I'm pretty sure if she'd told Moloch he wouldn't still be here right now. And if Tarvek already lied to his minion, who's she to argue? Mostly, though, that's not the kind of thing you go around telling people in general unless you have a really, really good reason to tell a specific person and trust them to keep it under their hat.
Your funny quote here! (Maybe)Okay, "Wocketa Wocketa Wocketa". That is the perfect Unsound Effect for bobbling your minions' heads back and forth for being idiots.
I'm still laughing.
And actually... Moloch is very aware of things that directly impact his survival. I'd be more than a little surprised if he missed that particular tidbit of information.
You know, it's going to be rather interesting when Higgs and Moloch finally meet (and maybe Violetta. Minion conference, anyone?)
Higgs is, like, the Anti-Violetta. Wheras Moloch and Violetta were clearly made for each other.
Also, I like how Moloch is taking "ownership" of Gil in this argument, and Violetta for Tarvek. Even though he doesn't work for Gil.
Your funny quote here! (Maybe)Gil did him the poison pill when he was sentenced to the Castle, though. And he kept his mouth shut about his suspicions that Moloch wasn't the Spark that the Baron thought he was. I can see where small kindnesses like that could make a lasting impression.
...if you don’t love you’re dead, and if you do, they’ll kill you for it.I was just thinking that Higgs and Moloch could sympathize somewhat with one another... surrounded by crazy women and crazier sparks and forced to deal with them
Speaking of the poison pill, anybody else still think it's a Chekhov's Gun? (If it were to play some role in saving Gil from something, that'd be appropriate somehow...)
Do you highlight everything looking for secret messages?Maybe it'll get fed to Zola?

"And as long as a sack of shit is not a good thing to be, chivalry will never die."You know, I get the feeling that the Foglios might be trying to tell us something about Shipping with this one...
But yeah, I'm wondering how Violetta and Moloch are going to respond to her revelation. None of them seem on very good terms with the Baron or his men, but...
Over in the twitter:
Heh, I was waiting for him to build something crazy out of debris. Othar, I'm pretty sure that's actually exactly the right set of priorities. Sea monkeys may be rare, but you can't take that risk.

Productivity is for people without internet connections. -Count DorkuNew Comic!◊
I see that Gil's been doing a lot more fixing of the castle than Agatha. Not sure about the rest of the comic. Strange little side-trip, right?
BTW, I stayed in a yurt once. It was nice, better than a tent.
I get the feeling Gil's poking at the castle's brain, purely for Rule of Funny.
So anyways, Agatha is now on the opposite side of a sealed door from people who want to both help and kill her. Shit's going to hit the fan as soon as that door is opened. Hopefully, the Mexican Standoff that ensues won't devolve into violence. The good news is that even without the castle's help the good guys are far better armed and may or may not outnumber the villains to boot. The bad news is that the bad guys can afford to lose a mook or two without shedding any tears, and the good guys can't.
Your funny quote here! (Maybe)... unless the bad guys are packing some serious mojo that they have yet to reveal, about the only members of Team Agatha/Gil that couldn't take them out solo are Moloch and maybe Krosp (then again, Krosp attempted to eat Fust's face when Agatha was threatened, so...). Oh, and Tarvek, but that's only because he's unconscious .
Also, "You want easy? Go live in a yurt." HAH!
"My greatest dream is to be remade as a yurt!" The castle is great.
Productivity is for people without internet connections. -Count DorkuI thought the castle's brain was a copy of Faustus Heterodyne's brain. Didn't he already get a chance to see the world?
I guess it changes in a few hundred years.
Your funny quote here! (Maybe)Wait, wait, is Agatha really on the outside of the room where Gil is? She said "Gil's been inside", but I took that to mean "Inside the castle" not "Inside that room". How would Agatha even know where to find Gil? It seems like the AI that locked Gil in the room is different from Agatha's yurt-loving friend there.
Careful, Gil...
Did you just throw that Heterodyne Thing-We-Don't-Know-What-It-Does into the Heterodyne Mechanical-Intelligence-Incinerator? That has to be the stupidest-
whoa
whoa
whoooaaa....
Good news. I just found out what that Heterodyne Thing-We-Don't-Know-What-It-Does did. It was a Don't-Be-Obsessed-With-Yurts Core they installed after I gave them a twenty-hour Mongol History lesson to make me stop giving them a twenty-hour Mongol History lesson. So get comfortable while I warm up the slide projector...
Do you highlight everything looking for secret messages?Brilliant. I laughed at that.
The castle has Faustus' personality, not his memories.
Waiting on a TRS slot? Finishing off one of these cleaning efforts will usually open one up.And given that Faustus' (hmmm, literary reference much?) quirks, we're lucky the castle is as sane as it is.
And a WMG shot-in-the-dark... is the castle a copy of Faustus, or actually Faustus himself, courtesy of brain-upload? These ARE the Heterodynes we speak of...
All the Heterodynes' names prior to the Heterodyne Boys are cultural or literary references as far as I can tell. Faustus, Iscariot, Mordred, Zod...
It seems to be pretty common for Sparks in general, actually. I'd lay excellent money that Lucrezia Mongfish is intended as a reference to Lucrezia Borgia.
I will keep my soul in a place out of sight, Far off, where the pulse of it is not heard. Not like we'll ever know, but it just came to me- where's the Girl Genius Verse's alternate Charles Babbage? One can only imagine what he'd be able to do with the power of the Spark augmenting the talent he had as a "normal" human in our world.
@JK Roo: it'd be cool, but (I think) pretty unlikely. Castle Heterodyne's pretty crazy, sure, and certainly bloodthirsty, but you'd expect it to be more active/creative and less servile if it were actually a freaking Heterodyne itself (an immortal one, at that). Heck, if it had been Faustus, its main brain center could probably have repaired the whole castle (but BETTER! Oh yes, I have many improvements to make) after the Other's attack.
</rain on parade> it would be pretty interesting, though.
"I like them to talk nonsense. That's man's one privilege over all creation. Through error you come to truth! You never reach any truth without making fourteen mistakes- and very likely a hundred and fourteen." - Razumikhin, Crime and PunishmentNew comic!!◊
OMFG, it's Dingbot Prime! Awesome.
You're probably right, Intuition.. if it was Faustus, the Castle would at the LEAST be mobile. Along with Mechanicsburg. And possibly the terrain around both... heck, why not make it burrow? Of course the weaponry needs overhauling, and obviously the defenses aren't strong enough...
Ah well. Mad science can't do everything... yet.

Oh, the part about the Other...
