- Alternative Character Interpretation:
- Seeing how much she objected to Bart's behavior in this episode (even calling him out once Grampa began crying out of despair although it was a brilliant ruse by him), you can't help but wonder why Lisa didn't take a more proactive role in stopping him or at the very least protecting their grandfather from his manipulation. Was she the true voice of reason in the matter or was she also secretly enjoying the benefits of their lack of rules more than she let on?
- Some fans interpret Maude as intentionally teasing Homer during the party, considering how odd it is for such a conservative woman to wear such a low-cut dress to begin with.
