Spinme: "So... You sure you wanna claim that sword Pent? You don't seem good enough to do it."

“Oops,” Colton realized, letting the shots fall by B’s wayside. “I was kinda treating this as an RTS, where one target’s down and it’s time to focus fire. Also, I was getting a little impatient,” he defended.

There was only one response to his own idiocy he knew how to do.

Colton facepalmed.

The dust that had settled in the Groudon over the centuries all came off of the walls and ceilings due to the tremors. Even through the tiny opening, the sound resonated across the entirety of Hyul.

For better or worse, all of Va-ru City would probably look to the source in paranoia or knowing smugness. The determinant factor in the city’s expressions were either their arrogance or their fear.

Shaun: "Yeah...I just wish it never happened in the first place."

-Pessimist!Shaun is pushing back on Optimist!Shaun's forehead while the latter swings his fists wildly -

Pessimist!Shaun: *yawns*

Trina: -Grins at the Infinity Ball grunt's fate-    Good.   

-and heads downstairs-

-Giselle, meanwhile, pulls out a blaster and fires it at the grunt Mason is attacking-

-More grunts filter in-

-One with Infinity Ring claws and a Lurantis engages Jared and his Milotic, and are met with a flurry of Ice Beams.-

-Four more with axe constructs and also with an Aegislash, a Granbull, a Sawsbuck, and a Corsola encircle Verax's group and attempt to gang up on them.-

-A Infinity Ball grunt with a Mega Manectric orders Thunderbolts at Brie's group-

-Jean is about to shoot the Infinity Ball grunt when...-

-A small green Rockruff pops out of her bag-

Rockruff: Ruff!

-And hops out of the bag to run off-

Jean: NO!

-She rushes after the Rockruff, frantically shooting at the Flare Grunts and their mons who try to kill either of them-

-The guards, after nervously looking between each other, Kaito, and Pent, nontheless start ordering the stolen mons to attack...-

-When Team Umbra barges in-

Umbra: Give our mons back!

Klunk: <Nico! It's you! It's been so long!>

Axel: Lina! About time you showed up!

Lina: I had some complications, but I'm here. And I'm going to kick these guy's fucking asses.

Sawtooth: <Robin! Good deducting, finding us here!>

Robin: Well, I had a little help.

-The mons then proceed to attack the guards with X-Naut help...-

-Only for one of the guards to send out a stolen Pokemon that is decidedly not Team Umbra's-

-Starts firing Flash Cannons everywhere-

Arika: Well this just went to shit.

Ammy: -flamethrower- <Now would be a good time to use Clippy, Robin!>

-Robin nods and sends out the Guzzlord-

Clippy: {Roast the Celesteelia? OK then!}

-Sends a stream of flame at the other UB-

Gudrunn: Whew! That was close.

-She peeks at her shadow-

Remember how the Fox Ammy stayed behind with the Bug Ammy?

Yeah, she’s back, too. She looked to her trainer, who was mouthing his prayers looking at UB-05.

Colton recollected himself and looked to his Fire-type. He sat at the wall and pulled out a couple of Lemonades. One for Ammy and one for him.

“<They got this,>” they chorused as they watched the fireworks.

Shaun: "Not really."

Luka: <At least that means some peoplemons avoided it.>

-Shaun cocks his head.-

Shaun: "You're not wrong."

Due to the force of Mason's stomp, the Grunts head ends up slamming hard into the metal floor of the base, emitting a pained snarl from the man.

He whips around and attempts to skewer Mason, but the energy around his body begins flickering due to the ring getting damaged.

The energy shot from the blaster seemed to be... Consumed by the energy surrounding the Grunt.

A group of grunts with Infinity Shields begins advancing towards Ezran and Verax, closing in on them. Their forced Mega Mons behind them.

Neo-Flare Grunt: KILL THEM, TAKE NO SURVIVORS!

A Mega Gallade and Gardevoir fire off a Psycho Cut and Psyshock respectively, while a Mega Ring boosted Grunt leaps out from behind the Shield Wall and two grunts with Infinity Blades attempt to flank the pair.

-Ramphyros, meanwhile, fires a Dragon Pulse up the stairs at the Manectric's trainer, while Halcyon refreshes the Light Screen-

Of course not, I never said I'd be carrying it. Get a non-obscuric to carry it and we'll take it back to the boat so I can toss the thing into a sun.

Alternatively we could totally run a risk and use that thing to take on Joker without defeating the rest of the Grands.

Groundblight while taken off guard takes the hit, and projects a smile, "You trainers have good pokemon. You may all just stand a chance yet. Good luck."

Groundblight breaks apart and fades, a control board being revealed in the Galant's head. It stops, and begins moving again, back towards Va-Ru City.

The Pen looks at the dashboard and puts a hand on it, -Well it won't be very far a walk. We're right overlooking the Sanctuary now.-

Pentigan's arm is healing a bit, the Pen proceeds to make a gurgle noise, -Oh man is that what healing moves feel like? I'm happy my user's gonna live but I'm not happy being a glitch thing.-

Jester looks out, another pillar going down, "Good. Keep going my pawns."

Upon hearing Pent say something about Ultra Beasts and then rummage through his bag, Colton sighed. He reached into his pocket and felt the Beast Ball.

He grabbed his phone and opened his chat history with Gladion. He exhaled and tapped Pent's shoulder, Beast Ball in the other hand. "You owe me," he warned.

<THAT'S more like it,> Water-type and Steel-type chorused before returning themselves. Colton approached the control deck, hoping it would all be rather straightforward.

Or maybe it would all be gobbledygook with a bunch of red buttons that did bad things.

-Mason barely stumbles out of the way of the skewering as he lands on the ground, and sees the ring malfunctioning.-

Mason: ...Shit. This won't be pretty.

-He covers himself in an Obscura barrier and braces for the worst.-

Every(?): 'Course I do. He came here with us.

-a closed door. It doesn't look like the rest of the modules; it looks like a door to a house. A house owned by some very strange people, certainly. It's painted in blue and black accents, but it has a doorknob and doorbell, and it looks, at least compared to the modules, inviting-

-PEFE!Every tries the door. It opens easily, into a small, homey-looking kitchen. There's a table, and sitting at that table-

Ever: Hey.

-she stops dead-

Every(?): Hey~

PEFE!Every: Oh, great. What do you represent?

Every(?): Impending doom.

-Ever swats her-

Ever: We don't represent anything. We used her Mismagius to incept you.

-indeed, a Mismagius is curled up on the counter like a cat-

Crucible the Mismagius: <Yo.>

-PEFE!Every takes a seat, gesturing at Crucible-

PEFE!Every: That's not possible.

Ever and Every(?): Magic.

-they stick their tongues out at each other-

PEFE!Every: Magic isn't real, and neither is this. I'm having a nightmare, and you're symbols of...something. I'm not a dream expert.

Ever: You know, even if magic weren't real, lots of Pokemon abilities can interact with dreams. Who's to say we can't Inception you?

PEFE!Every: Because the real Ever isn't coming for me.

Ever: What? Says who?

PEFE!Every: Says logic. You didn't help me with Revy, you didn't help me with Carna, you didn't help me when my parents held me captive. Anyone coming for me now is doing so at best out of enlightened self-interest.

-she snaps her fingers-

PEFE!Every: That's it. You're just another face taken by my abandonment issues.

-she points at Every(?)-

PEFE!Every: You're a little more abstract. But I've seen you, as Carna, or as the Scythermen...you two make a nice duality, really. You were right, you are impending doom.

Every(?): I mean...

Ever: Ssh.

-he turns to PEFE!Every-

Ever: (urgently) Look, we couldn't find you. We didn't know where Iron was set up, we didn't have any kind of information that might have helped us get you out. But I've been trying to get help finding you for weeks now.

PEFE!Every: Even assuming you are real, I have no reason to believe you.

Ever: Arceus, what did your parents do to you?

PEFE!Every: Reminded me what my point is.

-she stands up-

PEFE!Every: Nothing in my life has been fixed by other people. I raised myself. I repaired myself. Relying on other people has never been anything but a waste of my time. Listening to people make promises, tell me I'm important...it's just words. It's crap. I'm not going to pretend my mom and dad love me, or even really care about me, but at least they're honest about why they keep me around. They helped me make something that's actually important. I did that. If I, personally, am important to someone in any way, it's going to be because of what I just built.

Every(?): Yikes.

-Ever gives her a quelling glance. She makes a lip-zipping motion, and tosses the metaphorical key to Crucible, who makes no move to catch it-

Ever: PEFE!Every—

PEFE!Every: Shut up!

-Ever's eyes widen-

PEFE!Every: For the love of Arceus, Ever, you've never even called me by my name! Of all people I have the least reason to believe you ever gave a shit about me!

-Ever opens his mouth to respond, and just sighs-

PEFE!Every: Doesn't matter if you're figments or real. This is my dream, and I'm ending it.

-she leaves the house, slamming the door behind her. The world around her cracks, shatters-

-and she wakes up, in time to see a Mismagius fleeing the room-

...Note to self. Install an ectoplasm disruptor.

-she curls up back in bed-

Ever: That went...horribly.

Every(?): I blame you for this.

Ever: That's probably fair. Was the impending doom crack really necessary, though?

Every(?): On further consideration? Absolutely.

Neo Flare Base BF2

Gordes: "Boss, we're getting surrounded-"

Verax: "Then there's nowhere for them to run."

Gordes: "Understood! Gents! Ya'll ready for this?"

Jeremiah: "Obviously."

Weskel: "Y-Yeah. Hhehehehe~ Let's make a scene."

Gordes: "Alright buds! Go have some fun!"

-The Lucario uses Foresight on the Aegislash as it helps the squad zero in on it-

-His Golisopod rushes up towards the center of the encircling grunts, carrying an Electrode under its arm, blasting the assembly with a Shadow Rave, hurling the Electrode down as it glows brilliant bright white and then Explodes, knocking the Golisopod back and nearly out-

Jeremiah: "Done?"

-He draws two throwing knives out from a boot strap, rears back, and hurls them at a grunt once the smoke has cleared-

Weskel: "Ehehe~ Burn, burn~"

-His Charizard lands down where the Electrode detonated, knocking it's unconscious body back towards the Cipher boys, roaring, flapping its wings and blasting out a Heat Wave at the grunts and mons-

-The Alakazam, looking at the group, flings an Energy Ball at the Corsola for good measure-

Verax: "Alright, you ready?"

Ezran: -Looking at the group- "I don't think this should take us long."

Verax: "Right, let's clear the path!"

-Ezran's Serperior rushes forward to slam the Gallade with Aerial Ace, as Balthazar descends and follows up with a brutal Assurance-

Verax: "Be careful of the two, the Ralts line isn't something you want to mess with."

Ezran: "They're not that tough."

Verax: "Maybe not the ones you deal with. You should have seen- Oop time to work."

-Chyrsa uses Growth, her rose hands growing a bit fuller and the rest of her form bolstering, before hurling a sludge bomb at the Gardevoir-

-Muton rushes up and slams his Poison Jab into it-

Ezran: "They said take no survivors. Should we return the favor?"

Verax: "Eh, no one's gonna miss them if we accidentally do. Let's try not to though.

Ezran: "No promises."

-Ezran leaps up into the air and lands on a grunt trying to flank them, pushing off them and behind the shield wall-

Verax: -He grins as the grunt Ezra leapt off stumbles toward him. Moving forward, he ducks down and tackles at their knees, grabbing them by the shin and spinning to hurl them at whatever unfortunate soul thought they could get him the instant he turned his back-

Ever: Um, some kind of weird augmented horror with a [NORSE] code name?

Ever: You don't have that in your universe?

Every(?): I've never heard of it.

Ever: They're sort of like Silph or Devon, but they're mostly just a front for all kinds of horrifying experimentation on Pokemon. Though, really, I don't know how much I trust Silph or Devon.

Every(?): ...Your universe kind of sucks. The worst we had in ours was some guy named Grings Kodai. And really all I have on that is Tangent's word.

Ever: ...How is it we know the exact same people?

Every(?): I guess some friendships are just constants.

Ever: ...Huh. So what about me and Mezzo?

Every(?): Oh, in my world she's dating some redhead. One of us may have tried to kill the other at some point. Can't recall.
