• Ass Pull: Lindsay's elimination by accidentally voting for herself instead of Duncan is seen, by most fans, as one of the worst eliminations in the show, especially given how much focus was given to Lindsay during the season similar to Harold to the point she was considered one of the season's protagonists and a deserving winner. Sparing Duncan seems to validate the fans' suspicions of the writers giving Duncan constant Plot Armor. It doesn't help either that Lindsay was a bit smarter here than last season, so a random moment of stupidity costing her her place in the competition was seen as something contrived to keep Duncan in the game.
• Harsher in Hindsight: Lindsay accidentally voting for herself is even harsher when only three episodes later a sleep-deprived Duncan successfully votes for Courtney as he had planned in spite of his unconscious move while waking up to vote. In short, when Lindsay doesn't pay enough attention while voting, she gets eliminated; but when Duncan does so, he gets to still correctly vote for the person he wanted.
• They Wasted a Perfectly Good Plot: Lindsay successfully voting for Duncan rather than herself is what many fans think should have happened, given how Lindsay shined in the season and underwent a great deal of Character Development by learning to not let others manipulate her and acquiring some leadership skills, to the point where many feel she deserved to make it to the finale.
