  • Designated Villain: Several times the antagonist Wahid mentions that he is working with the White Helmets to achieve his goals, and the White Helmets themselves are implicated to be working with the terrorists and falsifying their exploits to damage the Assad government's reputation. However, according to investigative journalists and analysts, the organisation has come under a sustained disinformation campaign in Russian media, promoting false accusations connecting it with terrorist activities and other conspiracy theories.
  • Goddamned Bats:
    • ATGM launchers, particularly the wire-guided Metis models used by both sides, have a long range and can make small turns to hit your tanks unlike RPG rounds. They can be a huge annoyance if you're trying to advance in urban environments.
    • At some points, the enemy forces field squads of elite foreign mercenaries, who are outfitted with American-made weapons. The M99 sniper rifle that they wield can be especially frustrating to deal with, for its long range and .50 BMG cartridge mean your own soldiers can be one-shot in quick succession before you even realise what happened.
  • Play the Game, Skip the Story: A rather...unique example, general consensus is that the game is a really solid made RTS due to the experienced developers from defunct Russian gaming developers as well as the solid engine from "Warfare" and it's sequel "Warfare Reloaded" however the story does repeat the White Helmets being "terrorists" from the disinformation campaign in Russian media (which considering Russia's censorship, is at least understandable for Russian developers to possibly believe in the absence of other info) which can be seen as pretty bad, leading some to enjoy the game (and maybe even the original writing/story of the fictional cast) but decry the White Helmets portrayal.
  • That One Sidequest: Helping Nest-2 in the third mission. Their unit is based in a giant office building that dominates the map. There are multiple vehicles and troops between your forces and them; and getting close prompts your allied unit to retreat and send out some of their tanks, which are likely to be destroyed by the enemy's vehicles. It's telling, then, that Anwar says with dismay if the building is lost:
