Ah. Pity.
All wasp queens ultimately becoming Lucrezia would be a nice bit of horror.
Creed of the Happy Pessimist:Always expect the worst. Then, when it happens, it was only what you expected. All else is a happy surprise.I have to say that I'm tired of seeing Zeetha get slapped around like a red-headed stepchild.
I suppose it's possible that she got soft living with the normies in the circus, but you'd think that she'd be able to go at least one round with Lu!Nevka.
Given: Lucrezia, in some form, is probably the Grey Witch that killed Luheia (Read: Almost Certainly) and, thus, maybe outside of Zeetha's league, but I still feel that the The Worf Effect is strong here.

"Give sorrow words; The grief that does not speak knits up the o'er-wrought heart, and bids it break." William Shakespeare - MacbethIt always was, with Zeetha.
"We learn from history that we do not learn from history."It is like putting a musket against a death ray...
Well here goes nothingIt's just that the Foglio's made an error with her (I know, but even they can make a mistake once in a while). And it isnt a biggie, simply that providing Agatha with a highly effective swordswoman as her personal bodyguard robs the story of too much dramatic tension, because then antagonists like this new version of Lu are not dangerous enough. They needed to give Zeetha a weakness of some kind (other than over-confidence) so that her letting opponents get through to threaten Agatha would make more sense in-universe. As it is, they have to let various enemies overcome Zeetha in straight up battles that we would rather see her do well in.
"We learn from history that we do not learn from history."I don't think there's any reason they couldn't have had the jaegers get worfed in this fight, and have Zeetha do whatever Oggie is going to do, but they just like jaegers too much I guess.
This wouldn't irritate me so much if she hadn't gotten her butt handed to her by the Geisters in Paris.
But they HAD to have some reason to bring in Higgs...
"Give sorrow words; The grief that does not speak knits up the o'er-wrought heart, and bids it break." William Shakespeare - MacbethAnd he never even got there!
keep your eyes on the prize, readers: the Bangladesh Bowl will happen within a few years!
I wrote about a fish turning into the moon. That's what worries me.
Comparing the badassery we've seen from Bang and what we've seen from Zeetha, the scales are so heavily tilted toward Bang that it won't even be a fight.
Bang will murder Zeetha the way she did Princess Zulenna.
"Give sorrow words; The grief that does not speak knits up the o'er-wrought heart, and bids it break." William Shakespeare - MacbethNah, Zeetha's failures so far are basically all Worf Effect. Her upcoming fight with Bang is her own subplot, so she gets to be the main character for a few pages. She'll do fine.
Except then you're getting into it seeming like an asspull, Zeetha suddenly getting a lot more competent than previous history has demonstrated.
All your safe space are belong to TrumpAnd despite her (sigh ugh) track record in the comic, I suspect that Zeetha is a much better fighter than Zulenna. Even if she isn't, yeah, Bang isn't gonna kill Zeetha, and I doubt that the reverse will happen either. Somehow they/the Foglios will settle the matter without a fatality.
http://www.mansionofe.comSomehow, the whole thing will turn out to have been a big misunderstanding.
"We learn from history that we do not learn from history.""Previous history" includes murdering Bang's entire pirate army by herself. That's the thing with worfs; it is well-established they are great fighters, they just don't get to show it because it would get in the way of the plot.
Pirates were once recognized as "the common enemy of mankind." Killing one was not considered murder but an act of defense in war. I don't know if that's the case in GG World, but the pirates in question murdered a ship full of innocent people and were planning to sell Zeetha as a slave (presumably). Wiping out the pirate nest probably counts as murder only if you are a pirate. Albia heard the story and didn't condemn Zeetha.

I used the word "murder" to highlight the brutality and ease with which she accomplished that feat. I don't think she was guilty of any crimes.
Foglios are kinda in a corner with regard to worfing. Agatha's entire entourage is supposed to be monstrously dangerous. Zeetha, Jagers, Violetta, even both of her boyfriends. So whenever they feel the need for a combat that isn't a curbstomp or a godzilla, it's worf time, every time.
Or have the entire group act like idiots, as they've been doing here in England.
http://www.mansionofe.comSuper Idiot Ball team mode. In all fairness... when was the last time the cast had enough time to "sleep and readjust"?

Well here goes nothingHmm. And the Lu-Other semi-clank is breaking out in flames where Oggie ripped its/her arm off. At least something is going right. But with Albia now absent, what has become of the bindings on Lu-Agatha?
I don't think there's been a single moment since the comic started where there wasn't some sort of time pressure on the characters.
The fire is from when she got shot by the freed British troops, not Oggie ripping off her arm.
http://www.mansionofe.comWhen Martellus was mixing up the potion that he gave to Oggie we see him stroking his chin before giving it to Oggie. Do you think he was originally making it for himself?
That's the arm Oggie just ripped off and let drop to the ground.
