I hope it's Kass who summons the champion spirits through music.
What about Ankle...?
Just naming random characters, right.

You know what? I wouldn't even be mad if that happened. Hell, I think I'd really enjoy that concept.
If we go for extreme single-shot characters, how about Linkle from Hyrule Warriors? Any complaints about "another Link" would be worthless seeing how she's a vaguely Bayo-esque dual crossbow fighter with a fire theme. Hell, she's not even a descendant of the hero, just a farmer girl who thinks she is.

"Yeah, it's a shame. Here we are in an underground cave with all these lasers, and instead of having a rave we're using it for evil."Well shit.
That's a hell of a mystery no one thought was a mystery and didn't even really need solving.
But damn if it didn't just get solved so nice work.

It's funny, Simon is "more" echo than Richter since the only thing Richter couldn't do is the angled whip attack.
And the up-whip, and the whip grapple.
I have a message from another time...I never understood how the one shot argument can used against adding Zelda characters but not Fire Emblem characters. Basically, if you see someone saying X shouldn't be playable because they were a one shot character, majority of the time it is replying to a Zelda request.
-Witty line-Precedent, probably. And difference between series. Prior to Awakening, there really weren't any Fire Emblem characters who lasted more than one or two games. The ever-shifting universes in that series also meant there wasn't a real main character, so Smash has gone with whoever. In contrast, we've yet to receive any Zelda characters who aren't a Link, a Zelda, or a Ganon, because in much of the series, those three are the everything.
I have a message from another time...I wonder how Smash Bros would play if hitboxes were changed to exactly match the attacks. I imagine that a bunch of attacks would become a lot smaller.
I've always found it silly that Jigglypuff is treated as gender-neutral by Smash despite their gender ratio clearly being tipped towards female (as well as all the hats that references various female Pokemon humans).
On that tangent, how would you guys react if we get no more female newcomers?
Edited by KSoniK on Aug 18th 2018 at 2:07:28 PM
Disappointment.
Is Jigglypuff treated gender-neutrally in Smash? I was under the impression that Smash Jiggs was canonically female.
Oh, by the way, there was one female character new to Smash Ultimate that none of you mentioned: female Pikachu.

Probably because she's an alt to a Smash veteran. And if you are going to mention female Pikachu, you've got to also mention the female Trainer.
The smash site uses 'it' for Dark Samus, but how was D Samus referred in Prime?
And imagine if Ridley wasn't playable and Metroid's roster would just be Samus, Zamus and Damus.
-Witty line-Well, if we're debating Jigglypuff's gender, Pikachu's gender is just as important. And the new Pikachu is a new Pikachu, the old one has had the flat tail since 64, making him canonically male. Hell, there's actually two new female Pikachus, since Cosplay Pikachu is a separate Pikachu.
Also, yes I forgot about Leaf, and I was wrong and I am sorry for doing so.
Honestly, at this point I hope they announce female-voice Mewtwo as an alternate costume for Mewtwo.
Does Femme Fatal Mewtwo actually look different?
YO. Rules of the Internet 45. Rule 45 is a lie.I don't recall Smash Jigglypuff ever being referred to as female. It's just that people who were unfamiliar with Pokémon didn't realize that Jigglypuff can be male, and the fan theory stuck.
A great Mascot Mook. No, she just sounds different. Male Mewtwo was in the first movie and was all about killing humans and cloning all Pokemon. Female Mewtwo was in the 16th movie and she fought Genesect using Mega Mewtwo Y. She was more distrustful of humans than outright hateful, and she really wanted to protect nature and wild Pokemon.

Okay then...
Surely those people thought about "REPRODUCTION"...
YO. Rules of the Internet 45. Rule 45 is a lie.The gen 1 games didn't even have genders (besides Nidorans, and they had to be treated/documented as different species to manage that).
So not thinking Jigglypuff could be male in 64 days and the assumption of being female sticking around now isn't that surprising.
Jigglypuff was seen as female as her alts used various headgear and hats from the female trainers and things in general. It was also probably accepted just so Samus wasn't the only girl in 64.
-Witty line-So this game is looking like a solid T since i'm seeing that both the trailers and the game itself feels a lot more aggressive and visceral.
That said, wonder if the Tank Top alt for ZSS will return.
Uni catI like that costume, so I hope so.
> If we get another Zelda character, i hope it's one of the Champions.
I hope its Tingle
New theme music also a box
