Yes, you are safe now. As for the other thing, we're working on it. I can tell you that the tool is more sophisticated than the IP-checker that the mods use, and thus mere IP-overlap is not the only criterion.

I kinda wanna be sure how many sockpuppets I have now for future counting reasons. I think I have six, including my main account, but I'm not sure.

Just for the record, I've forgotten the password for Uzuki, Daisukenojo, Shooter, and Music, though I don't want to delete music.

Can a mod PM me a list of my sockpuppets?

@INUH: The goal is to catch the problem cases before the damage is done. If it needed moderator input to do anything useful, it wouldn't actually help us at all.

@balmung: I count ten total accounts.

Also, mmboogie is not my sockpuppet, he is my brother. I don't think he is ever going to go on again, though.

Ok, I was wondering about that, because there are apparently a couple handles on my IP that aren't mine.

As far as I know, my only remaining accounts are Central Avenue, Central Alice, Security, Charlotte (which I haven't posted with yet), and Veruca Salt.

Wait, so you don't want to delete an account that you don't have access to? How does that make any sense?

@Ironeye

...Now that I think about it, there is a significant gap in my logic. -_-

Could you please tell me how many sockpuppets I have, total? I just want to be on the safe side.

I've given and received sockpuppets to people. Can I just ask them to delete them and remake them if they want?

I made a list on my page.

@Gelzo: I imagine that would work, though I'm not really sure—I don't know the criteria that the deathtool uses.

Might it be possible to set the system up so that it merely informs the mods when a violation occurs? Then they could figure out what's going on before taking action.

This. Thisthisthis.

It seems a better idea to make a thing that flags the user with multiple sockpuppets to mods, so that they can get in touch with them. Much better than an automated system kicking them off the forum.

(Which leads me to another, off-topic question: if someone is edit-banned or google-banned, is there any way of them getting in contact with the mods of TV Tropes? Or does it just cut them off entirely?)

Because the combination of automated system + no route of appeal would be a bad recipe.

How many do I turn up?

(And if at all possible, can the password to the UPN account be PMed to me? I've forgotten it and it existed only for a now-deleted thread)

To double check, I have three accounts, including this one, right? There shouldn't be any more.

Edit-banned people can still use the forum and PMs—that's how they use the thread to appeal their bans. Google bans, on the other hand . . . not so much.

If the system is dispensing automated justice, then, which is it? Edit-bans or Google-bans?

I mean, to use a current-affairs example, Tnoph was Google-banned apparently due to her many sockpuppets. So she cannot appeal this ban?

As in, 'lolno. You cannot make a new account because that IP is overloaded'

Good idea. Prevention rather than cure; automatically stop people from creating more than 10 sockpuppets.
