, quickly. Ice this thick usually isn't all that easy to break. There's a group of gendarmes just outside. You should be safe with them.
He opens the suitcase.
Hooded guy: Dollar store fan. Amazingly reliable for such a cheap device. Thanks M-7; this would come in handy.

-The Vulpix attempts to freeze Jetta to prevent her from escaping but yelps from being hit by the Brick Break instead while the Aromatisse fires another smoke bomb-

Aphrodite: Normally I'd say yes, I've worked with them before... But this girl from them I helped out up and panicked as soon as I mentioned the J-Team, and told me she'd be heading off on her own soon after. If someone from that corporation gets antsy about the J-Team... We should keep an eye out.

"Oh, I'm sorry, I shoulda known a RANDOM FREAKIN' ICE WALL WOULD APPEAR!" Jetta blurted out as Ogden criticized her attempts at escaping; fortunately she chose a lesser register once the masked man managed to kick a hole through it, just barely big enough to fit her tiny frame through. "B-but wait, what about-"

"<Go! We both know these amateurs aren't going to succeed>" M-7 remotely reminded Jetta as they were in the midst of combat. Juggernaut, barely alive after that combined attack, began to charge up yet another Dragon Breath, this time aiming at no-one in particular, just one of the birds flying around. Meanwhile, Birdie's sensitive crest could just barely feel the Air Slash coming his way, and he jumped; it wasn't enough to avoid getting struck on the foot, flipping over and landing on his face, but better than nothing.

"<GAH... bloody hell, I'm ALWAYS gettin' hit with that bollocks!>" he complains. Noticing the Vulpix he had targeted earlier was still standing, he spins around and attempts to Low Kick them off the floor, combo-ing from the spin he had totally just done on purpose and not because he got hit.

Meanwhile, M-7 reeled from getting struck across the chest. "<UNNF... hell, compressed air...>" he grumbled, before shaking it off. "<Naughty Unovan bird you are, it's time out for you! Time out...>" he said ominously, as he focused his Hypnotic powers on the injured Braviary, mesmerizing lights once again going off on his chest.

By that point, Jetta had already made peace with the fact that her Pokemon were capable of handling themselves and split, clambering through the ice hole along with Ogden.

Hooded Guy: Aranos, dive!
An oddly colored Spinarak whose pattern matched the appearance of the hooded guy jumped out of the vents, posing bombastically as it looks ominously at the Vulpix. Also, it's wearing a pair of orange triangular shades.
Aranos: <Should've gotten down sooner, Arachna-Guy. I wasn't gonna wait for your cue forever.>
