• Awesome Music: Needless to say, "It Was Agatha All Along" pretty much became the breakaway hit song of the series. After the song was heard, it was extensively covered, remixed, and memed. In fact, it was because of the song's popularity that the episode's soundtrack was released four days early.
• Crosses the Line Twice:
  • The reveal that Agatha Harkness has been manipulating everything is horrifying, but the musical montage showing her meddling in previous episodes is such a gleeful Villain Song that it becomes funny again. The final shot of her announcing "And I killed Sparky too!" is the cherry on top.
  Agatha: [to the boys] Don't worry, I won't bite.
  Agatha: [to the camera] I bit a kid once.
  • Early on, there is a flashback to Wanda expanding the Hex, with terrified S.W.O.R.D. personnel running from the advancing barrier... with a jaunty drumbeat playing in the background.
• Harsher in Hindsight: The episode was written before the COVID-19 Pandemic, but viewers noted a number of circumstances in it that resemble those of the present it was released in, such as Wanda staying in her house all day wearing sleepwear, referring to it as a "quarantine style stay-cation", and insisting she's fine while actually growing more and more upset inside.
• I Knew It!:
  • This episode confirms Wanda's kooky next-door neighbor, Agnes, is really Agatha Harkness, a witch from the Marvel comics. A good many fans predicted this from even before episode one, since the name of the character was revealed, people begun to theorize that Agnes's name seemed to be a shortened version of "Agatha Harkness", and even so, during the episodes themselves, due to Agnes being more knowledgeable of the Hex compared to the rest of the "neighbors", and making a number of references to witchcraft and the devil.
  • Some had also theorized Agnes wasn't being truthful about what happened to Sparky back in Episode 5. Turns out they were right to be suspicious.
  • Monica, who has been active as a superhero in the comics under the names Captain Marvel, Photon and Spectrum, gains powers as a result of traveling through the Hex a third time, a theory that circulated after Darcy mentioned the Hex rewrote her DNA.
• Memetic Mutation: The "And I killed Sparky too!" scene has been memed with various other hated pop culture moments. "And I wrote Season 8 of Game of Thrones too!"
