This thread's for the Spider-Man comics and spin-offs, whether they're decades old or brand new.
- Apart from the main Marvel Universe titles, Ultimate Spider-Man, Spider-Man "What If?" stories, crossovers, guest appearances in other books, Alternate Universe tales and things like Marvel's manga adaptations are all on-topic here.
- Spider-Man 'family' books are on-topic (as are their own crossovers, guest appearances etc.) - e.g. Spider-Man 2099, Miles Morales, Spider-Woman, Silk, Spider-Gwen, Venom, Carnage, Black Cat, Red Goblin and Spider-Verse.
- Characters and comics that originated in Spider-Man but are no longer directly connected to the spider-franchise (e.g. Punisher, Silver Sable) are not on-topic, unless you're discussing historical connections and crossovers. If in doubt, check before you write a long post. If this isn't the right place, there's a more general Marvel Comics thread which covers them.
Technically, Marvel's Infinity Comics (and their predecessors, Infinite Comics) are webcomics, not comic books, but it's fine to talk about their Spider-Man stories here.
Discussions that are only about Spider-Man adaptations in other media (films, video games etc.) are off-topic, but discussing the differences between the adaptations and the original comics is fine - as long as spoilers for the adaptations are tagged.
Please follow the spoiler policy rules - tag spoilers for the latest issues, for any previews or content leaks, and for off-topic comics. When including spoiler tags, try to write so that tropers can make an informed decision before viewing them (e.g. which series and issue will they spoil?).

They're the main heroes of an alternate timeline story. Essentially it's "What if the Marvel Universe had the Justice League as its premiere superteam?"
It’s a pretty safe bet that Mephisto is behind it all
Forever liveblogging the AvengersAnd Blade (and possibly Deadpool?) will be instrumental in restoring the world back to how it was.
EDIT: I peg Deadpool as a "possibly" because the solicit for Young Squadron (which features him) said something about him knowing a dark secret.

I know who Squadron Supreme are, but what are they doing that will affect reality?
I'll teach you a lesson about just how cruel the world can be. That's my job, as an adult. So far, I think nothing has been said about it. When in doubt, blame a Cosmic Cube or something, though.
Wake me up at your own risk.During Jason Aaron's Avengers run, the revived Phil Coulson had been pushing the Squadron Supreme as the premier superhero team to rub out the Avengers. Recently we learn that Coulson's in cahoots with Mephisto.
Through the magic of spitballing, we can assume that Coulson and Mephisto (and possibly the Phoenix?) will somehow rewrite reality itself so that the Avengers never assembled and the Squadron Supreme have been the only superhero team in the Marvel Universe.
And given Mephisto is in on this, he's probably humoring Coulson, who was most definitely emotionally vulnerable over Captain America getting substituted by a Hydra-fied version and was shot down by Deadpool on said Hydra-Cap's orders shortly before Secret Empire kickstarted and he (Mephisto) will, at some point, toss Coulson under the bus, because of course a demon would do that.

Teal deer we don’t know yet but definitely Mephisto
Forever liveblogging the AvengersDeadpool will be a Deathstroke counterpart. If the Young Squadron are the Teen Titans, it makes sense the Deathstroke homage will be the villain.
Not a first, considering Ultimate Deadpool is basically Deathstroke, even going after a team of teen heroes (X-Men).

What the fuck happened to Phil Coulson?
I'll teach you a lesson about just how cruel the world can be. That's my job, as an adult.Coulson figured out that the Cap who got rejuvenated during Avengers: Standoff and was active during Civil War II was a HYDRA mole. Hydra Cap deduced that Coulson was not to be trusted and ordered Deadpool (who at the time highly respected him) to kill Coulson. Coulson tried to explain to Deadpool, but the latter wasn't buying it. That led directly to Secret Empire.
This caused Coulson to be disillusioned by the Avengers and evidently left him so emotionally vulnerable that he buddied up with Mephisto, who revived him, and backed him during his campaign to make the Squadron Supreme the premier hero team of the Marvel Universe.
(And thinking about it, it's highly possible that Coulson didn't know about the Cap switcheroo and assuming they eventually touch on that, could be what undos the new Avengers-less universe.)

There's no need to add so many spoiler tags when you are WMG future plots. Save those for actual spoilers.
Ultimate Secret WarsI still can't believe that many heroes give that much of a fuck about Coulson that Deadpool's rep took an immediate 180 for being tricked into killing him.
"I am Alpharius. This is a lie."I assume that everyone tends to be willing to believe the worst about Deadpool because he was introduced trying to murder teenagers for money
Forever liveblogging the AvengersDeadpool having a rep as a superhero is an impossibility the same way as Spider-Man having a good day.
Author of The Rules of Supervillainy, Cthulhu Armageddon, and United States of Monsters.Double standards and all that.
The Avengers and X-Men have no problem allowing villains of various morality to join but they draw the line at Deadpool just because hes personally annoying.
I mean Emma Frost is a rapist but you never hear anyone bring that up.

"I am Alpharius. This is a lie."Not to mention the post Dawn of X status quo had Apocalypse as a "good guy". Among others such as Gorgon.
Mr. Sinister however is still too shady to count.
Also I think it's worth noting based on the solicitations, this is the original Gwen Stacy, not Spider-Gwen. Since Peter never became Spider-Man in this universe, Norman never developed an obsession with him that led to Gwen getting killed.
Though I like that her costume is actually a mixture of Nightwing and Stephanie Brown's Batgirl suit.
Hopefully she also never slept with him
Which might make this a better timeline overall!
Forever liveblogging the AvengersWonder what kind of events led the regular Gwen to become a superhero.
So far, this is just pushing the Barbara Gordon parallels as far as they can go.
Edited by Blueace on Mar 6th 2021 at 12:04:42 PM
Wake me up at your own risk.So does Norman put a bullet in her spine? No Babs parallel is complete without referencing that story. Except Batman Beyond.
Man these what-ifs make me sad for Gwen and Peter.
"I am Alpharius. This is a lie."Do we know if Norman Osbourne is in Heroes Reborn, or is this just WMG?
Ultimate Secret WarsWell, we know the Green Goblin himself is there. So it's a toss-up between Norman or Harry.
Do we have trope pages for these events?

I'm sorry what is Squadron Supreme doing?
