This thread's for the Spider-Man comics and spin-offs, whether they're decades old or brand new.
- Apart from the main Marvel Universe titles, Ultimate Spider-Man, Spider-Man "What If?" stories, crossovers, guest appearances in other books, Alternate Universe tales and things like Marvel's manga adaptations are all on-topic here.
- Spider-Man 'family' books are on-topic (as are their own crossovers, guest appearances etc.) - e.g. Spider-Man 2099, Miles Morales, Spider-Woman, Silk, Spider-Gwen, Venom, Carnage, Black Cat, Red Goblin and Spider-Verse.
- Characters and comics that originated in Spider-Man but are no longer directly connected to the spider-franchise (e.g. Punisher, Silver Sable) are not on-topic, unless you're discussing historical connections and crossovers. If in doubt, check before you write a long post. If this isn't the right place, there's a more general Marvel Comics thread which covers them.
Technically, Marvel's Infinity Comics (and their predecessors, Infinite Comics) are webcomics, not comic books, but it's fine to talk about their Spider-Man stories here.
Discussions that are only about Spider-Man adaptations in other media (films, video games etc.) are off-topic, but discussing the differences between the adaptations and the original comics is fine - as long as spoilers for the adaptations are tagged.
Please follow the spoiler policy rules - tag spoilers for the latest issues, for any previews or content leaks, and for off-topic comics. When including spoiler tags, try to write so that tropers can make an informed decision before viewing them (e.g. which series and issue will they spoil?).

Preview of Superior Spider-Man#12...aka Otto makes a house call!
For drama of course.
Why else do people die in these events?
"I am Alpharius. This is a lie."They probably didn't expect him to take off at the time.
Speaking of He has his trenchcoat like in the film now.
"They truly were a Aqua Teen Hunger Force"still, it’s still a questionable decision to kill him off around the same time that the the movie came out.

I'm pretty sure that was the point.
Total unexpected shock value because why else would they kill something whose about to star in a high profile movie?
"I am Alpharius. This is a lie."Yeah, they probably killed him because he is a fairly well known alternate Peter who they knew will be back.
Wake me up at your own risk. But it’s just kinda annoying instead of shocking, since we all know he will be back.
I accept that no one stays dead in comics except Uncle Ben and Batman’s parents, but can we at least pretend death means something?

Hey I'm just saying as it is.
I agree with everything your saying...... its just Marvel doesn't.
"I am Alpharius. This is a lie."You know event comics. No one can keep their killing urges under control.
Wake me up at your own risk. This is why I love the current X-Men comics. It's like Hickman said, "Nobody stays dead? Alright, fine, let's just make that official."

Except we didn't. At the time some even assumed they'd just introduce a different Spider-Man Noir more in line with the film version.
Same can be said about the current Hulk run. They even mentioned how there were few people at Ross funeral because of how often he has died and come back.

"They truly were a Aqua Teen Hunger Force"Of goddamn course he has the trench coat now.
My various fanfics. So anyway, anyone have any thoughts on ASM 32, and the upcoming 2099 crossover mini event?

It's kinda weird though, the last Spider-Man 2099 book ended with the year becoming 2100.
"They truly were a Aqua Teen Hunger Force"Hence the "future is dying" tagline, I imagine.
x15 Still no Anya :/

Spider-Man: Full Circle was brilliant. My favorite bit was when Werewolf MJ answered the door. Or the bit where Nick Fury kills an obvious Mickey Mouse stand-in right in front of a little girl.
Yeah, Full Circle was a blast. That was the hardest I've laughed at a comic book in a while. So much great art. Lots of the black costume, and I'm a sucker for the black costume. I want every one of those artists to work on a regular Spider-Man book and for Humberto Ramos to find something else to do for Pete's sake. Greg Smallwood, Valerio Schitti, and Mike and Laura Allred were standouts in particular.
The very best, like no one ever was. Check out my Spider-Man fanfic here! [1]I would love Greg Smallwood on a Spider-Man book. His Moon Knight run was amazing and Vampironica was awesome.
Gotta admit, with today's Superior Spider-Man finale, I was expecting a twist fake out where it'd be revealed Ock didn't make the deal with Mephisto and used an Life Model Decoy of his old self to outwit Spider-Osborn...I mean, think about it, if he DID say no to Mephisto, something Peter, Miles, and Ben haven't done, he could truly have decreed himself the Superior Spider-Man, but no, they went there Ock is back to his regular pudgy and devious self
that's legitimately infuriating and incredibly Cynical.

Ok at this point I feel like Mephisto is less the Devil and more a manifestation of the status quo.
Was it the final, final issue? Any hope of a twist?
If not, that sucks. I mean although I hoped that Elliot Tolliver!Octavius would be a good guy permanently, I did expect someone along the line would have him do a Face–Heel Turn, but if that's the ending to that series, it seems pretty bad and not really in line with what seemed to be the message of the comic.
Yeah, at least Kieron Gillen's Journey into Mystery was all about how the status quo refused to be changed (and even then, it turned out that it did change). I'm genuinely disappointed in the writer for just reverting everything back to the way it was.
turns out the real superior spider-man is kaine. sure he might have been an assassin but he never made a deal with the devil
IDW relaunching their Spider-Man title
