A Pokemon AT could be a trainer coming out, and throwing out six Pokeballs at once, with a small chance of one being a Master Ball
I do writing, feel free to check out my stories here! https://numbugwritingblog.tumblr.com/post/686233243868102656/numbugs-shared-heroic-uniPersonally I'm overly fond of the Assist Trophy concept partially because Pokeballs do the same thing. Having said that, I do think you could have a Pokemon Assist Trophy, for the non-Pokemon characters.
"Any campaign world where an orc samurai can leap off a landcruiser to fight a herd of Bulbasaurs will always have my vote of confidence"There are few human characters from the Pokémon franchise that really do much of anything independently of the Pokémon themselves. Maybe Todd, riding in on the Zero-One and chucking Pester Balls at the fighters as he passes?
Switch FC code: SW-4420-1809-1805Pokemon AT would be Professor Oak. He comes out and throws three Pokeballs to his summoner's position, not unlike Isabelle throwing out fruit. To keep things balanced, though, perhaps they should never house Legendary Pokemon, since getting even one of those is better than many Assist Trophies, let alone multiple at the same time.
Yoshi AT is actually proving difficult to think of. Kamek's a stage element and most of the bosses are rather large. Maybe Raphael the Raven, who deals collision damage to enemies and can also walk along walls and ceilings similarly to the Hothead item?
You cannot firmly grasp the true form of Squidward's technique! Also a Wario hard counter
Uni catOnly on indoor stages.
You cannot firmly grasp the true form of Squidward's technique!I like the Pokemon Snap idea. Going with other Pokemon spinoffs, maybe have Tim Goodman and Detective Pikachu? Not particularly sure what they would do though; that game didn't really have any really memorable moments.
For a Yoshi AT, Poochy is the first one that jumps out at me. He'd essentially be doing what Gogoat does in Smash 4. There's also the Fuzzies, who can inflict Interface Screw on contact. In theory, even Baby Mario might work as an AT; make him crawl around like he has a Super Star and inflict contact damage.
Poochy could work if Gogoat is absent, yeah. Though he seems a little weak for an AT, they tend to be a little more powerful than common Pokemon. Perhaps if you could control Poochy like you can in Yoshi's Island?
Touching Fuzzy and getting dizzy wouldn't work on a single screen. Maybe if every player had their own screen like the 3DS version.

You cannot firmly grasp the true form of Squidward's technique!Evidently the current music update is actually supposed to have been next week's music, implying that we were definitely getting a song for a newcomer.
Personally, I think this means they will be from a franchise that doesn't have music yet (not that I believe the music deconfirmation thing, I just don't think every newcomer will be introduced with a song if their series already has one up).
This song needs more love.Yep, it's post number 146, which suggests that the newcomer from the Thursday Direct would have a song associated with them.
Perhaps Uncontrollable?
You cannot firmly grasp the true form of Squidward's technique! That could be anyone, it could be Geno with Beware the Forest’s Mushrooms. Skull Kid has the forest maze theme or it could be Shadow with ‘All Hail Shadow’. It also could have been Elma.
Doesn’t lead us much to go off.
So we can infer that music theory does have some merit? Since apparently yesterday's track was supposed to be shown next week.
Uni catIt could also be Incineroar/Decidueye/Insert Gen 7 Pokemon here.
It's been 3000 years…but Decidueye is too slow!
New theme music also a boxIt is? Does that mean Tora have a chance?

It could potentially be Isaac. Assuming the music theory is true, it would be either an included series not uploaded yet or a brand new one. However, the fact that the Direct was delayed because of the earthquake and there is something in the presentation that could be earthquake related and that Isaac is known for earth magic, it might be him.
Of course, this is alot of 'ifs.'
Odds are its actually Geno because I said so, so there.
Well, its almost 10PM in Japan, so we might not hear a Direct date for several hours.
-Witty line-Are they willing to wait for more than one week?
That's one way to rustle some jimmies
Uni catI’ve seen that fairly reliable sources are saying it’ll be Thursday.
EDIT: Which I just realized is tomorrow. I saw this a couple days ago though, so it’s not just people going “it’ll definitely be tomorrow guyz.”

Same. If it were just some doofus spreading baseless rumors, that would be one thing. But this might actually be legit.
Doctor Who — Long Way Around: https://www.fanfiction.net/s/13536044/1/Doctor-Who-Long-Way-AroundI also heard a 14th date. So either they announce today or tomorrow for friday.
Alternatively, no direct. Smash is cancelled and were all just pranked
Uni catAnnnnnndddd The direct is confirmed for the 13th.
Edit: It'll be at 3 pm PT/6 pm ET and will be 35 minutes long. The online service will be implemented on the 18th. A 7-day free trial will be made available on the Eshop.

Somebody once told me the world was macaroni, I took a bite out of a tree@Ultimatum: I expect something like that, given how Meta Knight turned out in the previous game.

Ditto's pretty much that.
It's been 3000 years…
