  • Alternative Character Interpretation: In-Universe Is Morgan a lucky Badass Normal who survives two attacks by a determind serial killer? Or a Magnificent Bastard who was working with the killer all along?
  • Big-Lipped Alligator Moment: In the third episode of series three, Mansell is searching a house when he notices a photograph of a girl on the wall. Without touching it, it falls off the wall, and after he makes a run for it, there's another shot of the photograph, the girl's expression having changed from happiness to fear. It's never explained, and apart from Mansell being spooked for rest of the episode, never brought up again. Though in hindsight it could be seen as foreshadowing to how series four starts introducing supernatural elements, it is still never adressed.
  • Heartwarming Moments: Most of Miles and Chandler's interactions in the final arc of S3.
  • Moment of Awesome: Miles's "acceptance" speech for his award for bravery, in which he calls out the assembled higher-ups for punishing and shunning Chandler for saving his life instead of chasing the Ripper suspect in the same incident for which he got his award. It's also heartwarming and hilarious.
Miles: "So thanks for this, but no thanks. And I just need to catch a bus back to my table."
  • Paranoia Fuel: The odd behaviour of several cops throughout series 2, who may or may not be working for the Krays.
    • The flickering lights and dodgy pumbling in series 4 that may or may not have a supernatural cause
  • The Woobie: DC Kent, the youngest member of the team and the only one to be nice to Chandler from the get-go. In the first series it's revealed that he deals with the stress of his job by hiding in a car park and crying. In the second series, he's striped (an extremely painful knife assault involving long, deep slashes to the buttocks and upper legs), and suspected of being the mole, leading to a breakdown in the parking lot.
