The new opening is pure gold. Seriously.
Now I won't be able to take any of the War episodes seriously.
"If you aren't him, then you apparently got your brain from the same discount retailer, so..." - FighteerWell we still have the Confining the Jinchuuriki Arc to do. I expect this opening to last until the beginning of the War.
Well yes, because before that point The only particularly silly thing was Bee dancing and that didn't surprise me for some reason. Kakashi skipping did and that's what made it so funny to me. Everything after that point was just icing on the cake.
Imagine Rakan applying Calling Your Attacks to doing paperwork.~Anarchy Rakan for the hell of it COMMISSION THIS BRIDGE!~EHKPosts before I watch this opening:
@Gilphon: You'd know that you were Sonic if you weren't on so much meth.
Of course the elder toad is a villain. He's planning on having Naruto destroy the world.
Why was the old Raikage unhelpful, unlike most of the others? Did Kabutops block him from helping?
Posts from while watching the opening.
Alright, I know ahead of time this is going to have a huge WTF factor.
Hmm, the music is nice and soft.
I have to pause and see who is skipping. Is that Inoichi?
So Elder Toad's a villain, and Naruto is about to grope Sakura, wait, no, Evil Naruto is about to hug Naruto.
Yeah, this is pretty odd, but it could be...
EPIC TEAM HAND SIGN.
And now Naruto's preparing a hand sign for...
HILARIOUS DANCE OFF NO JUTSU!
I'd like to see Sakura vs. The Mask with Fire Spin Naruto assist.
Hmm. I could barely make out Mei and crew at the end, and Team 8 was sidelined. Odd.

The sad, REAL American dichotomySo, to repeat the last half of my post in short,
WHAT THE FUCKING AWESOME.
The sad, REAL American dichotomyPfft..the zombies...heh This OP is pretty much has the exact opposite tone of the actual arc. Just makes it all the funnier.
I'm pretty sure the lead director went to the animation team and said "Look, we can't give away spoilers, and I know you guys like Hinata, but try not to shill her too much. And no more Sasuke nudity. And after the last couple, would it kill you to not be so dramatic?"
And then they looked at him, and said "yes boss, we'll get right on it."
And then they waited until an hour before the episode aired, finally sobered up, and put this together so they couldn't use anything instead. Then they turned it in, said it was exactly what he asked for, and attached a note that said:
P.S.
WE LOVE OUR LIVES.
Alternatively, they just watched Cromartie High School's opening because I was plugging it so much, and decided to bring that to Naruto.

The sad, REAL American dichotomyI’m watching it now fort he 5th time and I simply can’t stop laughing. But the contrast between OP and the plot couldn’t be greater. Yeah, I imagine Madara threatening little Naruto and ripping the Kyuubi out of Kushina’s stomach after he finished his short dance session. And before Kushina’ says farewell to Naruto, we see the latter happily dancing. Lovely, just lovely.
Best explanation I've heard so far.

Oh god, do you guys think this at the start of episodes will have the same Mood Whiplash as "JITENSHA! JITENSHA! JITENSHA!" after Hinata got stabbed?
The sad, REAL American dichotomyThat was.....WOW
Naruto's running a the begining reminded me of Kotetsu for some reason... in fact more and more I'm starting to see Naruto as a young Kotetsu...
And if someone makes a gif of the konoha 11 dance scene, I will love them forever.

GOH! JII! RAH!Well that was... different?
"If you weren't so crazy I'd think you were insane."Also, I'm assuming that Naruto turing into flames at the end is a bit of foreshadowing of his Chakra mode.
GOH! JII! RAH!Now, Imagine Break Up by Ayumu Miyazaki to that opening.
Watch SymphogearThis is just... so bizarre. What the hell were they thinking? Hilarious though this is, I swear I don't ever want to see another fight handled like the fight with Pain.
I WANT to see another fight like episode 167. It is to this day the best fight ever animated.

Agreed, the animation of the arc made me strictly a manga reader.

"If you weren't so crazy I'd think you were insane."Yosemite Sam is disappoint.
I love LT but I don't want Toon-y in my Naruto as much as I don't want angst ridden super powered bishi's in my humorous Funny Animal cartoon.
Rarely active, try DA/Tumblr Avatar by pippanaffie.deviantart.comThe loony tunes animation really killed the mood of that fight.
WHACK A MOLE NO JUTSU
"Do you hate me?"
I was very amused by Gaara's dance routine.
