"You youldn't believe me if I said 'it looked a lot worse when I bought it', would you. Amazing how a crew can come together... To lambast the ship."

"We need something to bring us together. I mean besides the killing and bloodlust. Or is that just me?"

"I shudder to think how we'll react to each other whenever we get this thing repaired, or at least sanitary." Una said, waving the biotic glow away, no need to wave around a loaded gun, as it were.

"I don't think sanitation will be a problem, nothing like hard vacume to kill bacteria."

"Wait here. I did prepare a surprise for when you got on board."

Dano heads off to fetch the surprise.

Dano returns with datapads.

"Now, I didn't completely screw up with the ship. My original plan was to buy a military ship, and a civilian ship and fuse then together, for creature comforts with firepower. I worked hard keeping the other half of the ship a surprise for you, but the crew quarters are brilliant. I just kind of blew the budget on that half." i even shielded it from scans."

"Those datapads have full plans on them, and the crew quarters are detachable, so give me some time with a donor, and we can have the best of both."

"and we have an important issue to discuss. We need to elect a Captain. The Captian is responsible for the ship and all the lives on it. It is not a position to be given or taken lightly." I speak from my time on the Flotilla. A bad decision from an Admiral recently caused a lab ship, the Aleri, to be overrun by Geth and the Admiral was killed."

"Wait, I thought you were going to do that?" Una said. "After all you bought this... thing" She waved towards the ship in general. She had always pegged Quarians as a little too fond of taking orders, but it seemed odd to buy a ship, to the degree this could be called a ship, to give orders to someone else.

"I doubt my leadership abilities very seriously, and quarians do not take to leadership well. Ta'e one look at the Flotilla, we should have either gone to war with the geth or found a colony world by now, and maybe I wouldn't have to live in this damn suit. All we get are andmirals bickering like children. I bought the ship and I don't want to get it blown up."

Larry glanced at the plans for the quarters.

"While I can not condone this mis-allocation of resources I would be a hypocrite if I said it didn't make me very happy to learn that I will not have to share my suite with anyone."

He cleared his throat and put as much of his imagined suaveness into his voice as he could manage.

"As for Captain, I was an officer."

"Well like I said, if we get a donor craft, I can fuse it with the crew creaft."

Nathaniel walks up. "I'll be captain. I was both trained in biotics and a member of C-Sec after all. I'm sure I have the most experience."

"An all human candidacy?" Una said. "No offense to anyone, but I think I'll throw my name in the hat, in the interest of variety... and about a hundred years of seniority." She didn't really think of herself as a leader, but the probability of anyone voting for her was fairly low anyway, so it was more like an extended snark, she figured.

Larry fished a cigarrete out of his pocket and lit up.

"C-Sec's all well and good, but being a cop isn't the same as being a captain. Una's at least seen some loose military discipline."

He paused, taking a long drag before hitting the com again.

"I've been on the bridge when things've gotten heated, I've seen real captains in action. Still, regardless of my admittedly excellent leadership qualities, it's usuallly best that the pilot isn't in charge of the ship. Unless somebody else can handle this old girl?"

He frowned as yet another attempted smoke-ring failed.

"Someone with experience," Tarsus said. "Someone who's been in a position of authority on a ship before. Of course, I was just a ground-pounder, so that counts me out."

"Ya know Dano, rule by commitee is bad for any situation that requires speed. Maybe you're selling yourself short."

"I suppose I could, I led a few squads back in the Suns. None of tem were all-too happy about being ordered about by a quarian."

Skylar walked into the room.

"Ah. Nothing like a nice relaxing nap in a sleeper pod. It does wonders for the back, you know. Totally doesn't make it so that your spine needs to be realigned." Skylar cracked a small smile and looked around the room. "So, what are you sausages, sorry, sausages plus an asari, discussing up here?"

"How about you Sky? Think you're captain materal? You've served with a real outfit."

The ship's Captain. An important decision, one that affects everybody on board this ship. A bad call can get everyone killed.

"Ah... inter-ship politics. Fun" Skylar thought about this for a moment. "I may have served in an outfit, but that hardly makes me captain material. I barely got up one rank."

"Ah, well thats...hey do we have a trashcan on the Bridge?"

Larry looked down at the butt in his hand.

"Or should I just make the obvious joke?"

Shaking his head at his own interruption, he started pacing the room, tapping at his omni-tool to see if he could bring up anything relevant on the extranet.

"Anybody ever been class president?"

"Well, you got the pick of you, Nate, Una and myself."

Dano starts beeping.

"Engineering pager. I'll be back up in a minute."

"One loose eezo tube. Didn't take long to fix. That was where some of the money went, it was empty when I bought it."

"Ah. Loose tubes. This ship just keeps getting better and better, doesn't it?" Skylar said with a laugh.

"We're leaking eezo too? No offense to you guys, but I'm not wild about being a biotic."
