For the latter, I'm talking about the series, Gankutsuou. If these two have similarities, they are Anti-Hero, Byronic Hero, and Magnificent Bastard.

Wow, Lelouch has fought almost everyone now, hasn't he....

Aw man, it's a serious thread? Really? I thought someone was making fun of all these threads that keep popping up. Look, just make a Lelouch vs. Everyone Ever thread and be done with it.

... Lelouch wins. By a looong shot. They're not in the same league. The Count just has a petty vengeance against a domestic few. The Lelouch man has managed to TAKE OVER THE WORLD! OF COURSE!

And I'm still not sure what Byronic Hero means.

Byronic Hero = A "hero" that is hugely flawed, and generally also against societies norms and morally dubious.

As for the versus thing: Well, Lelouch ultimately achieved more, but he also fucked up a lot more. The Count only wanted "petty revenge", but he achieved it flawlessly, without a single mistake. It comes down to Lelouch having divided priorities (Revenge vs Better world for Nunnally), and the Count only having one.

I'd have to say the Count, if it was solely a one on one Xanatos Speed Chess match. Count definitely has the upper hand, what with the politic allies, funds, resources and magical space demon.

Are we counting the anime incarnation of the count? because if so, he would win pretty easily.

Agreed, but it's a way to pass the time inbetween waking up and playing Prototype.

Count of Montecristo: Become famous first, get revange later.

Lelouch: A Lready famous, become anonimous, get revenge, become famous, get revenge, have yourself killed, get moral revenge.

The defense for Lelouch falls apart when you factor in he's a complete idiot who gets thousands of people killed to derail his own goals and justifies himself with a solution that would never work in any sociologically realistic world.

aw, crap. I feel the rage boiling. I'm gonna go read Nightmare of Nunnally again so I can remember the time Code Geass was actually handled well.

It's funny how I can actually agree with your first sentence, yet find the idea of Nightmare of Nunnally being considered "Code Geass done well" utterly laughable.

Well it has consistent character growth and a more responsible ending, in the very least, which already makes it a masterpiece compared to R2.

Nightmare of Nunnally is the My HiME EXA of Code Geass.
