Well, technically, the clank was never his sister.
Yeah, he designed her with said Restraining Bolt long before she essentially overtook his sister. Meaning he wanted a kill switch on his own sister's prosthetic body long before he suspected he'd need it to take said body down when it developed a mind of its own.

Disgusted, but not surprisedWell, obviously. A.I. Is a Crapshoot, after all, especially in this world. I'd be more upset if he hadn't included some safety measures in case the clank went ballistic.
I think he installed that kill switch as a safeguard against his sister trying something with said body.
Disgusted, but not surprisedWell, it's just that kinda family. Lords knows I'd have done the same. Would make Christmas so much more bearable.
Huh, and I was just rereading that arc, too.
Oh God! Natural light!Having a knife is not backstabbing. Stopping someone trying to kill you is not backstabbing. Backstabbing is attacking someone who should be able to trust you and who does trust you.
Was Anevka a Sturmvoraus monster-spark while alive, or did her personality only turn that way after it was merged with the clank?
She was a Sturmvoraus while alive.
Link to TRS threads in project mode here. It's still backstabbing. It's not a knife. It's more like hiding a remote-controlled bomb in someone's prosthetics.
Disgusted, but not surprisedWell, she and Tarvek are motherless at the start of the comic. In the novels, it's stated that she zapped mother dearest with the prosthesis-zapper before she-as-a-human actually died.
I suspect Anevka was always a little high-strung. Post-almost-getting-Lu'ed-and-definitely-getting-messed-up, she had ample reason to detest both her parents more than she already had.
It's kind of sad that the clank wound up very definitely Lu'ed. Poor Anevka: she probably wasn't very nice, but she didn't get a chance to properly be her own nasty self for long, in either human or clank versions.
Tarvek has many reasons to stop Lu doing the same thing to Agatha.

Clank!Anevka's head was still in a Stormhalten cupboard last we checked. In theory, Tarvek could revive her.
It’s the backstab that just keeps on stabbing.
Oh God! Natural light!That's... probably the unofficial Sturmveraus motto, or something.
And if it isn't, it should be.
If it moves, eat it. If it doesn't move, kick it—then eat it!If this turns into a Bootstrap Paradox with Lucrezia being the reason there *are* Sparks to begin with, I'm going to scream.
I hate time travel.
Though that ship may have sailed in and out of port several times at this point, considering that Albia said Lu was everywhere in her memories.

"Give sorrow words; The grief that does not speak knits up the o'er-wrought heart, and bids it break." William Shakespeare - MacbethThat ship had been sailed from the moment Bang saw future Agatha zipping through time
"You can reply to this Message!"That ship sailed on page 4. This was always going to be a time travel story, it just took awhile to get there.
It sure looks like that arm has spontaneously reattached itself.
It was already back when Oggie was about to step on the clank's head.
That backstabbing comment just makes me picture it in some ping or logo... could make a crude idea round it.
Well here goes nothingI love Tarvek, especially when he's being snarky.
If it moves, eat it. If it doesn't move, kick it—then eat it!x5 While I normally hate Time Travel in stories, the earlier it gets introduced, the more bearable it becomes. At the very least, I know what I'm setting myself up for if I decide to follow the story anyway.
