Also, kudos for giving Videl a wholly new design that I immediately recognized as Videl, even with Toriyama's Only Six Faces art style.

Refresh my memory, how is Videl alive in this universe? Did Buu wish back the Earthlings?

As I recall, he did bring a lot of them back...then ate Bulma again because of how smart she was.

So if Zen Buu can grant wishes does he even need the Dragonballs as a prize? They aren't Black Star or Super Dragonballs, they're versions of the Namekian Dragonballs and probably can't give him anything he can't have himself. Or is he just in it for fun and doesn't care about the balls

Actually, why hasn't it been addressed that being the Namekian Dragonballs they have limits to what they can do? It was established in the original Dragonball manga even after the upgrade in the Buu saga, Porunga even said it wasn't easy to undo Majin Buu's mass destruction

Maybe he just wants a change to absorb strong fighters from other universes.

Zen Buu pretty clearly does everything he does for the lulz.
