Not gonna lie, I am not a fan of the "revamp" for the Red War, Osiris, Warmind and Forsaken story missions and how to access them.

TBH, they should have only done players who have paid today, and did the F 2 P release a few days later, or earlier, to aleviate the load.

[up][up] All story content aside from the new Shadowkeep content have been removed from the Director, and the game just automatically assumes you completed everything before the Steam migration, even if you didn't. The only way to get the past story content is to talk to Holloway and pick which mission you want to do.

You have to do this for every single mission.

It's less "assumes you already did everything" and more "assumes you never gave much of a damn in the first place". D 2 Y 1 didn't exactly have the best storytelling, and New Light's banking on people being interested in jumping right into activities like Forges or Menagerie rather than wasting hours in half-assed campaigns just to unlock everything.

but HOW?

My brother had an issue where his game simply didn't transfer from Battle.net to Steam. Given the complexity of these issues and the massive changes to the player base and content, I'm not surprised.

I'm about an hour and a half into the Shadowkeep campaign, I actually kept little tabs on the content being offered just so I can experience it fresh. It's jumping in a little too fast on the story (almost all the campaigns have this problem, the game seems allergic to cutscenes) but I am liking what is being offered so far. It is a revamp of the original Moon map, but the addition of npc assistant soldiers really gave that landing point a war feel.

I had heard rumors of what to expect for Destiny 3, but this feels almost like a new start. One hell of a Wham Shot when you come across the pyramid ship under the Hellmouth, and then seeing old boss enemies seemingly revived by it. Again, just at the tip of the campaign but this is taking all the lore of the games so far to the next step.

Destiny 3 isn't even under consideration at this time any more, with bungie committing to focus on destiny 2 until they cant any more now that they are out of the activation contract (hence the name change, and rebuilding the destiny 1 intro in engine for new players)

With 2 more years already planed out.

Looks like Bungie enabled more server space, because it's become far easier to log on now and the complaints of server queues are disappearing. This has gotta be the most crowded I've ever seen the Tower hub.

I saw on Reddit that even the Farm is teeming with people.

Of course I'll have to wait for all that until the weekend.

A word of warning to those using finishers on enemies: You are not immune to damage and can die doing this.

I died to a random cursed thrall mid-finish and went flying.

.-. Huh. I must have missed that...

Edit: Good news to players who cleared Crown during the first week: raid jacket production is nearly done and is awaiting release schedule. So far, it will be in two batches with the first in November and the second in December. More information will be given in the coming weeks.

Check your orders to see for yourself and if you have questions, contact them with your order number.

So I think I'm about halfway through the Shadowkeep campaign. I'm enjoying it for the most part although I forget how frustrating the level grind can be when it comes to story progression. But the limitations of the series is on full display when you enter the pyramid and see a mirror of yourself. The player character is such a cipher that this reveal has almost no emotional impact, the character says so little and we rarely see their face that the reveal feels more like a gag in how little the player talks rather than a true Mind Screw moment.

I've missed so many of the events leading up this (The seasons, the various in game options, the armoury etc) - once I'm done with Control, BL 3 and Greedfall I was thinking about jumping back in briefly.

I do love the lore and the chance to re-explore the moon feels... good. The BL 3 mission on the asteroid plays up the Luna vibe MASSIVELY (With a Dinklebot and everything) plus control has got me missing the weird esoteric lore stuff.

Is the content worth it to jump back in and blitz? Considering I (as per) am not likely to experience the raid?

I would say so. I haven't played much of it yet but I'm quite interested in what I've seen so far. The Moon's also changed to a huge degree, and the intro to the DLC is amazing with how it's done. It's like, the first large-scale action in the game since the vanilla opening.

Probably not much because most of the game is free now.

There's only two expansions you can buy and they're Forsaken and Shadowkeep.

Oh really when?

Anybody know how to remove deprecated mods from your armor and guns? Because right now that's making several older exotic and legendary items in my inventory impossible to upgrade, since the deprecated mod is wasting up those slots.

I’m bumping this.

Anyone try out Leviathan’s Breath yet? I know that this game has its fair amounts of BFGs, but BFBs? That’s probably less common these days. Still wish it had lore, given it strangely mentions Emperor Calus.

(I almost mistakenly posted Emperor Shaxx instead)

Since I only play the game on weekends I just got the quest and started on it today. All the Gambit-ing I need to do, both for this and Ace of Spades, is likely what I'll do next week.

I haven't gotten the bow yet, but I saw a video where players used its staggering effect to push Calus off the throne in the boss fight of Leviathan, close enough to another plate so they could use the Legend of Acrius shotgun to finish him off. If you don't play the raids, you can only deal damage from a distance on specific plates, and the Legend of Acrius is a monster of a Short-Range Shotgun gifted to you by Calus himself that is otherwise useless for that part.

In general, the whole shield pierce, stagger and disruption mods is the biggest change to the gameplay. Armor 2.0 is cool, but it's mostly just customization of something that was otherwise random perks.

I'd say there's a ton of mileage you can get out of the new(-ish) stats and finisher mods. Forty-second grenades and shoulder charges, heals and ammo regen from executions... Good stuff.

but HOW?
