YMMV / There's a Man in the Woods

Go To

  • Alternate Character Interpretation: Was the teacher really going to kill Sid at the end, or was he simply going to give Sid a scare that would force him to publicly confess that he made the man in the woods up just so he wouldn't have to share the honeysuckle with his classmates?
  • Nightmare Fuel: The frightfully mundane tale of one man's descent into madness over a malicious lie. It reaches its peak at the end when it's implied he intends on killing the kid who ruined his life.
  • Tear Jerker: It's not fair how the teacher was fired when all he wanted to do was be a teacher. He wasn't mean or bully-some or just in it for the money. He genuinely loved those kids. He was the best kind of teacher who let his students explore like the free spirits they were. And yet, he's separated from what he loves to do, all because one of his own students wanted the honeysuckles to himself.
  • The Woobie: The teacher, a kind old man whose life was ruined by a selfish little brat. Becomes a Woobie, Destroyer of Worlds by the end after all the crap he went through cause of Sid's lie.
