The news and video sections of the Animal Crossing official website have gone into placeholder mode. Could this mean something?

"We're all paper, we're all scissors, we're all fightin' with our mirrors, scared we'll never find somebody to love."I'm not sure. I haven't seen other AC fans note it, though.
This Twitter thread by Leak Review gives a general overview what's going on with the site.
The three major thing's I didn't go over with my last post:
- The news and video portions of the website have no data in the Wayback Machine before April 3rd.
- The 3DS page is completely broken, and the Wii U page is just gone.
- The news page also has a German short story called "The Metamorphosis," which is about a sales-man turning into a giant bug.
It looks suspicious, but I figured they'd keep AC Switch on wraps until E3.
If all goes swell, Animal Crossing Switch will be announced soon. I'm curious what the new gimmicks will be.
...Metamorphosis is a pretty weird choice for dummy text. :P

Weirder placeholder stuff has occurred.
Double post: as of June 30th, 2018, New Leaf has become the best selling game in the series at 11.87 million units sold, overtaking Wild World's previous 11.75 million.

"We're all paper, we're all scissors, we're all fightin' with our mirrors, scared we'll never find somebody to love."Man, it's been 5 years since I played New Leaf. It'll be fun to get back into this series
A great Mascot Mook.2019 can't come soon enough. Hopefully it comes earlier in the year.
I'm guessing it'll be either in June or December.
Pokemon Gen 8 is going to come out on November 22nd.

Off the back of my head: Skin tones and vegetable farming.
Skin tones seem likely, since Happy Home Designer did that. Did Pocket Camp? I’m not sure.
I'd love it if decorating was handled the way it is in HHD. I don't know why it wasn't handled that way prior.
Pocket Camp has skin tones too, yeah.
How did Happy Home Designer handle it? Pocket Camp just let you customize your character however without any fancy framing device.
🏳️⚧️she/her | Vio Rhyse AlberiaI've heard that's what HHD did too.
I hope we get more convenient customization options in general. I can understand having to buy clothes, but I don't want the process of getting desired haircuts to be unnecessarily obtuse.
If a tree falls in the forest and nobody remembers it, who else will you have ice cream with?Happy Home Designer and Pocket Camp let you drag and drop furniture where you wanted from a separate menu, and tap to rotate them. WAY easier to use than what they did before. I think New Leaf was updated to use a drag-and-drop interface too.
New Leaf had it as an option in the Amiibo update.
Huh. I didn't know that though I restarted my game after the update and never played much from that point. I guess if they added it to the update there may be a chance it'll be part of the base game for AC 2019?
I don't want the games to use the HHD style of customization. I like the way AC does character customization, even if it's more convenient to just allow straight-up customization.

It was Easter and April Fool's on Sunday. That won't happen again until the 2020s.
I completely forgot about Blanca after the first house. The eggs were more interesting.
