• Adaptation Displacement: The original flash recreation is the least known version compared to its later recreations.
• Nightmare Fuel: The entire video and everything about it. It starts off normally, but then it turns into a nightmarish animation complete with human screaming, warped backgrounds, and Mickey continuing to walk endlessly like he can't see or hear what's going on.
• Special Effect Failure: Several of the animations recreating the cartoon described in the story were obviously not created in the 1930's, usually since they look too modern, or because they were animated in Flash or another rigging animation software.
• Visual Effects of Awesome: On the other hand, the second re-creation does look convincingly like something out of the 1930s.
