Spider-Man General Discussion

Go To

This thread's for the Spider-Man comics and spin-offs, whether they're decades old or brand new.

  • Apart from the main Marvel Universe titles, Ultimate Spider-Man, Spider-Man "What If?" stories, crossovers, guest appearances in other books, Alternate Universe tales and things like Marvel's manga adaptations are all on-topic here.
  • Spider-Man 'family' books are on-topic (as are their own crossovers, guest appearances etc.) - e.g. Spider-Man 2099, Miles Morales, Spider-Woman, Silk, Spider-Gwen, Venom, Carnage, Black Cat, Red Goblin and Spider-Verse.
  • Characters and comics that originated in Spider-Man but are no longer directly connected to the spider-franchise (e.g. Punisher, Silver Sable) are not on-topic, unless you're discussing historical connections and crossovers. If in doubt, check before you write a long post. If this isn't the right place, there's a more general Marvel Comics thread which covers them.

Technically, Marvel's Infinity Comics (and their predecessors, Infinite Comics) are webcomics, not comic books, but it's fine to talk about their Spider-Man stories here.

Discussions that are only about Spider-Man adaptations in other media (films, video games etc.) are off-topic, but discussing the differences between the adaptations and the original comics is fine - as long as spoilers for the adaptations are tagged.

Please follow the spoiler policy rules - tag spoilers for the latest issues, for any previews or content leaks, and for off-topic comics. When including spoiler tags, try to write so that tropers can make an informed decision before viewing them (e.g. which series and issue will they spoil?).

     Original Thread OP
Since everyone likes talking about him. I know little about him(Ironically,I got nearly all I know about him from a Batman thread),but he's apparently important so I made this thread. Enjoy.

Norman would put a bullet in her spine, strip her, only he'd actually do her and then send the photos to Peter.

Do we have trope pages for these events?

We have a page for the new Heroes Reborn, if that’s what you mean.

Question for the thread: what was the last appearance of Aracely/Hummingbird from Kaine's Scqrlet Spider? I know she showed up in Yost's New Warriors series, but anything beyond that?

Amazing Spider-Man#61

Peter's new suit comes from Threats and Menaces, developed by Jameson and presented to Peter by Nora as a 'gift' for the hero that she thinks Peter will 'present' the costume to. The costumes' technology enables people to see things from Spidey's P.O.V as he fights crime, immersing them in the experience. Jameson assures Peter Spidey's secrets will be safe as the costumes' playback feed operates on a time delay

I liked the issue overall, there's a big mystery with who's truly behind the suit (though easy to guess with the Chameleon arc coming up), Peter's new job doesn't surprise me as Spencer likes to play the cards he's already been stacking and nothing but where he ends up at had been established as a job prospect. The issue also did a good job of developing more much-neglected characters in Jonah's orbit, not just Peters'. That feature of the costume is going to lead to tears before Storytime

Wow Peter would have to be a moron to use a suit that tapes whatever he does even with that provision

So of course he’s going to

Wow

That seems rather similar to the body cameras that police officers have to wear, which makes me uncomfortable with the framing that he should have a right and ability to turn it off whenever he wants. Which presumably he actually won't, because JJJ.

I think it's more like Twitch streaming since Spider-Man is already an illegal vigilante.

@Bocaj and Joshbones - Ah. Yeah. I remember her. That is a good comparison.

Probably the Thunderbolts.

I literally was confused why Screwball existed since they're basically the same character.

Screwball was one of the handful of new villains introduced during Brand New Day.

A lot of them didn't stick around. Overdrive and Mr. Negative were the big recurrers.
