Was the "anime" produced in Japan? Does the anime have an ANN page?

It was produced in Japan, and it does have an ANN page.

Round 363: It's another video hint!

Hint:
Note: This is an illegal song. There are no restrictions.

The anime:

  • Is not a sports anime.
  • Does not have a male main character.
  • Is an adaptation.
    • Already asked, but is an adaptation.
  • Is not live-action.
  • Has a My Anime List page.
  • Is not Slice of Life.
  • Did not have more than 1 season and asking this question is making a huge assumption.
  • Exists.
  • Is not a TV series.
  • Is a movie.
  • Is a feature film (at least 40 minutes long).
  • Is not Fantasy.
  • Doesn't really have supernatural elements as far as I can tell (despite what one would suspect at first glance).
  • Is not Red Line.
  • Is not Millennium Actress.
  • Is not Spirited Away.
  • Is not related to a TV series.
  • Is not related to a videogame.
    • Asked, but the anime's not an adaptation of a game.
  • Doesn't have a TV Tropes page.
  • Was produced in Japan.
  • Has an ANN page.

The anime (air dates):

  • did not air before 2000.
  • aired after 1995.
  • did not air before 1990.
  • Started airing in an even-numbered year.
  • did not air before 2005.
  • aired in a year that's a multiple of 3.
  • did not air in 2006. (Not counted as it was asked based on incorrect assumptions.)
  • did not air in the winter or spring seasons.
  • did not air in the summer season.
  • Didn't premier in 2007.
  • Premiered in 2010.

The song:

  • Is an insert song (and Anime News Network's entry is probably wrong).
  • Has nothing to do with Dorkus's sig.
    • We've been through this before.
  • Is not listed as an ED on the anime's ANN page.
  • Is not Can't Stop Loving You.
  • Is not Amazing Grace.
  • Is not Golden Wing.
  • Is not from a game.
  • Is not Tsubasa Wo Kudasai.
  • Is not Valor.

That's what I get for misreading hints...

Has the movie been released on Blu-Ray or DVD yet?

Is it part of a series of movies?

Is it listed as an OP on ANN?

  • I think it's been released on DVD. Not sure about Blu-Ray.
  • It's not part of a series.
  • The song's listed as an OP on ANN.

Yes, flygon, it's KOSHI-TANTAN from Loups=Garous. And, as expected, it's another Bilingual Bonus round.

Explanation: The idiom "Koshi-Tantan", or "虎視眈々", means to watch / aim for something intently - its literal meaning is "to stalk with a tiger's gaze".

"And the last known survivor stalks his prey in the night/
And he's watching us all with the eeeeyyyyeee... Of the tiger!"

I find this song annoyingly catchy. Then again, I suspect that the use of teenage Japanese girls rocking out and making the occasional squeal and inappropriate come-on was meant to have that sort of effect. *shrug* It's got a nice beat though.

OK. I have thought of a round:

Round 364:Flygon used Double Team!

Variant rules: This is a double round, so there's two songs to guess. You have to specify which song|anime you are directing your questions towards. And you only have the same number of questions as normal.

Hint: Boobs and tits.

Do you allow hints to refer to either / both songs? Not an attempt, BTW.

Do you allow hints to refer to either / both songs? The only hint which will refer to both songs in this round is the hint I have already given.

...What I meant was, you're saying we can't ask questions pertaining to either / both songs, such as "is either anime an adaptation", even if the Mathematician's Answer would be appropriate, right?

Oh, great, variant rules on top of variant rules.

Is one of them "Unmei"? "Futatsu no Ashiato", the ED to Manyu Hikencho?

Is anime 1 a TV series?

I think by definition "variant" nullifies "standard", but I won't ask air dates becuase flygon won't answer them anyway.

I will use Mathematician's Answer as Pyrite suggested. It doesn't make too much of a difference at the end of the day, apart from losing a couple of hints.

Is one of them "Unmei"? "Futatsu no Ashiato", the ED to Manyu Hikencho? No, no and no.

Is anime 1 on the Gag Boobs page? Is anime 2 on the Gag Boobs page? No and no.

You only answered two questions flygon.

I hate situations like this. I'm not sure whether I can ask three questions here or I can only ask two because I still need to wait for a previous question. : /

All four questions are answered with a "yes", so both anime are TV series, and they are both adaptations.

Hi guys...

Flygon my sig takes effect here k?

anime 2:

Is the studio who produced the anime in the Names To Know In Anime list? Is the artist who sang/composed the song for anime 2 in the Names To Know In Anime list? The third question is based on the effect of my sig.

Question: Refer to round 6. Should this clarification be counted as a separate question in itself? If we're penalising for subjective questions asked by the players, I'd think it should, but I'd like to get your opinions. (I know it doesn't matter in the long run considering that the only rounds that matter would be the "Longest Round" ones, but I'd like to try to be consistent at least.)

OH MY GAH. Round 8. Sooooo many subjective questions, some questioners didn't phrase their questions in a Yes/No answer format, and additional hints along the way... (Of course, everybody guess a pass since the game was still in its infancy back then.) Could I get your collective opinions on that round and see what count tally you come up with?

That reminds me: should we count bonus hints? I've been guilty of handing out a few and I have no idea whether to count them. I'm going with "no" for now. Relevant rounds should be 8 & 14 so far, I think.

Is anime 2 an adaptation of a:

  • manga?
  • light novel?
  • video game / visual novel / dating sim?

Current fact-check status: Round 19. No guarantees, but hopefully the tallies are a little closer to the mark.

Question: Refer to round 6. Should this clarification be counted as a separate question in itself? I don't think so. Grain didn't answer the question with an answer that they could've worked with until post 170.

As for Round 8, I got 38-41 facts. (don't ask me how I got that; I sort of forgot the reason while I was counting) I didn't include all of those tidbits that Ed threw around though. EDIT: I included the tidbits that Ed dropped here and there and now it's up to 50 facts.

Is the manga that anime 1 was adapted from still ongoing? If not, does it have less than 10 volumes?

Does anime 2 take place in the present day?

Re: Round 8 - I think it's probably not worth recounting the hints, given the number of subjective questions involved. (Seeing as how the game was still new at the time, it's expected to some extent.)

Is anime 2:

  • Fantasy?
  • Science Fiction?
  • Historical Fiction?
